I put a call across to the GGM HR NNPC, who was friendly in his answer, and this is what he had to say: there is a request to the management for a fresh recruitment which is expected to begin by july/august and the test in october/november 2010.
On the 2008 issue,there are a lot of intricacies and complications which to his opinion MAY BE CANCELLED due to NNPC's policy on recruitment,i.e any recruitment excercise more than a year old becomes null. he mentioned though that the 2008 recruitment is still on the table of management with regards to consideration for those that were successful and have not been called or adviced on the way forward for no fault of theirs--thats where the hope of the 2008 excercise lies, and that if management wishes to recall the 2008 recruitment, then HR will have no option than to follow suit.
The good news is that, THE 2008 RECRUITMENT HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED FOR NOW, ITS STILL UNDER CONSIDERATION. So lets keep hoping, watching, and above all be prayerful. which ever way will definately have favours with it.

It makes a whole lot of sense, but i need U to check out the logics.
now, the Fire services men recruitment/employement--the whole of it was just a little later than the GT2008's.
So, I think even the NNPC Fire service men too is well over a year if am not mistaken. Therefore, I guess GT 2008 is quite hopeful too (Insha Allahu).
May God, in GHis infinite mercy, consider our PAPAs and MAMAs suffer, Our over 5 years LAbour as Undergraduate, the escapes from sadist Lecturers, the stress/tension of Assignments and Exams. The stress of Project and its defences in our final year Make the NNPC GT 2008 a reality-come-true.

As far as I am concerned, NNPC GT 2008 is dead and gone. I am part of the Dec 2008 interview (and sure of making it) but come to think of it, ... if you are the new GMD, will you go by a result compiled 2 years and 2 tenures back associated with misconducts when you have every propensity of doing it your own way. The answer is NO! Please let's try and forget that, more opportunities lies ahead. Thanks

the pesent gmd actually was the one heading the recruitment process then, as director corporate services.
there is actually a board and a minister that a gmd is anwserable to.i.e consults.
he is not an arbitrary head.recruitment is also a policy issue.its not what you can wish away.
it has to be addressed.

I was also among the invitees of the Nov2008 interview in Towers.. but do u think NNPC wll reverse its ethics bcoz of us?? i dought!
it might not be about the ethics entirely but also the fairness and consideraation for those who attended the interview in 2008. and besides the present GMD was part of the 2008 recruitment process, so he knows better what is best to do. lets just wait and think positively towards it.
