It has nothing to do with the DG being from Niger Delta.
Some Governors are very selfish especially the South -East Governors except Rochas Okorocha.
The states are meant to contribute the 40% of the training expenses but our south East Governors declined.
Enugu: 3 Cadets and no ratings.
Abia: 21 Cadets and 10 ratings:
Imo State: over 100 Cadets and 15 ratings.
Ebonyi: 1 cadet and no ratings
Anambra: none at all
South South states have majority of the candidates because their Governors contributed 40% for the training.
Finally, I have replied those that I saw their names there.
They have not stopped calling.

I just got a text message inviting me for a second stage screening scheduled for 26-29th of this month,and i would be expected to lodge in a hotel in apapa lagos throughout the duration of the screening exercise.Pls for those that have already attended the screening process,wat are the requirements for application as a rating.thanks ur reply is urgently needed cos i would be moving from my house at Ebute-metta to Apapa tomorrow by God's grace.
I received a call from nimasa confirming my details. They guy that called said I will receive my invitation sms shortly.

Go with ur O'Level and intl passport if u have but if u don't have there is no problems bc they will get one for u.
Mind u that if u don't have ur intl passport ready, u will spend at least 7days there.
Is just medical and screening of ur credentials. U can still make a choice btw cadet and Rating

They invite based on ur states that is it depends on the numbers allocated to ur state.
Let me state here that, there is no manipulation with regards to the invitation.
The invitation is based on ur performance with respect to ur state.
For instance, my guy scored 90 and he wrote for ratings. He is from imo state. Nimasa invited the first fifteen and he missed out bc he is 16th person.
If they call more imo state, he will get his invite
I wonder why they haven't invited me after they sent me an e-mail sometime back and asked for my details. They wouldn't be asking for my details if I didn't make it. That's what I feel though. Well, has anybody that got the text message to send his details to one e-mail like that been called? E be like say finally me wan comot from this country.
@ ezemagu,like for those residing in lag,is it mandatory to stay in the hotel,cos i'm wondering how i would stay in the hotel for 7days since i haven't got an international passport.I applied as rating,from delta state,but wrote my test in lag.my elder big bro wedding na dis saturday,na wa-oh.
Guy be careful with that bc if chinedu gets u outside the hotel or notices that u dt stay there, u re own ur own. He will destroy ur file immediately and ask the security man to escort u out of the premises. Just be careful. He has the final say. U can attend the wedding from there. Gud luck

@ ezemagu, i'm below 27 but i've got a b.eng degree programme,but wit the thought of 1000dollars monthly allowance as a cadet sounds awesome,but could u throw more light as per the rating programme,after the 1yr training,wat makes the person a big boy/gal.

My good people, I am sure that most of us does not know what the positions; Ratings and Cadets entail. I want to categorically state here in good authority that the jobs are not for degree holders. Please harken to my advice and save ur career an undue embarrasment.
This is my story
I was called on Wednesday afternoon by NIMASA agent and was later sent an sms asking me to report to etal hotels...bla bla bla... I went to etal hotels yesterday with my bag containing my personal effects, feeling funky that I have gotten an opportunity that will add value to my career. I am from Abia state and my name is number 3 on their list with a score of 96%. After the first clearance where the youngman will require for the sms sent to u, ur o level and the issuance of one small tag bearing ur name and number, I moved on to the next guy for the continuation of the clearance. The guy asked me what I am doing for the moment and I told him, he told me that training was not meant for me. He asked me what Ratings do and I could not answer. He took time to explain to me what Ratings and Cadets do. Cadets are young secondary school leavers who will be sent abroad for Marine related courses such as Marine engineering etc as a first degree course..just like one entring Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), while Ratings are ship cleaners (boy-boy) who could not even pass o-level and at such will attend the programme to learn Welding, Firefighting and how to tidy and clean ship..( my people, this explains why the test was too cheap). The guy advised me not to try quitting my job for a worthless venture which will nose-dive my career. For your information my people, Cadets are seniors to Ratings and Ratings will only give you a level 4 job in NIMASA. If you are in doubt, kindly ask them to explain to you what the position entails...plsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
I later called an uncle that works with NIMASA and he explained further, advising me not to try that programme, that it was meant for those who could not go to school..most especially the northernerns. I thanked and appreciated the guy that opened my eyes and quietly went home.

i wonder why NIMASA have refused to call candidates who passed from Enugu state. Can any body put more light on this issue? why the segmentation?

Rating better pass Cadet if u are a graduate, check the net for the job opportunities.
@Femi, my brother have you not asked yourself why they are interested in only O level. I posted that my story to help people like you not to make gravious mistakes in their career. Why not ask them questions for clarification and be sure of what you are going in for. I wish you all the best if you choose not harken to my words.
