Finally @emergency. There you are!
U didn't live up to the hype. I guess you've know how stupid your intention is.
This clown is Thinking Hard how to storm Aso Rock because "similar" things are happening in the Arab world n recently, Britain! No wonder u can't get a job...u r so poor in doing your research and homework.
I'll stop here for now.
BTW ode I dare you to tell me those Stupid Questions HR asks! Someone has listed some questions but I want to hear yours!
People are so dumb that they believe and/or follow anything/anybody.
A very bright idea is to storm Abuja on Oct 1st, with violence as an option. Oct 1st. Oct 1ST!! I hope yall know what happened in the last Oct 1st!
But funny enough some folks buy the idea in its entirety, without questioning the thought process of the human being they intend to follow.
What's his academic background?
How serious was he in sch?
What did he graduate with?
Can he write a CV?
Does he dress well to interviews?
Does he-like @Nnamdo- expect to be treated like VIP when he goes for interviews?
Has he bettered him self with regards to additional qualification post university?
What sch did he go to? A lot of mushroom schs spring up daily. No need for Jamb as entry requirements.
What did he even study?
Does he regard job interview questions as STUPID?
Is he on medication?
I can't enumerate all the Qs I have for this boy.
Only insecure and gullible ppl will be recruited off the internet to do violence.
However, there are a lot of things wrong with this country. Governments attitude towards job creation can be much better. A peaceful protest (after getting approval from the police - I thought @emergency will know that as a graduate wet him be) won't be a bad idea. Quite honestly, I may join in the March since I'm currently unemployed.
People that don't think will CC happenings in other areas of the world to here in Nigeria. They forget things are different here. That's y we negotiate with terrorists contrary to the US governments advice.
@emergency don't be so sure theyl negotiate with u tho!
I still wanna know those Stupid Qs man. Really I wanna know.
I strongly support you my brother, enough is enough how long are we going to spend money on scratch cards for jobs, internetsurfing and etc please we have to raise a serious mandate on this issue for something to be done...if the FG can do something for MILITANTS and are still kin to doing thesame for BOKOHARAM why cant they do for GRADUATES the are loyal to the society after 5yrs in the tertiary institutions of higher learning????WE HAVE TO ACT WITH ONE VOICE!!!!!! and i believe these are what it REQUIRES FROM US...
"But i guarantee one-day, very soon when graduates starts beating up security men at company gates, slapping HR personnel for asking stupid interview questions, setting ablaze oil companies who give slots only to their family and friends then they will realize that living in hell is next to life in Nigeria.... still watch out OCTOBER 2011..SAVE UR SYMPATHY., WIPE UR TEARS. NO GOING BACK!!!"
I just pick out this quotes above from @emergency post because so many people have concluded or think that this is what our intentions are, come October.
Please, the above action(s) is never our intention but to prevent it from happening in the near future just like he mentioned. He didn't say we'll go all out and do above but for us to do something about it before it turns out to be like boko haram and militants issues . Our mission on October is to conduct a peaceful protest to let the Nigerian government know that the youths of this country are suffering because of their nonchalant attitude towards the area of employment,man-power development, job security, enabling environment to function etc.
The reason why i called some people or persons distraction is because they did not know or understand the purpose of this thread and that is why they selectively pick out the negative comments on this thread to kill the purpose of this movement. I am beginning to suspect that we have government agents here, since they know we are trying to protest against them, they've have been fighting tooth and nail to stop it. Even if you people succeed in putting an end to this noble gesture now, believe me we will try again till we succeed. So i advice you guys instead of trying to kill the spirits of those who wants something good for this country, you better go and advice the government of this country to change for good.
Let me also remind you guys that the person who started this movement and the people that agree to honor it are not dumps but should be considered as heroes. If protest will transform the economy of this country, empower the youths, create jobs, create enabling environments for businesses, provides job security, transform our institutions of higher learning and training centers to be world class etc, please count me in come October. Even if the most stupid person on earth will make this happen, i will follow him or her.
Some are still qualifying somebody base on 2:1 in this country, i just dey laugh(apologies to people with real 2:1, not those that bought it with money)
If i establish my company today(which i will do soon) i will not employ base on the certificate you acquired in this country but your ability to do the job.
Somebody even mentioned that some companies will not see it as a favor if they employ me(which means i am privileged to be working for them). This is just the problem we are having in this country, some of us does not even know our worth. That is why they insult us and because of our mentality we take any rubbish, any insult, disgrace, intimidation, degradation etc they threw our way in good faith simply because we are scared of loosing our jobs.
This is one of the things we are clamoring for 'job security'. Because of no job security, this stupid Indians, Chinese, etc with the help of our brothers will hire and fire at will, increase work load with pitiful working hours and pay peanuts since nobody challenges them, no law in this country allows employee to fight for his or her right. Our women have be turned to indirect professional prostitutes in the name of meeting their targets so as not to loose their jobs.
After all this rubbish someone has the guts to ask me if i should be treated like a VIP in an interview. Let me ask you why won't they treat me as a VIP. I know some companies that does. Do you even know the meaning of hire, they want to hire because they need you to accomplish something which they are lacking, they've have seen some qualities in your academics, your skills, your experience etc that is why they need you. So, yes, you are doing them a big favor by working for them.
@siesy, i don't know you well enough, maybe you're still a very young lad who has a lot ahead of him, but i advice you with this your current mentality you cannot go far in life, you better change and please if you're not in support of this protest i suggest you open another thread, maybe your own kind will join you because every little negative comment from you is killing the spirit of Nigerian youths and you wouldn't want to be responsible for destoying this imperative vision.
Guys we match on, on october no shakin, God dey our side.
And who said we should obtain permission from police first before protesting, the same executive we're protesting against is the one you want us to go and obtain permission from. Very pitiful, how on earth do you think they will grant us that permission?
Please protest is not a crime is a way of reaching out to the government of a country and the whole world by the masses
@nnamdo. Bravo!
I think I brought out the best in you. I'm not your English teacher man.
Since you chose your tone carefully this time, I'll let it slide.
Your write up basically is just to justify the almost insanity of the ambition.
I've already stereotyped you. I feel for you lol.
And uumm, last year I turned down a couple jobs. The pay was too poor for an engr that went through pains to better himself post-university. That's how young I am. I prefer to freelance!
Yeah I'll have a bright future by God's grace.
@nnamdo you are deficient in accessing the feasibility of answers to challenges. You wont get far in life at all. That's for sure!
If you are ok,fine thats you.but others have not had such chance.the country is making things difficult for graduates to survive.millions of graduates are being produced yearly with no jobs.where are we heading?each politician will promise us this, promise us that, but at the end back to zero level.before a vaccancy is advertised, someone has already been primed for the position.this is bad for a country like ours,we have the money, manpower etc but our leaders are breaking us.we have to let them know that we are fade up with all their rhetorics.i surpport the peacefull protest.
#siesy# what is ur problem? wat do u mean by someone wont get far in life...dis is d height of it, u are becomin a nuisance in this thread i started dis thread and i never want 2 see ur post here again, pls keep off..ur opinion dont count, they are childish i doubt u are a graduate.
#siesy# what is ur problem? wat do u mean by someone wont get far in life...dis is d height of it, u are becomin a nuisance in this thread i started dis thread and i never want 2 see ur post here again, pls keep off..ur opinion dont count, they are childish i doubt u are a graduate. u are a disgrace to all holders of that certificate!
Siesy i just read ur comments and saw dat u'r d kind of person dat seek attention. Look not everybody u see here is unemployed. K? U don't tell me what are reasonable questions given d present economic state. "y do u chose a career in total and not shell or mobile?" y would someone ask a fresh grad dat quest. If d interviewee had experience in shell or mobile den it's a perfect quest. K? Look d way u sound here shows u'v not been to up to 3 interviews.
Siesy u'l get more of dat attention u seek once u leave ur mama house and go huzzling. 'Last Born'!! I doubt if u'r a grad. If u'r not some sch r still selling post-ume scratch cards or better still u can e-transact it online. U sound like u just finished mummy food and are going to bed to wake u early on ur bed, visit goal.com. Get into d kitchen to eat beans and plantain ur mum prepared. Shame on u! Men r reasoning and u r blabbing. Infact we demand ur appologies or remain quiet on dis thread!
@siesy, I don't really know what to say to you, I really wonder if U are a graduate or U just passed through school. U are one of the people encouraging the negative attitude of our leaders. Mind U most of us here have one or two things we are doing to keep body and soul together. Mind U also even with 2:1, I still find it difficult to build my career and U think it is funny sey? U are a discourager and I suggest that U don't put up any write up, sit down there and be waiting for people to fight for U so that U can come and enjoy (that is the way most people think and that is why they do not see results). I don tire to dey write test. Naija guys please lets forge ahead with our peaceful protest, but I just feel 1st of October is a very dangerous day (cos of last year bomb blast). Wat do you people think? I believe we should carry out a peaceful protest with a green or white cardboard sheet and a green or white shirt, to make them believe that it is a peaceful protest and we do not intend to hurt anyone. Let us co-operate here and do things with one mind abeg. October is by the corner and we are still laying insults on ourself here, instead of planning. We need positive suggestion so that things can be done accord. If there is any reply. please let the house know. Take care
So i am deficient in finding answers to problems, well if you're such a genius what the hell are you doing here? why are you still unemployed? it is either you are naive, ignorant of what is happening in this country, mischievous or you must be one of the bad eggs that is giving us problems in this country.
You called the purpose of this noble action 'insane'. Well time will tell, just remember the part you played in the whole process.
As for your comment on me not getting far in life,i am sorry to disappoint you, you no be Baba God.
One more thing, if this our little write ups could make president Jonathan set aside N50 billion to tackle unemployment, force the senate to debate on it for once, direct the honorable minister into making plans to renovate and build more refineries etc, definitely this protest which you referred to as insane will go a long way to force our leaders to act instantly on their promises. One way or another, transformation will come into this country. I repeat again "remember the part you played"
lol as if I have to convince this tozo of my academic status.
Yall lack the ability to reason out a write up. So I'm not surprised the crux of my input was missed, despite being glaring.
@emergency don't put up any comment here till you tell me those Stupid Questions you claim HR asks. Well, unless you are not sure of your ignorant self.
@nnamdo you've finally found your manners. I'm still impressed with your tone.
About my saying you'll not go far in life, didn't you tell me that prior?
But the most stupid of them all is @kafox. Your dumbness is awesome. Imagine the total/shell illustration. Dude you are stuck in 1999. Definitely do not deserve to be on the internet. So you mean you don't research on coys and their competition before going for their interviews? Or since your HOD didn't tell you that in school, you think it's irrelevant? It's a pity. Your ignorance is epic! I'll refrain from bringing your mom in to this for now. After all, it's not her fault.
I like people like you tho. I'll be glad if for my next interview, 90% of the interviewees are like @kafox and @emergency.
Clowns go back and extract the crux of my input. A normal person will know that's a smart thing to do.
@Iyke!! @Iyke!! Take time!
@Siesy: na whao, free men nah. Firstly, I don't think any interview question is stupid, they are all form of accessment. No doubt the country's unemployment situation is growing worse and I don't wanna think anyone here is instigating violence but it's a pity the only language our government understand is violence taking a cue from recent happenings withing the country. I support the protest as far as it is a peaceful one. One love.
@heleex. That's a good one
Its high u kept ur mouth shot seisy. Stop being a nerd.
@siesy, you're quick to judge people, insult people. You called us clowns and dumps and now you're talking about input. Your attitude towards people is a complete joke. Can't you see how others who have different opinions on this thread convey their observations. Even if you have important information to pass across, the way and manner you go about it is completely unacceptable.
That's why i said with your current mentality, you won't go far in life not that you'll not go far in life. It is conditional.
Siesy's just a jobless rat who does not think b4 he speaks. Like i said Dumb, not all u c here are jobless like u. Some'r working with highly placed firms. Aiit? Just look at d 'time' some drop deir comments. U'l get to know it's either they'r abt going to bed or gettingg up from bed. Dont always open ur aching teeth to expose ur infant life. I doubt if u have been to ur NYSC. If u have, u'r even worse and sorry for dat. I guess u dont have any planned schedule for the day. Even if u do, it wont be anything other than chatting on d web. May be in the Cyber Cafe. After all, mummy has given u money cos u said u'r going to search for job openings. Anyway d highest rep ur kind of person can ever get in ur lifetime's attracting ppl's attention to urself in a -ve way which u'r doing now. But pity me, too late, i just realized we all in dis thread'v been busy looking at d toddler u r with very very low placed esteem instead facing the real business here. U dont even qualify to be an office assistant to some guys here. Dat, my boy, will be my last word for u. Regards.
I'm compelled by the tone of Siesy to comment here. Let's agree that he's utilizing his freedom of expression. Even though such freedom is abused when foul languages are used on ppl as he's doing.
For instance, saying somebody is STUPID, DUMB, etc. This is too bad especially to fellows. And this tells much abt his interpersonal skills and approach to teamwork, two most important attributes required in all walks of life nowadays.
@all. For progress sake, pls let IGNORE ALL his previous and future posts here. Let's pretend his post is robotic. Just scroll over without even scanning or skipping it. IGNORE I mean TOTALLY.
This is necessary for progress sake, PLEEEEEASE. I can prostrate for u all to ignore him. Thanks (in advance) for doing that.
On the main planned necessary protest, I share Iyke's view. Protest on Oct 1st connotes violence. Wearing green and/or white is very acceptable by me. It represents peace.
@nnamdo I only asked for those Stupid Questions. Go and check the reply you gave.
Then on d location, I'll suggest that it's planned such that it takes place in all states or d 6 geo-political zones simultaneously. Or at least, in Abuja&Lagos concurrently.
They've got no plan 4 us except we cry out.
Our voices must be HEARD!
PEACEFUL pls!
If we fight (PEACEFULLY protest) we may WIN. But if we don't, we've already lost. One love
@kafox is clearly struggling with his diction and use of English. Your posts are terrible. Obviously managed to get through school.
Anyway, I won't bother acquainting you how BB works. You don't own one, guess your coy isn't highly placed afterall.
From your tone, I think your mom is late.
You are hilarious. And umm what write up made you feel I'm job hunting? You attended one of those mushroom schools that's for sure.
"that my boy will be my last word for you". That one cracked me up the most. I bet you feel you made a lot of sense. Wow!
I understand why you want to have a violent demonstration. Clearly you can't use your brain.
Any team with you in it, is the loosing team my friend.
For those that want to antagonize me, I only asked a simple question and these guys thought they could bully me out. They should have been more respectful of other inputs. They should have been smarter.
@ 18 pages one would expect that substance is being discussed here. Yet a deeper look will confirm that Nigeria has and will never lose its unusually high population of comedians. The proponents of this planned protest or circus parade (selfish as they obviously are) will never fail to remind us that castles can actually be built in the air, with really crass foundations.
With special reference to those hoping to emerge as leaders of this circus group - please, the Arab Spring was based on people's dissatisfaction with the government. The main motives were and still are cataclysmic political change (not some disgruntled quest for an ideal Shell type job). I make this post daring any of you to attack the issue and not the person (stop attacking Siesy, Siesy are you there?). And the issue remains: "IF YOU HAD A JOB PAYING AS MUCH AS N500+ MONTHLY AND ARE COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO HANDLE LIFE'S DAILY CHALLENGES WOULD YOU BE PUSHING FOR A PROTEST".
The response to criticism is embarrassing. And for intending protest leaders I expected a level of moderation when posting replies. The spontaneity of your comments shows how disorganized you are. And I dare you all to challenge yourselves on how you would handle Nigeria's most pressing issues?
Lastly, and as you begin to prepare your careless remarks, as a way of showing your dissatisfaction with the system; stop applying to job postings and if you already did so in the past, ignore any invitations for tests or interviews.
I grin as I imagine your feelings of self-guilt with respect to that last sentence.
Waiting....eagerly!!!
@heleex and @obinna-J. Nice one
na wah for una..."supposed graduates" exchanging words like dis..it is very pathetic..we should be talkin about how to surge forward and not dragging this movement back...anyways emergence let us know wat d strategies are ,date, venue for diffrnt locations early enuf so as to stat making arrangements on how to get to various locations..color of wat to wear..i want to encourage u to be strong, forget dos lousy posts as dey are distractions.what is ahead is greater, let it be ur driving force..we can do it and we will do it...our voice must be heard...
u r rainin curses on me @emergency...u realy dnt knw me dat am a blesd man 4lif job or no job so dnt waste ur tim.bt mind u,we al av d right 2expres ourslv.@siesy, pls tak it easy u r too insultive.am d 1st 2opose ds protest.dey av atackd me d way dey r doin 2u.bt its tim 2leav ds guys, dey wil learn.dey ar lukin 4job in oil coy.dey want enablin enviroment b4 dey knw wat 2do.pls leav dem.cnt u c hw disorganisd dey r?stop distractin dem.let dem go ahead.dey wil learn.pls if u cnt suport ds guys anymr dnt dscourage dem.we shal raise ds thread afta d protest.i wish u goodluck
Too many exchange of bad languauges, that isn't the way forward. I can sense that so many people here allow their emotions to control their thoughts. Please, let your head do the thinking and don't allow your emotions push you around. Try to reason and act positively, forget about insulting each other and champion the way forward.
i understand your feelings my brother but the reality is that there are other avenues of reacting to this issue. believe me the nigerian military and police are not democratically and socially trained like the one's we see on telly in the developed countries they will not be able to understand the reasons for the demonstration ,should there be one. Abeg no kill your self o
My good people, I hail!!! First things first...I am Chagrined at the way brothers have been insultingthemselves here...this is WRONG. Siesy...u made some very salient points. Including but nt limited to the issue of the3 questions posted as inappropriate, only the first was inappropriate…the othertwo are questions pertinent. A company’s HR can ask you why you chose theircompany in lieu of their competitors etc. Siesy you should apologise to theseguys – even though you made several insightful inputs to the topic (if all hisantagonists go through his posts without bias, u’ll see that the dude is quiteintelligent), you have been quite saucy. And all those that have misconstruedand insulted siesy should likewise apologise to him. I do not support violenceas a means of going about this, but then this is a catch-22 situation…Even the Israeliteshad to fight wars to possess their possession. Our government should wake up toher responsibilities!!! A peaceful rally should suffice. Enough said I do notadvocate violence. Please house lets stop insulting ourselves!!! Thank you all...

My people, I just noticed that we are focusing our attention on something else. They are some people who are here to distract, yet we give them listening ears. If you people are really down into this action, I believe we have to focus and discuss on the way forward. Before we know wetin go happen, october go reach and we end up being disorganised and failing to carry out the PEACEFUL protest. If you listened to the senatorial debate on the unemployment situation and on how to solve it, you people will just notice that those folks do not have any plan for us. Secondly, if you people had paid any attention to this BPE and their privatization wahala, you people will notice that OBJ, Atiku and their collaborators are the people that have put us in this condition. Thirdly if you people had listened to the ministerial screening, U will all notice that some ministers do not know the unemployment situation in this country ( some said 16%, some said 21%, one even went ahead saying 10%), just because they and their family members are comfortable. Let me specifically mention one's name, the current Minister of Labour and Productivity even went ahead to say that we are better than Uk and the US (so annoying). You people have seen that these guys do not know the condition many Nigerians are passing thru and we are here laying insults upon ourselves, instead of us to be organised like graduates. We are not militants, neither are we Boko Haram. Pllleeeeaaase I beg each and everyone of you to make +ve contributions for this protest and if you not interested, I suggest you should reserve your write up for something else (maybe for the 5 or 10 positions that any comapny will advertise in the future). Wait let people fight for you, so that you can come and enjoy, I just noticed that some graduates do not even know what is going on in this country, come to Abj and see people that cannot speak good English in commissions, ministries, agencies, house of assembly etc. all in the name of connection and man know man, even in the so called NNPC that one GMD will come out and make useless statements about Nigerian graduates and we are folding our hands and probably waiting for God to come down and fight for us. Wait you hear, mind U people I am not jobless. but what I am doing now is not what I am supposed to be doing, I need to build my career and so are some people who have missed their way. If U are in support, let us make good plans and suggestions, even yesterday in Global Business (AIT), someone came up on air and suggested that the youths are the people holding theirselves, that by the time they carry out a protest, the government will know that they are not sleeping. I dey use God dey beg una, if U are not interested, better stop commenting here, so that we can know where we are heading to, cos what I am seeing here is not helping matters at all. Thanks all for your understanding
so many opposition... some believe in an invisible hand to come and revive this crashing enclave...some said we are disorganized, others lamented we have a dumb intention, now i ask, why cant a graduate at my age boast of #10,000 in the bank, why cant i comfortably eat 2 square meals atleast, my shoes are flattened my shirts are faded my trousers are cheap and unfasionable... cant have my hair cut its too expensive...when i get sms invite forTest/interview i call my loyal friends 2 lend all my wears to package for d test, i see different class ofi graduates, many gatecrashers with forwarded sms and mails i say competition is tight., many are called few are chosen the rest are kicked back to d street indefinately...let me tell u this, Nigeria has no plan for no one! becos its clear it is not getting better, fellow graduates lets reason d road to d top in Nigeria is deadly but in unity we can surmount all heights.. its unbearable.
@emergency: I will not let off from telling you and others who care to reason that your agenda has failed. With this last post you have made it clear that yours is more of a personal issue than a social one. Does anybody need to be reminded that the original poster is just an aggressor and has shown the tendency to morph into a fifth columnist if this struggle were ever to make the slightest impact?
Give me the answer to this question: If you were to get your dream job today will you go ahead with your planned protest?
We need a honest answer lest you mortgage the future of well-meaning Nigerian youths for your selfish interest.
Just answer in a sentence of not more that 3 words (i will / I will not).
this is a metaphoric/typical story of a nigerian graduate i am not in any of such circumstance i served with a bank and am working as a research associate with a financial service firm, this is not my story... i cant stand seeing graduates feeding from hand to mouth it is a taboo
i have told u from the begining that u are just a complainer.pls stop all this complain and come up with what u want to do to actualise ur protest.how do u intend to get a police permit,a lawyer other activist etc.come up with something concrete.i have told u that u will learn.u are driven by a personal intrest and not a social one.pls anwer the simple question if u get a job with shell will u stil go ahead.tell us what u are doing to make the protest real.cos at the end of october u will come and say we discouraged u thats y u failed.
