Just a Little advice, Please we should be careful not to use this medium to incite people against the state or government. I noticed the tone of most post is drifting fearfully towards anarchy. The problems in the land can only be confronted with 'IDEAS' not violence or confrontation.
Hi folks!
What we are complaining about is the fact but it can't just end on this platform, we all need to take action by addressing these issues to the appropriate authorities involve. I would suggest we all send a kind of email to the appropriate authorities with a uniform subject, at least with this something could done.
Cheers
we need to meet have ans to the questions that shall be asked, I believe this is the right time for us to get into the constitution of our beloved country, we need to make better and efficient decisions than our so called leaders, I believe we the youth should have a say over that Nigerian Content bill before it is passed since in the long we ll be the ones to work wif it in the long run.
I am in lagos, and i ll like the youths in the rest of the sates to go along wif this at a synchronized speed, Plz remember this is for everybody from the ages of 15 to 35. bcos my father used to boast of getting a job at National Bank at the age of 18 with his sec. schl. cert., y cant we have it like dat dis days eeh, Also the say we r not employable even with a masters degree from the UK? I say the reason we r not employable is bcos we cant stand for ourselves. This is our time so please youths dont let dem make decisions without us plss
I want us to be organized since we call ourselves graduates. no touting, no fighting, we ll show dem who is not employable with our well sorted plans wif time
I say we zone ourselves and also depending on the population per state we shall tell dem how we wanna get employed i have got the solution.
IT'S IN YOU
NIGERIA WILL GET THERE
but GOD will not come down from heaven and solve our problems, but if with God's help this all succeed then we will apreciate God and ourselves better. We can do this.

@MosuonJoseph,C even if we couldnt carry out the peaceful awareness as planned, even if pple like u sabotage our effort, even if the Federal Republic of Nigeria arrest harmless and impoverished youths like us just because we are just asking for little fairness,it does not justify the fact that the nation for now has no good plan for us rather making themselves Task Masters over us and accumulating wealth for themselves and their children. And Y are u so particular of "If person get job now he/she will not support the thread"? Is it not obvious? y should the person shout,is not what we are figthing for? Nawaooo. U should think straight pls, nobody who is in a comfort zone shout for help,we are not crying for nothing.
@jak,i c no reasön y u guys focus on politicians who ar stealin money as if dey startd stealin wen dey got2office.dey startd stealin wen dey wer student, unemployd or junior staff.if u check d emotions of som of us towards ds politcians u wil dscover its just jealousy cos most peopl ar nt difrent.lik i said earlier,am nt dscouragin d move but we must look inward b4 we protest outward.lik i said also i brot up ds topic 2demonstrat 2guys dat topics lik ds com n go,no b 2day.
mosun joseph, now listen i started dis thread and knew i owe a deadly responsibity to graduates reduced to a property of poverty...my elder brother and sisters still uneployed for over 6years becos of HND cert, my younger brorher still roaming d street wit his 2.1 from unilag whether i get a job wit harliburton or pwC i and u graduates must shake Aso rock, yes i was sucesful in pwC But i must suceed on the street too where graduates roam daily...come october 2011 its gonna be a showdown we cannot continue dis way. join us on facebook ''Nigerian Graduate Showdown''that where d action is now. Mosun joshph NO GOING BACK!!!

Is this dead on arrival? I think you should come up with a clear target. State the goals and method of approach to this. I clearly agree something needs to be done and people in high places need to hear, listen and act!
Well, Nigeria is a failed state, but we need to keep on praying for Her. I know that one day everything will be alright. When I read about the World War I and II. I think if the likes of the worl power, Germany, Britain, USSR can be building Ammunition, Aircraft Bomber and Fighter, we too ought to be able to do something. Lets think deeply. We can do without the Government and their wahala.
Greatest upon greatest Nigerian graduates,I hail you all. For weeks now it's been much talk no action. The truth is that Bankole is a saint compared to what most of us will do given same opportunity.
Very few people here think less about self, how do you intend to make such a plan like this work? I know of a fellow that travelled from UK to go and fight in Libya. When asked why , he said it will be a shame that his people are DYING for his country only for him to stay away in a foreign country all in the name of studying.I think that is what I understand patriotism to be (opinion varies though).
I wish I am wrong but with what I have seen most guys post here, we still have a very long way to go in Nigeria.
In unity we stand.... If dis house is able to move towards a goal, Our messgae wil get acoss d natn within an hour. But we must be b4 wise b4 som bitter mind among us cease dat opportunity & turn it to another thing we didnt plan for! It requires undastding to be oustding my bros. Let us be wise & plan wel bcos i like dat idea.
join on Facebook ''Nigerian Graduate Showdown'' Its too late to Layback.
@MosunJoseph if i dont blame govt who will i blame. I know if an average nigerian man has the opportunity to be in govt he will steal but take a look at ibori who was arrested, he stole but along side did somethings in the state unlike the present govt. How do u even start a business, where will u get capital, what will u even sell that people are not selling now. Our pastors keep telling us in church that we are children of God, we cannot be poor, we cannot be jobless blahblahblah, why did they take the easy way out to become pastors or are they not been paid. The era of ur time will come has passed, the time is now. Imagine graduates that graduated over 12 yrs ago still unemplyed and waiting for their time, when will it come, when they are 5o? And banks like Access bank will tell u they want graduate of 24yrs. The prayer for the good of the country doesnt seem to God or maybe He is not answering...na today we don dey pray for naija...haba. Its even getting worse, today we now count how many graduates manage to get employed on merit. Am glad we ve started doing something, though we have some Judas in our midst that will never show up. I have posted the page "Nigerian Graduate Showdown" on my facebook page, lets all do that and add more members to the group. Lets keep spreading the word even via media houses. Lets keep mobilising troops. Like @Chibyk said, heads will roll. I ve heard of peaceful protest ending in violence. Where Govt authorities open fire on citizens. We need to be ready in all areas...our mind, pocke, time, etc
We need to be 1 this time around
Thanks y'all.
date, place and time please
Sorry My friends,
I stopped logging into Facebook because of the discouragement i used to get whenever i i see my class mate and friends posting in their wedding pics and looking mighty which suggest that they are living to expectation.
Mind you,am not jealous nor coveting them but ended up questioning my God and my spirit gets troubled if am the worst sinner or the Lord has forgotten me.
Scripture said,if my eyes will lead me into hell, pls plug it off,is better i enter into heaven with one eye.
in this case,I took that measure to guide my heart and not be blaming my God,also be a good Christian in heart.
i know the word of God says;rejoice with those rejoicing, but when the devil want to play smart,i let him know that i can guide my heart with all diligent.
But am still with u my Brethren.
@jak,u have spoken nothing but the truth.its not jealosy at all it happens to me as well.face book as become the display of success.i realy understand how u feel.
I cannot go back in this presently, I have tried my best in job search. I just feel this is the only job search I can find my voice heard. Mosun or wat eva U call urself, better U sit one place and stop disturbing, our minds are made up. Just as if our lives are paused and U come out and say we should keep praying. I don tire to pray, it is time to act. Take it or leave it come Oct 24th I will be available. Just sit and watch things happen. Take care
nigeria.; d competition is neck tight u see graduates struggling for #10,000 stint jobs. its just a pity! cant govt create opportunities evenly? not 50,000 graduates dying for NNPC uncetain offer. NO GOING BACK!!!
Emergency my brother, no going back, I dey with U, no mind Mosun, can't U see he is related to Ogun state Gov, Amosun. He does not see things. Check this. Where are the 3 refineries that our dear bro Joe promised? where are the fertilizer plants? where is the gas revolution project that was unveild in march? where is the petrochemical plant? NOTHING. All these where just election promises. Is it that they have fooled we youths? They are building new universities, the old ones are not up to standard. They promised constant power supply and everyday the power situation is getting worse. They will just be promising job creation which they give their own people and not creating any, leaving the ordinary Nigerians to suffer. The PIB is no where to be found. How many times have U seen the children of those people visiting this site, and we are folding our hands. Frankly speaking, the only job in this country is just all these private companies that advertise 4 abt 20 positions, ie if it is up to 20, whereby 200,000 people will apply. These our leaders are wreking the resources in this country and U said we should still be praying, as if God is going to collect the money they have stolen and give it back to Nigerians. Guys let us think, we are graduates let us wake up
iyke nice1,Graduates shall we still continue 2 deceive ourselves? u know d way things has worsened its a crime 2 sit back and lament.
Sm1 who hv nt suffered in job search would nt understand. If those in the entertainment industry(who are not as relevant as us to the driving force of the nation's economy)could do it and were given attention to, I believe it is not inappropriate for us to take same action. This fight is not only for us but for our brothers and sisters who are still in the universities soon to become graduates.Sincerely at the present rate of unemployment, a couple of years nw tins would be far more terrible. All the positive words of job creation is just diplomacy. It is very logical, rational, and morally justifiable for sometin to be done NOW to save ourselves and our upcoming siblings from this abiss of unemployment and corruption. Moreover, with the recent trends in this country(Buko Haram, Militant, Strike, etc), it can be concluded that no one will listen to you in this country unless you make them to.SERIOUSLY,something has to be done now to save the future. No going back! I will dig up to find out how those in the entertainment industry were able to organize their own and contribute same.
My dear, come Oct 24th we are going to address many issues. Something annoyed me today, I was passing tru wuse market in Abuja, the next thing I realized was that the road sellers there, were chased out. These where people hustling and fighting for daily bread. The worst aspect of everything was that some of them there were already graduates. This is cruel. How come these wicked people device means of suffering people. We are fighting wickedcraft in this country. If U do not know a senator, Hon. member, DG, Minister etc, U are on your own in this country. My dear look at the customs list that was published recently, U will see Chukwumerije, Ekweremadu etc. and the rest of them there. The worst aspect is that, most of those names there did not even write the test and so is Navy, NDLEA, FIRS, FRSC and so on, then we want to sit down. I was reading Tribune yesterday and saw a pics were some graduates were protesting of the high rate of unemplyment. Someone of age 37, was complaing that he made a good grade and up till now, he is yet to get married. The thing is not only affecting guys, it is also affecting the ladies too because some of them who are due for marriage cannot marry their fiance because of lack of money. My people come Oct. 24th, abeg let us come out enmass and treat this issue once and for all. This is not Boko Haram, it is for our future and those still coming up and it is a peaceful protest. These people should tell us why they have decided to treat us this way. If we have like 20,000 people from each state, especially in Lag and Abuja, I think it will make sense. I know is not everybody that is in support of this, but it is for good. I suggest we march to National Assembly, inviting the media and the rest of them. We call our country the gaint of Africa and we cant prove it. Graduates are suffering and people are roasting everyday cos of this issue facing us. Sit up and face ur challenge. Thank U
Let me tell all of u out there. This will be a success provided everyone unites with one voice.
I hate to campaign or protest, but i was moved to join a movement that brought result. See details below.
I had graduated from a Premier University in 2006, was made to stay at home one full year waiting for d so called NYSC.
News started flying that some of us may not be going for d next NYSC camp even after staying at home for 1 yr with my Degree Certificate in my hand and already had convocation.
My university along side selected schools had a peaceful rally in Abuja and met with d DG of NYSC to make our protest while notifying d media (media like this kind things).
I was glad i joined d protest atleast i was able to make it to Camp. Govt actually listened to us. Moreso DG gave us 350K that NANS was ready to grab all d cash.
So i strongly endorse this movement.
where and time is this show down taking place. And it will be wise if its done peacefully in many states. Emergency it looks like you are the leader. And if possible you must be present in all the protest march. I also think that the police department should be aware of it. So that nobody will open fire on innocent citizens who just want their to be heard.
I stake my hand to the 24th Oct move.
But please my friends,I use to know that clergies instruct the government in extreem situations,i also know that they are respected in the communities,But never heard that they (Clergies,Men of God) are waking up to this challenge of unemployment,i stand to be corrected ooo. Or do we continue having their pat on our back in our respective place of worship saying that is well? Abeg, make them consider us and come out to talk with strong stand to this Task Masters (Government). c,everything don de tire me.
life as a nigerian graduate broke feeding from hand to mouth can u imagine lack in d midst of too plenty...its unbearable! just watch and see! u either be a part or we share ur part..reconsider dis..
well, i hardly make comments here but on this one i want to say we've had it up to here with these promise and fail type of governance, Yes its true we can do a lot of things but why do we need to do that, why should an accountant be selling recharge cards or why should an engineer be a secondary school teacher, how does these experiences count for our hard earned degree, school has then only taught us survival of the fittest not research and development, not technological advancement, no inspiration, aspiration and innovation.........I mean we are so dead and Only God can save even the next generation, if the move for change doesn't start now!
Come 24th oct. Lets start d awarness, lets go on air. Maybe we can use AIT or NTA during 8.pm news in AIT and 9.pm for NTA. WE MUST NT WAIT TILL 24TH OCT BEFORE DOIN ANYTIN. People in abuja can come togeda and start putin up tins in orda b4 then.
tv media, print media all available platform shall be explored. its too late to go back!!!
Much as I see your point emergency the so-call protest will not yield anything because the people we are taing our case to are the cause of the problem who create the unemployment is it the companies or our government who don't want to create the enabling environment for business to strive so just pray for your job and this country.
