Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

A beg O. Make u na take man easy. I sense anger, frustration and if care is not taken Jealousy will creep in. That is dangerous. I have been saying it, this is largely up to 80 % (if not more than) which is even unprecedented in our country. There are so many firsts in this excercise.

The only place I fault NNPC was the length of time it took, but I leanrt that NNPC verified all certificates by the people finally given offer letters before giving them , so on that I absolve them. Aslo FCC issued certificate of compliance. The media person of any organisation will not know everything eg Frank Mba does not know every police issues until he is briefed.

Customs, BOI, NEXIM,NPA, FIRS, NDLEA, NCC, CBN etc all recruited last year. How did it go? Did you hear about them. NNPC advertised on Nov 23rd daily till Dec31, 2010. Those that even applied in January (after expiration) even without uploading credentials like my younger cousin were even e mailed about 2 months later giving them chance to upload the documents.

Nigeria is gifted with Brilliant people. My priest normally asks us to pray for God's blessings not for money or health etc. God's blessings cover all, all encompassing. As years roll, competition gets tougher. Universities are churning out 100+ first class and more Universities are coming on board.

Finally, there is not impossible with God. There could be 2nd batch say in October for induction, who says it cannot happen. Policies are man made and can also be amended /tweeked by man too. Google , doctrine of exigencies/neccesities/expendiency (all over the world, it happens).

With connection, you will not even join with mass entrance, or are you people saying that no graduate has joined NNPC since 2006 recruitment? A note can from up or being Policians' ward can do the magic. To me this process is largely free and fair.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Good mornin guys.i urge us to look away from this mess created by unemployment.269,000 candidate that applied were first class and 2.1 candidate, the number succesful stands at 595.does that mean the rest are not empolyable?we shuldnt have expected them to recruit more than this number after six years since vacant positions are constantly being filled.the big question is how?

The last recruitment done by the corporation was in 2006,how have they being coping? If you are a common man,you need the grace of God to survive, the grace that was given to the 595.i am not questioning the credibility of this process, but SOME OF US WILL HAVE BEEN INVITED IF THE NUMBER IS MORE THAN 595.people get employed by nnpc on daily basis and there is no need to be bitter about it(the same apply to other institutions in the country).let us watch as the event unfolds.

What i dont understand is why engr yakubu had to brag about his daughter.if he realy want her to be employed can anyone stop her?remember the process was delayed hence a good number of candidates will not accept the offer, then the so called big guys who are aggrieved will be compensated with the vacant slots.if this is done, the credibility of the whole process will have been affected and there will be no press confrence then.

I have decided to stop hopin of gettin anytin out of the waitin list becos i can compete with those who are waitin for it.guys, we shuld try and move on with our lives.lets keep prayin for this nation.if not for the unemployment situation in the country,a recruitment that lasted for almost two years shuldnt have been an issue,it shuld have been a thing of the past.

One person among us-name withheld-wrote a letter to NNPC management, insulting them that some people resumed duty secretly, the exercise was not fair this and that, inshort he/she called them several nasty names.8 days later, the list was released, and the person happened to be one of the successful ones, the person now quickly wrote another letter to apologize and to COUNTER the earlier statement. So i don't blame anybody for any personal conclusion and aggrieved utterances, such is life.

What other background check do they need from such a guy. In a private sector, that guy will never be employed as he will one day give them headache.

You are so sure I went for interview? Are you sure I am not among those that did not do test and interview and was waiting for my name to get swapped only for me to be disappointed and disgruntled and this led to my ranting and raving?

@All, pls lets begin to reason like mature human beings on this thread. You dont write such an insultive letter to your prospective employer and end up with an employment letter in your hands. Not in Nigeria or any other part of the globe. For the GMD telling us that his daughter was rejected in the selection process, i think he is only trying to toy with our collective intelligence just like Dishonourable Farouk Lawan did by telling us some people were chasing him about to bribe him. At least we now know who was actually calling for the bribe. For heaven's sake the daughter of an NNPC GMD does not need to wait endlessly for this protracted recruitment to join the NNPC. NNPC thru its more than ten subsidiaries recruits(in-house) at least every week, so the daughter of an NNPC GMD can conveniently join the NNPC without any stress or any one on this forum hearing such. Infact that comment by the GMD has actually sold him out. That is not to say that there was no level of transparency in the entire process or that there were no serious manipulations here and there. I still maintain that in the EH cadre where my interest is vested on, most of the intakes were based strictly on referrals and high level recommendations. That is not to say that anybody's name was swapped bcos during any competitive federal recruitment as this, some slots are specifically used to favour some high ranking members of the Nigerian society who always have long lists of candidates in tehr kitty. You dont expect me to come here and be citing specific cases or mentioning names cos if i equally received such an offer, i wouldnt have declined. Personally i see it as favour and i bear no grudge against such beneficiaries cos thats the way the Nigerian society has been structured right from the begining & the same modus-operandi applies to some other climes as well. As the second list comes up either as a complement or as a supplement to the first list, always bear in mind that despite the present uprisings, the will of God will always prevail bcos HIS WORD IS YEAH & AMEN!. That is why He is THE ALPHA & THE OMEGA.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

my dear jonkal and angel4life, that is the problem with us nigerians. we never tell ourselves the truth we want to believe those lies and expect to move ahead. Even if i didn't have the privy information i have now and someone comes to tell me that the recruitment was credible, i'll question it because i would wonder when NNPC started doing things the right way. The recent audit report still indicted them in so many of their activities. The only thing i get to hear from saying the truth is that i am frustrated, jealous, envious, e.t.c.

Like i had said, it is not for you to tell us it was God that did it. God knows those that swapped and came here to tell us they dont know anybody. That one does not get the job does not mean the person is worse of in life. God may even have something better for some of us. I'll reiterate what i had said earlier. If I see someone to help me I wont even think twice about it.

GMD would not tell you anything less than what he had said but you and I know the truth. I am still congratulating those that got the job. But am not buying the idea(because that is what it is) that it was a fair one.

The GMD's comment with respect to the rejection of his daughter as an applicant of NNPC to butress the corporation's claim of a truly transparent & equalled-opportunity recruitment exercise is an assault on the sensibilities of every right thinking Nigerian. If he wants pple to take him serious, all he needs to do is to make public a notarized list of test scores, interviewed applicants & dier scores,& that of successful candidates statin details of discipline & state of origin. Those wld do all d talking for him. How transparent cld an exercise be when not a single detail abt d selection process & parameters for selection has been publicised.I congratulate those who made it oweing to their hard work esp d GTs & Ops.That not a single EH was taken frm a couple of states is enuf to cast doubt & aspersions abt d credibility of d exercise. Madam minister is only towing d path of Charles Soludo only for same to be exposed & corrected by d successive leadership. Same wld soon happen wit d NNPC & time wld judge.

I wonder while the immediate past GMD Eng. Auston complained of the failure of aptitute/skill test. That 80% of applicants failed. The way he sounded, i thought even the 20% that passed were nt enough to be employed. Surprisily only 595(14%) of 4000 interviewed were offered employment. What a shame.
