If I start to narrate stories of events that have happened around me, including the ones around people I know, u will then understand that truly, whatever will be in this life, will be. You can also look around you, reflect on events that have happened around u, ur friends and meditate on them.
Securing job isn't always about being the most intelligent/smartest graduate applicant, it takes:
1. God's favour
2. Destiny
3. Timing
4. And in fact, grace.
I can boldly tell you that most people here still job-hunting are far better than those working in top rank companies. And it doesn't mean that all those working in top companies bribed their ways or knew somebody, but its cos they were favoured and chosen by God to be there.
See, in life, if someone is not destined to help you, there is nothing u can do. And if someone is destined to help u, they won't even know when they will help u. If they like, let them keep running away from it, but they will.
In fact, I have uncles, relatives, etc working in top companies, some as managers, HR officers, etc who are supposed to help me but none have, and God knows I am not angry with them or keeping grudges against them cos I know that only those that are destined to help me in this life will help me. They might not even be people I know, they might not even be from my family or friends. Or maybe the time for them to help me hasn't come yet. And this applies to all of us here too.
See, I have lots of friends, course-mates who got cute jobs without knowing anybody, and most of them were the dullest students we had then in school, in fact, most graduated becos of people like me. I am not bragging, God forgive me if I am ignorantly. In fact, most of the excellent students I know are still struggling to get a good job or even a job at all, whereas some of those we thought would find it difficult are in top places now.
I have this friend that decided not to apply for any job after our NYSC, saying he isn't ready to face all those job hunting, again he graduated with 2/2, so he joined Yahoo boys. Guess what?
In d process of doing Yahoo, he met a foreigner whom he wanted to defraud, but the foreigner told him that he isn't interested in the biz, that he knows about Nigerian scam, and that its because my friend doesn't have a job, that that's y he's doing scam. He told my friend that he would help him give him a job.
The foreigner happened to be a member of a family that own a top multinational firm here and he referred my friend to the company and that was how he got hired with excellent package that he never dreamed of. Can you see? Someone that went to defraud someone ended being pitied and helped?
I participated in the last NNPC recruitment, went for the interview, etc, but wasn't called at last despite the fact that I performed excellently at the interview. At least, when u fail an exam/interview u ought to know if u are a good student.
I have also reached Glo final screening, wasn't called despite the fact that I was a mentor to others that were invited for medicals.
In fact, if I tell you guys how many top rank companies that I have been to their final interview but wasn't called for medicals, you would pity and cry for me. But you don't have to pity me because I know God knows why and I know that maybe the time for me to get into those firms hasn't come or I wasn't destined to be in those firms.
Not all of us are destined to work in top rank firms like NNPC, Shell, Mobil, Chevron, NLNG, etc, not all are destined to even work for someone.
Some are destined to suffer, work hard and finally discover their route in life, and maybe own their own powerful businesses and companies that would employ people.
Some people are destined to nurture their own business/company and employ people, but if they secure a good job now, they would stop working hard or will never think of establishing their own business, and they were destined to employ others, so what will be the fate of those that they are supposed to employ in future if they secure a good job now? Of course destiny won't allow them get that glossy job that will stop them from owning their own firm.
Some are destined to work in top rank companies, some entertainers, clergy (men of God), sportsmen, etc.
Some are destined to work in low rank companies and then save up capital to establish their own businesses.
Some are destined to be entrepreneurs.
Some people might not even make it big like they dream now, but maybe at later age or maybe their children or children-children will rule this country and be in top places.
So, let's not kill ourselves. Just do your best and leave the rest for God and destiny. Stay blessed and happy Sunday.
