Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
You might be wondering???? WHO IS KAIZER SOUZE? This same question was asked in the movie "The Usual Suspects" By Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin etc. KAIZER SOUZE is a shadowy figure. You think you know him enough but my bet is that you know nothing of him.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Nostalgia. The usual suspects 1995 one of my greatest movies of all time.
From ur info I can only see this being in favour of hopefuls. Their a general apprehension all over nnpc as it is believed that most pple get paid for doing nothing, especially the guys at the kaduna refinery who gulp 12bn annually and krpc has been dormant for close to three yrs now.

The deregulation process would rather strengthen the NNPC as a regulator of the industry and encourage more private investment in refining, as envisioned in the PIB. It is true that business will not be as usual especially with PPPRA and subsidy disbursements, but I think things will return to normalcy after this political impasse is amicably resolved. Afteral, AGO has long been deregulated and NNPC did not fall apart.
This is time for us to thread our words with caution. Remain blessed!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Dear hopefuls, some positive strides have been made today. We formally presented our case along with the newspaper publication to Hon. Farouq Lawal, Chairman of the House Fuel subsidy probe and he promised to raise the issue tomorrow before the end of the house probe, despite the fact that the subsidy probe is of a different subject matter.
Also, some other house members have accepted to take up the issue including Hon. Eucharia and Deputy House Leader - Hon. Leo Ogba. Another appointment with Hon. Ogba is fixed for tomorrow morning before the hearing. Pls keep glued tomorrow to your TVs for the DPR budget defense and NNPC fuel subsidy probe.
Something positive is definitely coming out of this sooner than we expect. There is surely light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Bebrief,u are a great guy.wel done.i just hope dat tins wil end wel.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Bebrief, thanks for the update. @All, you may recall that the aim of the publication was to let the public know about the long recruitment process and possibly get the attention of the National Assembly to intervene. And so now that we have a breakthrough of a listening ear from the House of Reps, we may not be keen on seeing any more publications of the article by other News houses that we have contacted. Our intentions are good and we rely solely on God for something positive to come out of this. Gudnite!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@bebrief I must sincerely commend your courage, selflessness and brevity in forging the way forward for the NNPC hopefuls. Once again I salute you. However, a yoruba adage says "moja mosa ni jee akinkanju" meaning knowing when to fight and knowing when to run is what is termed as being brave. The message has been sent through the publication, we have passed our message to the Hon. members, I felt we should now seat back and watch hoping that they will give us an explanation to what is happening. I am of the opinion that we should not push any further so that the whole thing will not be hijacked and/or backfire at the end of it all. And you know what is you that lead the campaign that will be roasted.
By the way, let us remember that neither did we force NNPC to put up an advertisement for vacancy nor invite us for test/interview; they did that at their own volition. I also know that when they are ready they will invite the successful applicant. Please, lets give them time. Moreso, are we going to work in a chaotic house/enviroment let them put their house in order first and I'm sure they will do what is right thereafter.
My opinion please.

I agree with ur 1st paragraph but the 2nd one is a complete farce.
Nigerians have been deprived and intimidated so much so that we have turned to beggars in our own country waiting for crumbs from the elite.
NNPC and other govt agencies owe it to us to provide jobs and employment opportunities annually. Look at the practices of multinational coys, who recruit yearly and u make it sound like its a privilege for them to conduct this exercise, well not to me.
Looking at the big picture, if at the end a law is enacted giving a stipulated time frame for recruitment into govt agencies that's a bigger prize than being employed in nnpc.
Also what better time and opportunity will we get to bring attention to ourselves.if the house is in chaos, bringing this up now will enable us be part of their reform process.
Bro stop thinking about urself and fearing a backlash against the process it will surely be concluded. A true leader is not scared of being "roasted". We have a right to know.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ Debrown,
I hope taking this matter to the house committee will not cause more harm than good. Some members of the house who were not aware of the recruitment will all want their candidates in the list thereby removing from the list the names of those who have being waiting all these months.
May God help us.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@MOUNT PISGAH, it's also possible that you keep quiet and fold your hands and the entire recruitment process can be outrightly cancelled without any reason, and you can do nothing about. Which do you prefer? It's either you do nothing or you do something.
Heaven helps those who help themselves!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
This is especially the time 2 start praying 4 the following reasons: 1. The politicians who we may feel will fight our cause, may use the opportunity 2 plant names of those who did not even apply. 2. The corporation might cancel the whole process. 3. Media info is mostly interpreted as confrontation. Let's pray all goes well.
-
We have prayed and we are still praying about this recruitment. So, there is nothing to fear about. I have been saying it and i am still saying it that we shall all laugh at last. So, be calmed as God is on our side.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ Angel4Life: The battle is mine says the lord of host. No fear no weapon fashioned against us will prosper. According to Gen Sakabu the Minister is in Geneva i believe immediately she returns the recruitment process will be fast tracked. They have already tried to use their influence even a top ranking official told me personally that some NASS members tried but Madam Minister refused to be intimidated. Do you think the ones eyeing NNPC PPMC PPPRA and DPR are not on the look out. They are following it even better than most of us.
In any case they (NASS ASSEMBLY) will all receive a breakdown of the expected budget from MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM especially now with this current Investigation about corruption they will have a second look at all the documents they tender to the national assembly and whether we like it or not they will know about the recruitment because under NNPC it might be N4,000,000,000.00 for recruitment training induction of lets say 1000 GT and 300 Experienced Hires then the GMD will have to defend the budget and explain how they arrived at that figure.
Finally God who is the maker of heaven and earth will ALWAYS FIGHT THE BATTLE and those that put their TRUST will never be ashamed.
Do all have a splendid weekend ahead.
God bless all of us

It will not affect us in any way, the Corporation is set to get it right. As it stands now NNPC cannot compete with other Oil Companies be it multinational or indigenious in terms of human capacity and innovation in the oil and gas business. They have since realised this, but there was no proper justification to do what they are doing now. This is surely the right time to downsize & reshuffle the current workforce, and absorb the Nov.2010 Recruitment hopefuls into the system. It leaves us with the fact that so much will be expected from us as soon as offer letters, induction, Postings and training is done with. See you on induction day. AMEN

So sorry u lost ur job. Hope u were not a victim of the recent retrenchment by intercontinental bank. I believe God is preparing u for something better.
