The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) said that it will within the next couple of weeks begin to issue letters of employment to 250 successful applicants who have been on its recruitment waiting list for a while now.
Director of DPR, Mr. Austin Olorunshola, reiterated at the third triennial branch delegate conference of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) in Abuja that department was grossly under-staffed and had concluded all required processes to dispatch employment letters to the 250 people that it had shortlisted for employment across its offices in the country.
He added that the 250 new employees would subsequently undergo induction and training exercise as soon as the letters are sent out to them.
Olorunshola who had earlier in the year told the National Assembly in defence of DPR’s proposal to spend N30.399 billion out of a total budget of N35 billion for the 2012 fiscal year on recurrent expenditure that the DPR had a current staff strength of 1, 108 with projections to employ 250 more, noted that the recruitment exercise, which started in 2010 will eventually be concluded in a matter of weeks.
He said: “I am speaking from my heart here now; the event of the past months has really taken a lot from us especially when you consider issues surrounding the petrol subsidy palaver where we had people cheating and doing all sorts of bad things to rip off the country.
“But I want you to equally understand that our reform in the sector is not a personal thing, it is not personalised but a desire to see that things are done rightly, to leave good legacies for the country’s oil and gas sector.”
He decried the present structural formation of the department which he explained, required urgent restructuring in sync with contemporary operations in the industry.
“It is almost impossible to function with remote technologies and slim staff strength as the department is presently forced to do with and remember that security of personnel and oil installations is a big issue coming up much more recently. We have concluded all processes to issue out letters of employment to 250 applicants that had been shortlisted for employment by the department and that will be done soon, within weeks from now,” he said.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Interpret the scripture below in respect of this 2nd list;
Mark 5 :22-24
22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet 23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.
Mark 5:35-43
35 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”
40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.

Friends i know its not easy, when u are confronted with an obstacle that seems impossible. U pray & pray, yet it seems as though its not working. Hmmn! The powers that be are the cause of the delay. If not, by now testimonies should have almost ended. They dont want it to end until they have an input on the list. When they are tru with their additions, they will let it flow. It is well

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
One thing I know is that our leaders do not act on issues until they see public complaints. See how NNPC 1st batch was called, the week the publication wanted to come out, now after DPR Applicants Appeal Letter in dailies, DPR is now saying in next couple of weeks the successful ones would be called (THISDAY Sept 18, 2012 news). So from Q1 of 2012 appropriation bill, DPR had not gotten any funds? Why is it after public outcry? This is what I have been saying on the remaing batch of 2010 NNPC new employees bcos the ball is our court.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Faith without taking actions doesn't work. DPR Hopefuls' Appeal Letter in dailies is paving way for them afterall.Lets pray and take actions on the 2nd list of 2010 NNPC recruitment regardless of the new job advert. If DPR (regulatory body) could be ready to take 250 so why 595 from NNPC (regulatory and operational govt. organization)?

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@bb1,one may be pissed off by the supposedly delay in the 2nd batch, but just as Terraco pointed out the other day,NNPC will tell the world that they have concluded that recruitment. As a matter of fact, they have begun a new one. Let us relax, if NNPC is our bread, God will butter it,just relax.
-

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Thank you. One must wonder when the new job advert came out at this time .Even NNPC was persuaded to advert for jobs , I know that NNPC would simply say it just employed few weeks ago but why new advert when a satisfactory number of succesful candidates is yet to be made. That is what is not cleared to me.Would NNPC tell us that it could not make provision for higher number of new empolyees(at least 1000) in the 2012 budget rather than 595 officially, small funds were released for it?

So what are you suggesting we should do?
Carry placards and protest for non-release of a supposed 2nd batch?
Contribute another money and advertise/protest for the 2nd list to be released? Is it not ridiculous?
Remember this list can only be born by faith and not by sight.
If you have any better suggestion as to what we should do other than prayers and patience, please let us know.
God bless you for all your good efforts.

Any time you are confused about anything in life, especially unfavourable conditions, go to God in prayers.
Whenever you make comments of being confused/frustrated/helpless about what is going on in the towers,it makes your detractors feel you really do not have any source that told you another list will be out.It also portrays you as someone that has no faith in your prayers.
Sorry I have to be responding to your posts from now on.We are to be our brothers' keepers.
God bless you.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@bb1, u need to be calmed at this stage. Engaging in funny activities may jeopardize the whole thing. The 2nd batch is a secret thing. Do not try any publication regarding this 2nd batch. It must come when they are ready. So, @bb1, take it easy. Do not be carried away by what is happening im dpr.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Try to understand my points well b4 writing comments on my post. Many of us have reliable sources about the 2nd batch who told us from the 1st day the 1st batch was released and at the same time we believe God for it. Many even confirmed its readiness which some of us don't know about. B4 1st batch was released, why did hopefuls plan publications and protest after prayers? the fact some people had been called and we heard of 2nd batch, we shouldn't talk again. Afterall many people waiting for 2nd batch had applied for the new advert,so whatelse.Pls try to understand point well bcos nobody is confused or frustrated, get it right.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
JAJAMARK, be patient to read and digest opinions well. Even most reliable sources here who many forumites are relying on therir posts had been clamouring for why the delay in the next batch with reason,so waht are you saying?Honestly we don't expect the little batch to be up till now.Or u have not been reading what being posted here?
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
The same thing happened b4 1st batch was called, some were saying ha if u do this do that they might cancel the recruitment.People should be try to understand and digest opinions of others b4 reacting.Bcos now NNPC would be saying a new job portal had been opened to distract us but why should it be like that? We shall see the end of this 2010 recruitment by the grace of God.

Sorry if I got you upset. But please what do you advise 'we' should do?
1st batch and the plan to do a publication was reasonable based on the fact that nothing was said about a whole recruitment.
But just as you said, the 2nd list is a very top secret. So how do we approach it differently than praying?
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
That is why I said u didn't understand my posts. I'm not saying u should go and protest for non-release of 2nd batch.Pls and pls,I beg u to understand my write-ups well. If u like u don't need to agitate for what you want.I u like u can keep quiet. This is open forum which we express our opinions.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Now u are understanding me. I wasn't calling for any protests but means of channeling our opinions on the 2010 recruitment to NNPC, are they not Nigerians in NNPC management? Apart from Terraco's posts , many of us were told of the next batch which we have been praying for. Shortly, another jobs advert was released on what basis? And many 2nd batch hopefuls believing God for its release had massively applied , why doubting its release? Many are saying if it comes fine, if not fine, I hate that.pls just reason with my posts.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Many people believing God for 2nd batch had applied for the new advert, if it comes fine ,if it doesn't come fine. Why doubting God? After 1st batch , after new advert many lost hope, why? And this new advert is not closing today or tomorrow , it should be around October 14, 2012.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
The issue of the second batch is a sensitive one. If you make any public noise about it, questions will arise like:
1. Who told you there is a second batch?
2. Didn't you see the advertisement for the new recruitment?
3. How do you know the 2010 recruitment has not being concluded.
The only thing we can do about this is to pray for the release of the second batch. Not much we can do because if you do anything funny, the second batch will die finally.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I spoke with my contact today.he didnt sound optimistic about the second batch thing.he said that politicians had hijacked the whole process shortly after the interview.the recruitment board were under serios pressure and later succumbed.the issue sorrounding the recruitment was discussed in a meeting held at markurdi.he said that the exercise was far from being credible.according to him,the 595 was an official number of those employed by the corporation, many candidate who has 'serios connections' have been given the offer.the number employed is well more than 595.this were his words.guys,i felt so bad when the list was released, becos my name was confirmed shortly before that.now, however,i have dusted it off.i am now thinking of other things.the second batch thing is not sure, the probability is a very slim one.

top secret = fraudulent/back door/illegal/'runs"
I wonder why anyone will petition God on something that is fraudulent. is your God a God of illegality?

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
You people should ignore Ezme. He is just here to dampen our morale. I have seen a lot of threads that did not make sense to me and what I did was to ignore the thread. Any right thinking person would just ignore a thread he/she feels has outlived its usefulness instead of coarsing people to agree to his terms. We are all wired differently so are our thought processes but the best we can do is to leave the daydreamers (for lack of the right word to use) to continue to daydream(I happen to fall into that category). Moreover nobody here is idling away waiting for NNPC to call.
Meanwhile ABCD123 is so desperate for DPR job but comes here to ridicule NNPC Hopefuls. I want to believe that ABCD123=Nkechiu=Ezme.
That's my 2 cents.

@least there's a probability..meaning we stil have a chance..aint we so lucky
