Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Don't even start what you cannot finish. Are you saying that foreign certificates are different from ours? The only problem with ours is the nigerian mentality. It is in all sectors of the economy. We dont appreciate our things. We prefer it foreign. Could you believe that nigerian were the most people that shopped in the last olympic? Does that mean we dont have those things here? We are ourselves problem. Everybody is going out to get a foreign degree even if it is from a mushroom university abroad. shebi they have started cracking down on those univeristies in UK starting with london met. There is no university that will teach you what you are to learn on the job in the walls of the university. The problem here is that we dont have opportunity to practice what we learnt and the longer you stay out of job the more rusty your knowledge is. Why do nigerians travel out and excel in their field? The only problem we have here is lack of opportunity to practice what we have learnt in school and not that what we have learnt in school is not good enough.
Maybe you travelled out for your education and was fortunate to get this NNPC job but that does not give you the right to come here and insult people's qualifications. If you cant defend yours then its your problem. Afterall we all know what went down in this recruitment process.[
QUOTE=ezme;689925]Many people here are just sore losers. Its common knowledge that Nigerian Universities churn out half-baked graduates every year. These graduates actually lack very good theoritical foundation. They read only to pass examinations and not really to add knowledge and value. This is typical of most engineering graduates. what they have left after graduation is residual knowledge. You see them on job boards/fora asking for past questions and test formats whenever they are shortlisted to take a test. They expect to perform wonderfully after this fire-brigade preparation approach. People are recruited based on compentencies they can demonstrate they possess, this has nothing to do with having a 2.1 or first class. You see them getting all religious, turning job vacancy threads to fellowship meetings and prayer rooms. The sensible ones focus on getting better and read daily to update their knowledge. So you believe the 595 people who got in did so with political connect? Wake up!!! Focus on getting better, opportunity favours the prepared man. Coming here to whine about recruitment policies will not make you better neither will it get you a job. Change your perception and fix yourself, those who got the jobs are humans too.[/QUOTE]

The fact you cannot analyse textual information is the reason you are still on this thread whining while the successful ones and sensible ones have moved on. What part of my post glorified foreign certificates ? The fact you can't even read and understand simple premises only shows why you should read and improve on yourself. My assertion stated "most engineering graduates" not "all", so if you see the need to find that offensive, then you fall into that category. Employers recruit people based on competencies. FYI I don't have any foreign certificate, the truth they say is bitter. Put seniments aside and gear towards self-improvement, you alone can tell yourself the truth.

Oh God of elijah, arise in ur mercy & answer us tonight. Take away sleep from the Gmd tonight & cause him to have compassion upon us. Let the management approve a speedy release of this second batch. We are expecting it next week & we pray our expectation shall not be cut short in Jesus Name. Amen

Ezme, you have right to your opinion. And at what point did I say a foreign certificate is better? Please take your time to follow the thread before you accuse people of things. All I did was emphasize the need for continuous self-improvement. Firstly, I never said I was better. I would say I'm just above average, but unlike you, I'm objective when I speak and I don't let sentiments cloud my judgment. People are already coming here to discourage others from applying for this 2012 recruitment. Most of you don't even see the need for a fresh recruitment. But, do you realize that more people have graduated since 2010 till now? Don't they deserve a chance to be in NNPC? Is NNPC supposed to take all 5000 of you and wait till 2018 before they recruit again? We should try not to pursue self-interest all the time.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Make all of una go sleep. While you are lambasting one another, both foreign trained and nigerian-trained graduates are getting jobs.

To answer some of ur questions BB1. Its more like a tradition for Nnpc to recruit every two years. In 2014, by God's grace they will advertise again. So thats one reason the new advert came out. Now about weda only non-technical candidates making the 2nd batch, If i'm sure of any thing, i'm sure that "Gt technical" are on the list bcos someone's name has been verified. The training @ PTI will recieve them soon. The only problem for warri na rain rain rain. Morning

@ozubeco: From what he had told me, @most, the calls should come next week. I cant get an update from him every day cos it wont be reasonable. I need to give some days interval before i get in touch. I'w verify, lets just be patient.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Even if you are Wole Soyinka the literal guru(infact Wole Soyinka's books i read were quite easy to comprehend). How come everybody does not understand what you wrote. You need to go back to school to learn how to articulate your writing and convey your message to your audience.
Instead of moving on with your NNPC job, you come here to rub it off on us that with our local degree, we wont move any forward. As if you dont know that most NNPC engineers schooled in Nigeria. If not for the recent craze for foreign certificate..... Quote:

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Who told you people are not doing something else alongside waiting for the second list? A lot of people have advised that in the past including me and you just appear from nowhere to insult the hopefuls. I have also interviewed people in my work place and competence is the least of the criteria for entry level. My friend i advise you to google osita onuma and you will know it is not all about foreign certificate. You cant be competent in what you have never done. It seems you cant defend your certificate.
Instead of moving on with your job, you are coming here to rob it off on us that because we dont have foreign certificate, we are not competent. Whoever told you that most of us here are not working? Recruitment these days are based on who you know so if i dont get a job i was interviewed for, I dont even have to feel i am not competent. It is because I did not press the right button or better still God does not want me to get the job. The system has left us with no option than to believe that if you dont get a job you applied for then you dont know the right people and that is what should be addressed. If we begin to see that competent ones are being picked for the jobs, our orientation will change too. The system is so bad now that it is not the competent ones that get the job in most cases or are you telling me that all GEJ's candidates are competent? Our problem is not solved if we leave issues and pursue shadows. I am sure if all of us start reeling off our qualifications here, this thread will not accomodate it.
Nigerian factor is what is killing us not competence.

@ezme u made a valid point......yes people should better themselves by updating their knowledge BUT i think u r driving ur point with so much negativity. I'm just at a loss how u were able to conclude that people are not presently involved in one thing or the other...that people come online to post expectations on a likely 2nd list does not mean they dont have other endeavours. Personally i dont care if anyone got into nnpc through political connection (in d first place to know someone that can help u is also God's grace) BUT if some other people think that way, my brother they are entitled to think whatever they like. what they think is not my business neither is it yours. You complained about people whining...but u do d same or whats ur business with people turning job fora to fellowship centres... U made some excellent points but sincerely ur bad manners n negative personality is more striking than ur points. Work on ur attitude..u can be a better person

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Mr tunapawizzy, that was a perfect reply for deluded, arrogant and haughty fellow like ezme.
He rushed to a public forum saying rubbish and generalizing. There are pple doing masters,Phd and working here. I dont know when it became a crime 4 pple air their views and frustrations. The last time i checked freedom of speech, expression and association were still human rights. Am sure if some of us here should challenge u to a contest even in areas you 'advised' about u may fall short. Pls be guided.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
See bashing oo!
My advice:For those waiting for 'our' list, better ignore some posts and keep on praying to God.
For those who have the job already, just watch what 'we' are posting, shake your head if you do not have any info and close the thread.
Mind you,it will take some of you years to earn the kinda salary some of us 'hopefuls' are already earning even working outside NNPC.
I refuse to be distracted.
Whether 2nd list o,atomicity's dream list o, or 2013,it is a must that I will get what I am looking for by God's grace.
Letz keep the thread alive.

Maybe you expected some 'euphemism', not everyone is wired like that. Some people tell you what you want to hear, others tell it as it is. Too bad you seem to get negative feelers from it. But, remember its written and not oral, so the tone in which you read it determines how you react to it.

Please let's leave ezme alone to his views, getting a job is one tng, keeping the job is one, keeping with good appraisal is another.Tnk God most of us have jobs here and I know pple with over. 12 yrs experience in banking in this same forum living in their houses, these same sets of pple have been part of interview panels as well.this forum is not to count achievements (both academic and career )and neither is it for jobless/hopeless pple as insinuated by some folks here. There is success and there is good success, even if u are a teacher u can still achieve the later.Attitude gives over 100% .I advice that we work more on our attitudes and sky will be the begining, even if you er living on minimum wage.good morning folks.believe me,with or without NNPC job ,God will take so many pple here to great heights.do have a nice day.

FYI I'm not with NNPC, I was not part of the last exercise. I can see you really need this job and I wish you all the best as regards the proposed second list. Enjoy the freedom of speech which this platform provides. Job boards are for information dissemination not to start a pity-party like most people come here to do.

When a man choses to support an argument with verbal assaults, it is either the man or the argument is weak. Most times both.
Judging from your grammatical construction, your kind would come back here to whine about not making the list because you have no godfather.

Terraco, you are doing a good job for this house and my prayer for you is that the favour of God will not depart from you through you career.
