Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
It depends on the category u took in the test/interview. Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Elect/Elect and Phy,Electronics or other related disciplines are fit to IT.Ur scores in the test and interview matters with God's favour.

JAJAMARK, na you get time replying Dandaura and co. Concerning what Engr. Yakubu said on his daughter, if today Engr. Yakubu is ready to put his daughter in Shell, Chevron , Total, its go talkless of NNPC. So forget what he said. JAJAMARK, welldone for enlightening Dandaura and co, I think they need more explanation.

Victory is sweet, sweet victory, but remember that some others are still waiting for their miracles. Posting negative news in here and forcing it down their throat won’t help.
I had pleaded earlier on for people with bad news not to post it here, no matter how good your intentions are. Let us continue to hope and ‘deceive’ ourselves as you said until we can no longer hold on.
Remember all of us also have the so called 1st class & 2.1 required just like those selected. Grace has given you the job for now and higher grace has made ‘us’ to wait.
I am writing this not for myself but for the pains of those with nothing doing. Personally I am interested in NNPC for national pride just like someone just said. Stop making it seem as if we are doing nothing but just waiting for second list. I am so gainfully employed that I had no time to read from this thread for 2 days. I am not only delayed in entering NNPC but NNPC is being delayed from having a great talent like me in their team.
Watching Usain Bolt & those Kenyans/Ethiopians makes one know that God can bless us in diverse ways we cannot even imagine…….running!
I said and I repeat…their process is always fair from little experience I had. However, even in that 2005 that Accenture was told to recruit 400 GTs, they were 605 inside the induction hall and more outside with letters from diverse powerful people. The 205 of course belongs to the powerful, but the 400 must have been on merit.
About the GMD’s daughter, I think it’s only if she’s a dullard that she will try NNPC employment. For what? Levi Ajuonuma’s daughter is in Exxon-Mobil; she is smart no doubt, but not the smartness alone got her in there. A former GED/GMD of NNPC I know had his sister in-law chased about by the same Mobil for a job she wasn’t too keen about. They sent a mail to her employer then (big federal agency) asking when the lady is resuming in Mobil. HR called her and she told them not to mind them. She later left when she was ready.
Do I mention the one in Total? I hate typing such information for sake of the people that may guess who they are.
Yakubu will be insulting his person and daughter if she works in NNPC whether by merit or backdoor. What happened to Total, Mobil, Chevron, LNG, Agip, and Shell? They will gladly employ her the exact hour they get the call.
Having said that, I believe in the fairness of the process. I prayed to the point I believe that wuruwuru cannot make me loose the offer if God ordained it for me. In fact the exact day I started fasting to tell God I need this process concluded, letters started rolling out. Mine will come; don’t persuade me to move on because I am not standing still.
@those without a job, God will elevate you to the point of rejecting juicy offers.
That is my prayers for all of us..(even those in the NNPC induction).

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@JAJAMARK,
we are on the same page. That is the same information I have been trying to pass across. I have been trying to help some people change their mindset so that they can easily get a better job that is why I used the psychological test used by Total as an example. I did not participate in the last exercise and as a matter of fact I will soon leave the company. A government establishment I want to work with is NCC. I have heard that one needs to be connected to get in but I have not seen it like that once. I will get in when I am ready to. What I want from some guys here is to maintain a positive outlook. Suggesting that having a 1st class makes one better than a 2.1 is out of place. I wish all the best. I have come to realize in the past few months that it is not enough to have the academic qualification alone, your view about life also matters and that is what I want all of us to keep in mind especially if you want to go for international positions.
Also someone asked a question about positions being advertised and no one being taken. it can and does happen. If a company does not find the right candidate for a particular position then there is no point picking just anybody. This seldom happens in Nigeria but those that have schooled abroad might know this. infact companies will tell you if they do not find the right candidates they re advertise. I have several examples.
Finally I wish you all the very best in life and will offer job search tips to people who need it.

Secondly, most of them now have faces unlike me. They are now known, Bebrief, Alanu, Terraco, Dan, Ela etc They are now posting on an online forum as a staff of NNPC.[ Quote:

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Falana threatens to sue NNPC for FoI non-compliance
August 13, 2012 by Ade Adesomoju 12 Comments
Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, has threatened to sue the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Andrew Yakubu, if the NNPC fails to disclose certain information requested by Oil & Gas Publications Limited.
In a letter to Yakubu dated August 12, Falana reiterated that the information Oil & Gas Publications Limited had earlier sought from the NNPC on “Crude oil term contract” was within the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Falana’s letter was in response to an earlier letter dated July 16, through which the NNPC had denied Oil & Gas Publications Limited the requested information.
In his letter, Falana insisted that by virtue of Section 31 of the FoI Act, the NNPC was a public institution which was under compulsion to release the information his client had requested.
He said, “However, should you fail or refuse to accede to our client’s demand, take notice that we shall not hesitate to apply for an order of mandamus at the Federal High Court with a view to compelling disclosure of the requested information in the circumstance.
“With respect, the interpretation of Section 31 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 by your legal department does not reflect the correct state of the law.
“Since the law has clearly defined a public institution to mean the government or any of its organs, which include any subsidiary body or of those bodies which are supported in whole or in part by public fund, it is totally misleading to contend that the NNPC which is wholly funded by the Federal Government through appropriation by the National Assembly is not a public institution.”
He urged Yakubu to ignore the advice credited to NNPC’s legal department that the corporation was not a public institution.
According to him, such advice is not supported by past decisions of the Court of Appeal and all relevant laws comprising the FoI Act, Public Officers Protection and the Constitution.
Falana said, “In view of the foregoing you will agree with us that the legal opinion credited to your legal department on the status of the NNPC fly in the face of the unambiguous provisions of the NNPC Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Public Officers Protection Act and the constitution.
“You should therefore discountenance such misconceived legal advice and ensure that our client’s demand is met within seven days of the receipt of this letter.”
