Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
young man,i said it here before and im not ashamed to say it again.there is no wuruwuru in this exercise.if there was, i would have been a beneficiary.i work directly with the GMD.i told him i was applying. He wished me well. after the test, i was not called.i told him, he made enquiries in my presence and was told i didnt scale thru.He didnt even make an attempt to influence it.when i was disturbing him too much, he got me transferred.lets learn to appreciate our leaders when they do good.as for me,im dusting my books awaiting the next recruitment, which i didnt do before. Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Am not waiting for the next recruitment...an getting myself enrolled in a skill acquisition center(State owned), to learn more on air-conditioners and refrigerators. After graduation, am setting up my own workshop. Tired of this job search. The gift of a man makes room for him. bye

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ Jesus Army, i disagree with you on this one. That he did not help you does not mean he did not help others. And even if he did not help others does not stop others from helping others too. That you worked for him does not guarantee your being helped. names were swapped and this i heard from a management staff. Quote:

I read that to mean to a large extent, merit was upheld with respect to the recruitment exercise especially as it affects the GT & Operators cadre. Considering the revelations that are springing out with respect to the geographical spread for EH cadre, what is you take on it & is there anything we need to know pls?

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
someone even confirmed what i had posted earlier, he said he was called for his letter only for him to get there and see another name on his letter. every other details were his except name. i have advised him to go for his job and that he is about tobe shortchanged. He is lucky to have been called now he knows he is about to be shortchanged. what of those that were not that fortunate? Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ shampoo,i will agree with you on this.rumor has it that the former GMD is a straight forward person, people from his hometown find it hard to get favour from him.however, that does not mean he doesnt help others or people under him did not.shortly after he was sent on compulsory leave,a lot heppened to d original list.this is from a very reliable source.though some people got the offer on merit basis,i can tell you that names were swapd.i am a living witness.it is baseless at this point to argue, since the deed has been done.on the average,NNPC tried.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
And as you should know by now, slots are reserved in these kind of high level recruitments for principal officers of the Federation. Or are you saying if the Office of The Senate President for example has been allocated 10 slots that he would care if the person was even in Africa when you did the aptitude test? He will certainly get his letter before you. Such people don't come here to rigmarole with 'nobodies' like us (if I may say). They pick up their phones and call directly who is responsible and get instant feedback! And don't rule out the factor of a very minute amount here having enough 'leg' to influence it and subsequently just telling you they were successful. Do you know the means to their successful end? And as rightly said, that he didn't help you doesn't mean he didn't help others. And it also doesn't mean that those at HR did not 'do their thing' too. Credible? To some extent, but not as much as we've come to believe it to be.
-
@JESUS ARMY, with all due respect, dat you work with the GMD does not mean that your relationship with him is strong enough as to compel him to break the rules to fix u in. Though there may have been a reasonable level of transparency in the process, that is not to say that there were no serious manipulations here & there. I tell you, without ur knowledge, he(the GMD) most certainly may equally done exactly the same favour to some other person or persons depending on his relationship with them. I equally tell you that there are quite a few number of persons got this NNPC job strictly through referals (or recommendation) and they never even applied for it during the application period(especially in the EH cadre). It may well interest you to know that soon you'll find out that there are also few individuals with very high contact who were never around all through the entire recruitment process but have already been offered appointment letters. If u can, just keep tab during the induction as all these will unfold during the course interaction at the induction stage. PLS & PLS, i speak in respect of findings in the EH cadre only. The OP & GT case might have been different.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Section 2 (7) of the FOI Act 2011 defines
public institutions thus: “Public institutions
are all authorities whether executive,
legislative or judicial agencies, ministries,
and extra-ministerial departments of the
government, together with all corporations
established by law and all companies in
which government has a controlling
interest, and private companies utilizing
public funds, providing public services or
performing public functions.”
Please, its either this Anthony Madichie man doesn't like his job, or he's made enough to retire. Is he saying that at least, government does not have a controlling interest in NNPC? I am sure this reply was put forth with the courage that he would'nt be challenged, that the publisher of that article will not pursue his cause. I pray he gets the surprise of his life. Those who go about flaunting the law and hiding behind the precepts of the jargon involved in law have no place in this society if we indeed want a shift from status quo.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
NNPC should stop this very lengthy process. Lecturers who release their results in time experience minimal pressure from students but those who release 3, 4, 5 months are waiting for students.... I had a prof, Professor Kuye, write his exams in the morning in the evening the result is in door (pasted) in computer print back in those days. Any mago mago has to be inside hall. Now WAEC and JAMB are releasing on time, any mago mago has to be inside hall. Meeting officials after exams has been minimised. Whenever a process is lengthy it creates room for speculations, corruption, bribery, influence and otherwise.
Also it helps bring closure to those who will never be in the list.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@all, as far as we are human beings, there can never be a perfect process. I recall in South Africa, the idea of “qualification” and “suitability” came up in their power company. The white man was more, by far, qualified, but the black man was more suitable at that moment for the job. They chose the black man on suitability.
Pray that God does not pass you by and for him to remember you always.
We all saw what happened between our Okonjo Iwuala and the South Korean Doctor for the World Bank race. It is everywhere but to me this process was up to 70/80% ok and not 20/30 ok.
Even in Shell, Mobil and NLNG, you will be surprise and shocked that about 10% will come with 3rd class or pass or incomplete WAEC during documentation. It has happens. Or do you before expect to write aptitude test with Turkur’s son or daughter. Politicians get favour everywhere in the world.
Is it school? Unilag, Ife, UI, UNN. Many enter via notes. Most of them don’t have time for listserves like this, if they hear this, they will laugh in Japanese..Kwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkwkkwkwkwk
The moment you continue to dwell on this, the more it affects you to put in your best and leave the rest for God. So that next time you don’t say that there is no need to compete. Say, “My Father and my God, if it is 30% they are reversing for those who know nobody, let me be among”.
These are my thoughts.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Thank you for ur correct insight, to be frank NNPC didn't do the exercice with good faith, see how the process was delayed for a year, what do u expect? A lot of manipulation must ve incurred in this process though merit was minimal, I tell u. Forget merit or no merit, and this what I ve been saying all the while. Why shul a company starts a recruitment process dat wouldn't be completed in months.By the time PIB is passed, well implemented, all those rubbish shall be removed by the grace of God.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
JA, we appreciate ur efforts, concerning ur case, the calls for interview were based on aggregate bcos thousands wrote the exam, assuming u met the cut-off 4 interview God would ve used Oniwon to push u in. U can't tell us that Oniwon didn't help anyone , it might even been thru the general interview bcos some people entered NNPC btw last july and july 2012 and this is the problem bcos they might filled some slots privately b4 public.NNPC should able to take 1000candiadates very well, made the provision 4 them in d budget. If u ve been his blood brother, Oniwon would do small it to make sure ur name enters, infact u don't need the general interview.d 2nd batch still dey.

I believed to an extend we agreed the existence of wuruwuru in d exercise which is inevitable, but the rule of life is you can only take and succeed what is meant for you. All we strive in life is subordinate to our destiny that has already recorded and will never be rejected congrate once again to the successful ones, we are still waiting. Lets not create BP for ourselves. Read through this article.
Personal Life Destiny Analysis, Key to Success
By Jon Sim
Every journey has it beginning and so is yours life journey to begin with.
The very moment you came into this Earth, the journey of your life destiny begins. And together with you, you brought along a very personal Heaven luck; a luck that belongs solely to you and nobody else.
And hidden within this luck is the very key to your life destiny.
Take it or leave it. Whether you are born into the riches with the best of the environment or the poor, your life begins here.
But now that you are actually reading this, you should be happy and feeling glad. Why do I say so? Just think about it. Aren't things great that you are actually here as a human, reading this? I don't think you would actually prefer to start off your life as any other animals or creatures in this world?
Now that you are given this luck of having the intelligence of a human, you have the power and the choice to make a difference to things.
And to embark on this journey of life, Personal Life Destiny Analysis is a tool that can help you discover your destiny; a tool that can provide you with wise guidance.
Calculated based on your personal heaven luck (year, month, day and hour of your birth), it accurately reveals your personal element of life; personality, individual strengths and weaknesses that can be applied to career choices and other major life decision.
You will get to understand also the different period of luck you will meet in your life; when is bad and when is good. Understand this. You are certainly not going to be bond to ill luck all your life. Just recall. Haven't you experienced times when everything seems just so smooth, succeeding in everything with even the least of effort? But then again times when things just doesn't goes the way you want despite the fullest of your effort?
And likewise, you will get to understand who can be there to help you and who to be better avoiding. You must understand this. You can never rule this world alone.
Now, to be trying hard in life is definitely not a bad thing but to be trying hard in the wrong way, it is. To succeed in life, we have to always work things around the smart ways?
Remember this. You are just who you are, why make things difficult for yourself. Learn to love yourself and be true to yourself. You are given your strength for a reason. And you are given the intelligence to recognize your weaknesses, not to put down yourself.
Understand yourself, your very own life destiny and you can better prepare yourself for your journey in life; wisely knowing what to proceed with and what to avoid, when to go for it and when to better be on your guard. Surely with a better understanding of your life destiny, you can make better plans for yourself?
And recall the trinity luck of life (Heaven Luck, Earth Luck & Human Luck) Each accounts for 33% of your life destiny, remember? Now, instead of throwing away that 33% of your Heaven Luck, accept it and understand it; work it the smart way!
Adding on to other 66% (Earth Luck & Human Luck) to which you can control, don't you now have a better control over your life destiny?
Remember this. You can never have the power to change this world; only this world has the power to change you. But you definitely have the power to change yourself. And that is when you truly accept and believe in yourself.
To discover your journey of life, the very first step is to discover yourself. How can you expect to win if you don't even know yourself well enough? Understand yourself and the path of your journey will reveal itself.
I pray for colorful life destiny for all of us.
