I think Adu, that you are very sound and understand the process. I started Job with STB way back, we were given offer letters subject to medicals. Nobody was dropped despite the quantum of things they found out except one that reacted to a TB shot and she was given time to treat her self because it is contagious. Nobody was dropped . I have inquired from many doctors they said it is only when you are not mentally sound to stay with people (insanity). On the security report , I also agree with you. The letter said Police clearance and most of us that have gone to some embassies have done one and finger printing all your 10 fingers. Why would someone use school cult issue if it did not get to the police. It is from Police database, if they have one, that the review will be done. It is LNG that might drop people because of medicals, because theirs come before offer letter. My younger brother was in 2007 set. Academic verifications, referees and medicals were all done 3 days before they were offered. Please lets be clear . It is for your own good for your employer to know your medical history.Quote:

Even some GTs are now in better places right now and would not want trade them. From day of interview to now, a lot have changed that made the offer no longer adequate for some.

@Adu, I also want to agree that NNPC has verified academic records too. These days it quite simple you have so many firms doing that now. The offer letter posted here, I did not see "subject to verification of your credentials". These are normally the first conditions. Like where I work, they verify from your registrar and your department (HOD) independently and it is stated. But I did not sight that in the letter, I had to go back to read.
My advice anybody who wants to work should work, the PIB will open up new frontiers. NNPC's potentials have not even been scratched. Think of other NOCs like Aramco, Petrobras and Petronas. At times people mistake them for IOCs. NNPC is not outside the shores of Nigeria. I wish I particpated. In a bank when you work for 10 years, you r too old & they want to do away with you, but in NNPC, 20 yrs is just like a fresher

I tend to agree with Adu. This is not Alchemy.
1. Ashaka Security does not do that see their website http://ashakasecurity.com/main/index.html . They are more powerful firms
2. Are they vetting what? The only thing you can vet now is academic records you cannot be vetting the employment history of someone who has not even joined you or resigned. Imagine sending an inquiry to Shell HR about a GT in Shell who would not even take up the job.
3. All those months it took so what where they doing? is it dying minute they knew the qualifying candidates?
4. On medicals, some in 2006 did theirs months after they had resumed in their SBUs.

@Surj, I have worked in 3 banks. In each offer , it was listed. There is no secrecy. They tell you so that when you are sacked you know it. Even they even go to extent of saying satisfatory reference repsonses.

Is it only FBN, FBN is not as strict as where I work. They sack for Age too. Your age must correspond in all your records. I know all these , but the person must be with you first.

You cannot have one age in FBN in 2001, now have another one in 2006 in UBA and have another one in secondary school and have another in University.Also emplyment history , you cannot pad your experience and achievements. If they start vetting people now, your current employer might even sack you. It has happened. That is my point. Say I am a FBN staff, NNPC sends inquiry while I am yet to resume or pick the offer. HR will call me definitely. It has happened before. disloyalty
@Surj, do not lose hope. Except you don't pray. You even participated and passed the test. I wish you great blessing, I don't like using luck. I never took serious until my cousin made it and he is also in banking
@Surj, some GTs have very strong and rich employment history too. Take for example a GT with 5 years experience but fell short of a year. In so far much the person claims he has worked , he should be checked out.

My fellowhopefull i want to say that 2nd batch is coming for sure, nothing can stop it from coming out, devil can only delay it, to actually God,s purpose in our life.i want people to know that God is a God of plain and pattern ( Exodus 25vs9, 25vs40) secondly the glory of God only rest where the pattern and plain is followed (Exodus40vs33_34)thirdly to see the glory of God you must follow the pattern and plain of God, lastly i urge everybody to pray especially our muslim brothers to use this fasting period to pray for the urgent release of the 2nd batch bcos that is the only thing i know we can do for now, but one thing i know is that victory is sure or certain

We pray a best decision is made on the 2nd batch bcos my own source in NNPC Abuja continues saying another batch of letters would be sent but he didn't say the specific date. But I personally strongly bliv that another batch is coming out which some people here had also confirmed on this forum or are we saying those people are deceiving all us?
The next batch had also been signed by MPR together with the 1st batch. We shall rejoice sonner by God's grace.
