I don't fink it's illogical 2 think more letas r coming despite d mode adopted during interview invitation(sending invitations at once despite different interview dates). If one is using dat then one would expect NNPC 2 have sent e-mails despite sending hard copies as done for the test and interview invitations. U just can't predict these guyz!
Infact, there r many reasons 2 expect more letas.
Still optimistic mhen!!!
It's well!!!
@danfulloi: we r in the same shoes. The least they cld have done was to send emails. Cos neither the test nor interview invite was received by post.
Anyways as I have always said I've moved on a long time ago to Better things. My joy is that the process was completed.
Congrats !!!

The problem many of us have is that we don't try, we just assume somethings are going to be too difficult or impossible. If you are in Abuja and have a strong case, go to the towers and table your case. For those who had address or contact phone number issues before now, that is a good enough reason to be allowed access into the towers if you try hard enough. Like I posted yesterday, I was in NNPC Towers yesterday afternoon even though I know nobody there, the security guys at the gate are human beings, table your case with them and they will reason with you. For example, my case was that I no longer reside in the London address I used to apply, the phone number I supplied was not completely captured because I included country code, meaning the last 3 digits were not captured, so, I could not be reached on phone, and to make matters worse, I am in Nigeria for a project. The security guys took a look at my invitation for interview letter to confirm that I used a UK address and they saw incomplete phone number on it too. I told them I have till July 20th to send in my acceptance letter if I made it and who knows, my letter may be somewhere in the UK so, the earlier I know my status the better. They delayed me for like 15 minutes but latter allowed me in. The point I'm trying to make with this epistle is - if you think you have a strong case of why your letter may be somewhere out there and need to know if you made the list, go down to NNPC towers looking very decent and cool and you will be allowed in. Shikennah!!!!
Some people have no info and they say this and that. I am 100% rest assure that another batch is coming up based on the info I had from NNPC staff and which some forumites who I don't know are also confirming. If u are not happy that another batch is coming out , go and sleep. If u ve gotten ur letas , praise God , others will join u sonner.
Some1 posted that 207GTEngr,.348GTnon-engr, were on the list. So do u want to tell me that all 555Gts had been called, these forum would be loaded with "thank God". hw come 6 candidates have been called in almost states instaed of 15 per state. Rest ur mind and pray well for God's favour in 2nd batch. If NNPC would not be a do bad, many candidates should have been provided for in 2012 Budget which I know for sure. If GTs are 1000 not too bad.
some pple who ve been called didn't make any , any merit even scored as 50% but Federal Xter pushed them there, many pple had excellent performance have not been called, so what criteria NNPC used for making merit list, that is questions some us don't know.in fact , rest ur mind others who are yet to be called another batch is coming sooner . We shall see. And u feel uncomfortable, there is a room to challenge ur application as I said and which some pple ve started doing, address mismatching and so on.
God said it. I believe it and that settles it. There is another batch and I am one of them, alongside all that believe. I choose to beleive God. Its a choice, make yours wisely!
Pls how long is the induction goin to take in abuja? And what's the preparation like, if you have any info concerning this, please let the house know! And what is the monthly pay for OP after allowances addition?
First and foremost I want to congratulate all those who have been given letters of employment. For our brothers and sisters that couldn't make past the interview stage don't lose hope God will surely see you through in Jesus Name Amen!. There is also every possibility that your letter was dispatch but you haven't receive it yet.
For those of us that made it there are certain things I want to made inquires about:
1. I was told to resume on 3rd September 2012 @ ETD Abuja, that the offer of employment is open until 28th September 2012 and that I should sign a copy of the employment letter and submit it to the Managing Director, Human Resources on or before 28th September 2018. The question is should I sign the document and send it by courier or simply wait till 3rd September when I resume to submit it with other documents that are required.
2. The Medicals will be done by NNPC but what about the Police Report. Should we do it ourselves and bring it along or will it be done by NNPC themselves.
3. Will everybody report to the Group MD, Human Resources at Abuja and letter riposted to various states after the on-boarding process or is everybody reporting to their various places they will eventually be.
4. Will there be any temporal accommodation arrangement by NNPC or we will be on our own during the on-boarding process.
Please people with any useful information should please share
I hope dey call more people, I pray and hope... All the best brethren...its been a journey of nerves and boundless faith and hope. A lot of us at a point decided to move on to other endeavours as the torture of the wait was just too much to bear...alas, God had other plans for his faithful servants.
To all those that made it, I congratulate U all; you have crossed dat great divide and on course to an enriching career.
For those dat did no, there's nothing under the sun that's new; disappointments like these are bessings in the long run, God is @ work on Ur case.
The selection process was purely on merit as agreed under the quota system, ofcourse this is not to say some sentiments and lobbying did not take place, which would allow for marginal favours here and there. But to completely debunk the process as a sham is a great disservice to those dat made it. See you all either in the ampitheatre during induction or anywhere GOD leads us in our lives journies... Salam
@mantech, after submitting my letter, I was told I cud hv pouched it, but den if Ur close 2 abuja, I tnk U shud jus com over Urself...d medicals n police report wil both b handled by nnpc wen U resume.
@Vin20, why don't you allow terraco to post whatever info he has in public or must you cabalise everything? I hope we will not be hearing from you things like "The second batch will be called after PIB has been passed". I will not put it pass you to start spurning that kind of yarn.
@all, I did not make the NNPC list but God in his magnanimity made me successful in the PTDF OSS (PhD). It would have been a tough decision for me had i got NNPC but God may have probably made the choice for me. Left to my mortal self, I would have gone for NNPC eventhough I applied for GT having only two years working experience. But this terraco's news is starting to stir up my old flame in NNPC.
Terraco, I am a Dr. Not heard any Dr has received any mail. Pls can you verify? Pls PM me?
Thanks for corroborating my source who said another batch is coming out, no cause for alarm. If not for Federal Character issue killing human capital devpt in Nigeria many who have been called now would not have been called.I still emphasis that Many candidates who are yet to be called had better performance than some who have been called, but Federal Character issue causing problem for us in developing Nigeria.
How we wish NNPC should make the true test and interview scores of the candidates, u people would have seen what we are saying. A friend of yours who scored lower than u ve been called first bcos his/her score is highest from his/her state. Another list is on the way, confirmed.
Is like am still dreaming. Its realy hurt for my friends and I couldn't make the list. I was at the DHL warehouse office at central Abuja yester only to be told my letter was not included but I was told they are expecting more from thursday. I guesed the man tried to discharged because he saw me weeping. Many started dis journey but only few could make it. I wish the successful ones best of luck.
News coming is some states are crucified, especially a part of the country that ruled for so many years....Its anticipated more letters are to come from those states to douse the tension in NNPC!
Congrats to all the confirmed staffs in the house. @all, can we get a percentage of those that have received their offer letters that were part of the 2008 process?, of course we know by now that a good number of them that resurfaced for the 2010 exercise made it to the interview stage. There are some issues we are trying to confirm.
This is very real; necessity laid on the 2010 exercise to be pre and post PIB. Get ready for the shocker...."your offer letters". Every single person that was interviewed is employeable and from reliable quarters the NNPC is releasing more offer letters.
The gist about the pengassan and nupeng issues with the management is real, but they have been promised a good welfare package already by management. Some EH will start from SS3,these and some other issues with the EH category gave rise to the agitations from the unions. So no shakes, letters will roll until every single person God has favored to be in NNPC receives an offer letter.
@bb1 many of us understand how fcc works. Truth be told, about this your analyses, you were not called perhaps because you didn't do too well as regard your state only. What difference does it make? Are you against the fcc's rule...that's not healthy. We have come a long way, just because you weren't favoured shouldn't mean we going all the way back. Fcc is the right and sure thing for a country like Nigeria. It's like you don't understand most of the problems we have in this country has to do with phrases like tribe, minority et al. Don't say those things pls.
When all were hoping, no disparities. Now dat some has letters, others can go 2 hell. Was dat how d struggle started? If u have an offer letter and u want d employment 2 end 4 others, fine. But remember, these are all means 2 an end. It not d end itself. We still remain friends, nnpc or not.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) for onward transmission to the National Assembly.
Briefing State House correspondents at the end of its weekly council meeting, the minister of petroleum resources, Mrs. Deziani Allison-Madueke said the new PIB which will ensure the independence of theregulators in the oil and gas sector as well as unbundle the NNPC, will yield high return on investments for Nigerians.
“The new PIB is going to make the oil industry more competitive and accountable. It proposes revolutionary changes in the industry,” said the minister
She said that the fiscal frameworks which delayed the bill in the past have been reworked and that when passed by the National Assembly, the country will remainan interesting investment destination for oil and gas investors.
FEC also directed the ministers of agriculture and finance to reduce the import duty rate for cassava enhancing enzymes from 10 to 0percent as well as come up with a development fund that will support the valuechain in the production of bread in an effort to promote cassava farming in the country as well as reduce the country’s dependency on importation of wheat.
Budget Office of the ministry of finance will manage the fund meant for small scale millers who may need additional support.

@BB1: Please at this point it's not good for you to be saying Character Comission is what is dragging us backward or to conclude that the selection was not base on merit becouse you were not selected, I think the best thing is to congratulates those that made it and keep on praying as you said another batch will follow.. For me I was not selected and I thank God for everything cos some has not even make it to the interview stage not becouse they are not good or we were better than them and whether the selection was base on merit or not that one is not my concern as no amount of yarning that will make one get his letter but I believe more than 50percent is base on merit don't tell me its 80percent merit cos i know what i see.. But atleast going by the way this country is now we should commend NNPC for the 50percent merit its a welcoming development. For those of you that were called, Please accept my hearty congratulations once again May almighty Allah bless your current job. As per the romour concerning the new batch i did not buy the idea though i will b very happy if it turns out to be true but any way sha God is in control with him everything is possible. I have sign out of this thread bye bye my people.
@Terraco & bb1. Did i hear u say nxt week. May God count us among dose He would favour soonest.
Remember, it is not by ur smartness nor ur being special but by His Grace & Favour.
It is well.
@terraco n bb1,if anoda batch comot truly n GOD willing,my name come dey dia,i swear i go find una.even ma na iya basira fud wey dey jazz styl plus i fit cari una go,i go fil una tomi wit am wela.
@bb1, dis Federal Character thing might be injurious to our national development but its what we need as a nation lookin at our peculiarities, so coming out in a puBlic forum such as this and venting ur frustration over it is not helpful and cud only tag U as being malicious, dats just my opinion tho...
I must reiterate dat more people will called from feelers I got, let's jus hope and pray its true.... Salam
I really smiled and remembered vin20 when I heard the news of PIB passage.
To say the truth,I am stl expecting my letter till now.I might be wrong only if God say I am wrong.
For those that has theirs,I say congratulations,it is not easy.I know first hand some things about NNPC but I am not connected there.
If u are in lagos, you will heave a sigh of relief when you spend your one week in Abuja.
They will announce to you all you are to be paid...ranging from first 28 days hotel allowance...to part of your housing for the remaining part of the year...to tea and security allowance, etc.
This you will get b4 doing any work. You are indeed blessed(I believe some will say itz not the ultimate which is true). But I think making heaven is the only ultimate thing.
I prayed for the process to be concluded and merit-based,so I don't hv any moral right to question the credibility of those selected.I can only be happy for them while waiting for my glory which must come in Jesus name...AMEN!
We hv come a long way in this struggle.........
I can recall one 1st class guy that was so bitter because he was not even shortlisted for the test(mine came 23rd of March b4 the 26th March). I took time to talk to him and recounted my own experiences on recruitments like this, especially those handled by Phillips Consulting.
We wrote the test,JA(our dear friend) was somewhere with the Lord when members started calling him that the results is out. When I noticed that JA may not have been called for interview,I started praying for him and one of my colleagues in the office. But my colleague was later called and we know about JA.
By this time I wasn't called for the interview, but had strong convictions that it will come, and it came(July 1st....the 1st day of the month I declared one-month fasting).
I have more stories to tell but I just want to tell us that God is not a liar.Even if at the end you do not make it,be rest assured it is not because you are not good, but something better is in the offing(if you are a child of God).
Joining NNPC at this time is equally good as the coy is transforming to a responsible O&G coy and so the frustration of working in a public service will soon be phased out and also.......better pay package expected.
Congrats and let us still wait and trust in God for our miracles.
The Federal character (FC) issue is a shortcut to solving a problem that is eating away at the country.
We all know that we are not all equal, however, there are things that each an every one of us excel at over the other. FC tries to equalise everybody in Nigeria and that is why we are in the mess we are in today starting from 1914.
This issue has pervaded the whole sphere of human endeavor in this country. Let me ask, if FC was that important to our survival, why hasn't the private sector embraced it yet. How many Banks use FC while recruiting?
Remember Jamb. I, with a score of 230, was almost not admitted into school whereas a student who later became my friend entered on MERIT was admitted with a score of 203. Infact most students that were admitted that way never told anyone their Jamb scores because of the fear of been ridiculed.
Affirmative action (FC/ Quota system) has never solved the underlying societal problems of a Nation. It has not empowered the Black Zimbabweans farmers nor reduced Almajiri in the North nor helped black South Africans. I am not saying that it does not have its advantages, however, the feeling I get is that we are not looking to solving our problems head-on but are still employing shortcut.
To round up my treatise :D, One of the fields of endeavour that we have excelled in as a nation is football/other sports. I am sure nobody in Nigeria want to hear FC in football. Till date, I do not know the state of origin of our Atlanta 96 football squad and do not care. Infact, if 11 Almaijiri wins us the world cup, I will personally lead them to Aso Rock. If we achieved success in Football without focusing on FC, are we saying we cannot transfer same to other aspects of our lives.
Lastly, If PDP had chosen Donald Duke based on his performance rather than Goodluck based on FC, our situation as a Nation will probably be different today.
@seyi42K, U indeed have a point, and Ur submission is not in doubt...however, 2 do away with Federal character is to do away wid Nigeria, its jus not posibble...I might sound rather conservative and bereft of ideas, but trust mi bro, I know wat I'm saying...
This collection of people we have as a country neccesitates such...
Good day house,
I am one of the new intakes for the GT position.
However, I have situation that may hinder me from resuming at the specified date. I will like to know if anyone in the house has a contact number or email for HR people in NNPC.
You can send me a PM.
I will really appreciate any help that I can get.
Thank you all
E b like say d thread don start empty o.people dey busy wit signin n sendin letas 2 towers.som dey press dia cloths n som dey shine dia shoes.som dey go shopping 4 new cloths, shoes, underwears, perfumes etc just 4 aug 6th or sept 3rd resumption day at towers.bt we sha,we dey here stil dey post n dey cal GOD 4 beta tins 2com.my dad once told me,"20 boys can neva play 2geda 4 20yrs".wish d sucesful guys luck.
@surj: I feel that the thread is now for those of us whom are still HOPING against all odds. I pray GOD sees us all through. Also, there is now a new thread called NEW NNPC EMPLOYEES,meaning there is now a divide.
@hafeezeeks, what sort of logic are you using. We should commend NNPC for undertaking a recruitment that is 50% merit-based because other agencies fails to reach your 50% percent benchmark? We should as well commend all pick-pockets for not being a full blown arm robbers. We should always aspire for the best and reject nothing less. Our problem as a nation started when we began settling for second best.
@ kazie: you have spoken my mind. I wish a lot more people would acknowledge GOD's Grace and Favour as the source of their success more foten.
