Thanks Kafox. You've just said the same thing i said on my earlier post on this same page.
@ Bebrief, I can't see the publication either, I have even searched online to no avail . Can you just copy its content here. Thanks
I really appreciate you JA , but if we are to go with all your suggestions, this thing fit tey oo. However, we can pick some of the suggestions.
Someone has volunteered to make branded shirts available, even if they dont go round, it shouldnt be an issue. As for involving activists/Labour unions, that again can/should be sorted out ASAP.
However, the issue of having an office, leaders, press conferences, television and radio adverts etc are superflous and will only delay us at the end of the day. I think what we should be thinking of how monday is gonna be- the time, meeting venues, and coordinators. My 2cents.
Meanwhile, bro. bebrief can you a copy of the publication.
I think i'm impressed and completely in support of Kafox's contribution. Kudos to ya. Monday is d day. I'm in ijebuode area of ogun state, planed to be in abuja 4 d protest 2days ago bt unfortunately, dat intension was disposed by the unforseen event of dana crash. I shall be at the lagos Zone this time- let's go there on monday. It is well.
I no get job at all oohh if una care to know!
I wish u guyz could understand what i'm passin tru after graduatin with a distinction in elect/elect since 2006. It is well.
If Not God...
We are getting there. I had said that we can't meet all these condition by JA investigation. Moreover, time is not on our side. I did promise for few printed shirts in the lagos zone. However, it may portray us as rented and having political undertone. I feel since its on issue of Job, we should be corporate the way we went for the interview and with our folders. This time camouflage folders of our credentials.
@thurllyboy: By the special grace of God, a good job await u and many others. I also wish to suggest that thursday would hv been best but It can still be moved to monday. And our inscription on our banners and placards can read " NNPC RELEASE OUR APPOINTMENT LETTERS" " 2011/2012 TRAINEES APPOINTMENT LETTERS" " NNPC IN DECEITFUL RECRUITMENT" Lagos zone.
@ thyrllyboy,i feel and share your pain.It is fraustrating, but it is well with your soul.
Good one, but the captions should reflect on the DPR recruitment and NNPC experience hires GT 2008 also. Everyone must be carried along. On the dress code, I support the idea of corporate wears or better still, a pair of black jeans and a white top. LETS ARISE AND MAKE IT MEMORABLE! The first of its kind.
Good day All,
Few Suggestions
1. Invite National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) because this issue indirectly affects them. They will soon be graduating and if this trend continues it will also affect them. We ca invite the various chapter from different zones.
2.We all dress uniformly i.e black trousers, jeans and skirts for ladies and white top as suggested by bravejustice.
3.We invite PENGASAN to intervene by inscribing on our placards if we consider it necessary.
4.We also invite NASS Speaker to intervene by also inscribing on the placard if we consider it necessary.
Finally i believe God who does not sleep will go ahead and make a potent case and have the issue resolved ASAP with both NNPC and DPR hopefuls obtaining their offer letters within the shortest possible time.
Remain Blessed All
ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL
GODS SPEED AND FAVOR GO WITH US
Its in our wish that this planned peaceful protest solves the unemployment problems facing our generation. Its equally our wish that many other bodies as always had been mentioned to join for more effectiveness. But we have been limited by periodicity of events, and I will want us to define our scope explicitly. I think the NNPC 2010 and their counterpart, the DPR should be our scope while we make reference to aborted NNPC 2008. That may force the NNPC authorities to make pronouncement from their quite position ( from my own view)
So help us God.
NANS inclusion into this demonstration could lead to a chaotic protest. The purpose of the protest is simple, to inform the public about NNPC and DPR recruitment process that has lingered for two years. The more specific we are, the better the message we will be passing across. The inclusion NANS could generalize the message making the cause for agitation somehow vague. however if any group or sympathizers wishes to join us, they will be more than welcome.
@nne_mak: Of course, it is not possible for they to attend to only trainees alone. I am not even a trainee either. Pls i don't mean harm. I want every hand to be on deck.
So help me God.
Timbo timbo lascalaba na u first kpom... Alama lama kai kai.
This prostest will lead to a fresh recruitment advert.. Says the spirits.
I WILL POST THIS AGAIN WHEN IT FINALLY HAPPENS.
@4g Kevin NO SHAKINGs!!!!!
why dawdle at the face of urgency?, commotion is not motion, and dont mistake movement for achievement, the probability of the protest tending towards zero is increasing by the seconds. if you guys allow oniwon's exit, then you will realise how powerless your protest can be when confronting cabals. forget about 2008 recruitment, the destiny has been sealed,it can only be used as a case in point to justify the 2010 arguement.
I dont think you guys have thought about being deceived by NNPC ? What if only 20 hopefuls are being effered with offer letters ? can we decide on the minimum number of offers that must exit the towers ? what happens if the protest self appionted leaders are secretly effered with offer letters?, it has happened in Nigeria before. these are the epistemological queries we must attend to.
I don't think it will be wise to involve NANS becos of their approach to protest is not the peaceful type. the first thing we should think of 4 this protest to be successful is involving the media. there should media coverage for the protest in order 4 nigerians know to about the NNPC and DPR recruitment scam
I still insist that we cannot force NNPC to employ anybody, we can only force them to realise that we dont fancy their idea of using our pathetic case to sign off funds for their personal aggrandizement or score some cheap political points. what happens if only 20 hopefuls are employed and others are excused from the job because of their invented ruse of the hopefuls inability to post the necessary interview scoreline ? are they not smarter than the hopefuls in this wise ?.food for thought.
@seunlove.due process as they advertised vacancies suggests they publish names of the successful candidates in at least two national dailies and not just keep mum.just thinking-only 20 candidates from 36 states, which states were left out!awarenss is imminent
All talk. Let us see the action.
@Carribean, you have a point, but dont forget you dont just employ people because they have the best score in their state, there is still a minimum baseline score that must be touched before employment is given, federal character or no federal character, you cannot score 05/100 and expect to be employed because you have the best interview score for your state. the bottom arguement is that NNPC can just employ 20 hopefuls after the protest and still defend it intelligiently.
Let us try to bring down these confusion about 20 candidates or how many successful after the peaceful protest. The truth is that if after the protest, the organisation decides to employ just one person, then the protest has achieved tremendously. Then our spirit can await the next recruitment. But we need not to border our brain with that. The best thing now is how to ascertain that we send correspondence to Nigeria Police and that there is media involvement.

@All, it is important that we first commiserate with the management of NNPC on the loss of their members of staff to the ill-fated plane crash before the protest. This can be done before or during the peaceful protest. Please see below the publication on pg 6 of National Mirror of Monday June 4, 2012. You may wish to make printouts for distribution, if you can. Also, anyone who has contacts of Journalists with major newspapers like ThisDay, Punch, The Sun, Vanguard etc should pls send me a pm so I can forward the press statement to them for publication on Monday.

@all, Here is a suggestion pls.In order to get the right media attention that this protest deserves, we should do a press briefing in Abuja on sunday afternoon, may be 2'o'clock.I know an Editor who can put guys (journalists/correspondents) from different media houses together 4 a press briefing. We can't however guarantee they will all attend d confab 4 free. But we could rub minds on how to address that issue.I was advised that It can be arranged. We don't need to register as a group in order to do this. It's a protest group, not some kind of trade union. We can have our maiden press briefing even in the parlour of one of us in Abuja if we cannot secure a public venue. No big deal.If you think this is a good idea, let's hear your suggestions and if we are in agreement to proceed with it, then you can contact me via private mail (i.e those of us in Abuja) and I will give you the details of who to contact. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
@All, we need a dedicated volunteer in Abuja to speak at a press briefing in Abuja on Sunday. Pls indicate on this thread and contact @debrown or myself for details.
Pls is there any dress code for the protest? I intend travellin on Sunday, but I hv to shelve dt 2be pt of ds protest. Aluta continua...
