brother, in many wayz and in any place u get lost, there is no crime in asking. And moreover if u always ask, u can never get lost. When u ask, it show's that u know what u want and where u r going to. I am not an NNPC hopefull, but i believe it's time u people take ur stands and ask for the reason why it is taking this long to complete the process. And how can u do that?, i believe a peacefull protest will pass the massage to the reasonable ears. And one more thing; you've not seen your offer letter and you are scared of protest... Who told u that you will ever get the letter? Are u sure u r not just watting for a decomposed split milk?. Please u better wake up, peaple like you will neva come out to say the truth when u no it is possible for u to lost ur daily bread. Immagine you've not gotten the offer not to talk of on the job, n u are scared of your immaginary BOSS. That's just my words., i live u in peace. SHALOM

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
let me tell you what will happen - we just may protest, and if we do, it would yield nothing.... and the recruitment process would be completed anyway. Except it gets violent in anyway, nothing would happen to the protesters. and the exercise will be completed. and the protesters would have succeeded in making a fool of themselves.... and wasting their time..... In any case, many of the guys talking now will not show up, trust me..... they r just sensitizing the 'shallow' ones among us who would be fooled to come out and 'fight'.... and many will fall for it.
I certainly do not want to be a part of this type of 'fight for Nigeria youth'. I'm also sure you wont miss me during this proposed protest.... so all the best to you protesters. The process will be completed and some of us will be preparing for resumption, if we are called.

Pls fellow hopefuls, dnt forget to include the DPR hopefuls as well......4th june here we come!

The risk we took & d time we wasted to write test nd attended interview is greater compare d one for d protest.so we have every season to do so. people should stop contradictin themselves, d season for dis not hold is havin letters b4 d concluded date of 4th june.
-
Guys pls pressed ur demands like gentlemen and ladies. Consult with the Human Capital of NNPC and find out what the delay might be or better still move on, NNPC is not the only corporation in naija. This proposed protest might turn radical and no one would love to employ radicals hence cancellation of the whole process. Act like learned graduate worthy of ... And not like activiries.
I rest my case.
Just advicing.

CAn u just imagine! Our welfare has suddenly become important to abcd123. I thought he has consistenly called us fools for remaining on dis thread. Now dat we want to rise up n do something abt our situation n possible end dis thread(either in success or failure) he wants us to remain on d thread as 'hopefools' (in his own words). Personally i dont care whether d process is concluded or cancelled bt pls dis experience shld nt happen to any Nig youth again.Abcd123 is an agent of nnpc who has all dis while been tryin to gradually n systematically discourage us so dat d thread will die without a fight-back bt d devil is a liar. Dis protest must hold. If nt for our sake, for d sake of others behind us.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I find it very unbelievable that people can come here to discourage ‘a peaceful protest’.
Why do you think it’s joblessness that caused it? So people should not ask for justice again?
Why should a select few hold the rest of us to ransom in everything?
I recall that a friend schooling in the UK could have extended his stay in UK if not that we advised him to ignore the test invitation and start job hunt after graduation. U can then imagine the risk and money spent by those from outside the country to write test and attend interviews.
You guys can remember the funny scene in PHC where a lady wore her wedding gown to write the test.
Why should the poor masses be fooled always and someone is calling us fools if we protest for justice?
They fooled us in 2008 about SEC jobs.
They fooled us in 2009/10 about NEITI jobs.
They fooled us in 2010/11 about Fiscal Responsibility Commission.
CBN after employing 700 (mostly from certain states) has advertised to fool us.
We can’t keep quiet, if it means being the fool they want to brand us, let us help them openly.
Lagos people should let us know the arrangement.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I don't know what to say again, we are not going to be discouraged by anybody. We have given NNPC enough time, too much time. Its time for to act peacefully on Monday June 4,2012 at Abuja, PHC, Lagos. Those people we look up to as leaders are wicked people and terrorists. So NNPC jobs are for only their own people, this time things must change.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
It is too bad that @tohbad has taken it upon himself to discourage us. This beats my imagination and prompts me to ask if he "@tohbad" is a hopeful or an agent of NNPC.
Any man coming to this tread with the intention to discourage the planned protest should be ignored and viewed as NNPC agent.
Non voilent protest is allowed everywhere in the world and a tool used by civilized persons and society to drive their demands home " to the govt"
Who said peaceful protest does not yield result? Fuel subsidy protest is one good example.
I was at freedom park where Nigerians came out in mass to say NO.
Keyword: PEACEFUL PROTEST
POSTERITY will not forgive us if we fell to act as to stop this emotional blackmail and psychological truma being infiltrated on the citizenry by the govt n its functionaries.
June 4,
Peaceful Protest.
Lets create more awareness using social media.
You may be surprised to know that EGYPT protest was organised using facebook.
God bless the Federal republic of nigeria
God bless NNPC hopefuls

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Im in support of the protest for one thing, It will either speed up the completion or the termination of this process. Either way, this thread would finally be laid to rest.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
It is obvious that your mind is made up to embark on the peaceful protest. Although i feel otherwise, but, yes we built both Dpr and nnpc thread together. And so, i will not abandon my family to protest on my behalf. I shall join you guys by God's grace on the 4th of june. My opinion doesn't matter now, the house has spoken- those of you who are conversant with various laws- labour, human rights, employment etc should endeavour to be bu the fore front of the march. Secondly, those of you who know that you are naturally hot headed and prone to explosive outbursts like me pls try to exercise restraint and calmness.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Who are the distractors? I will give you these so that you will know that we have a lot to protest for:
1. Why did they include recruitment in the budget when they know that there is no general recruitment? Why did they allow us to waste transport fare, especially those that traveled from UK?
2.They have probably done a silent and backdoor recruitment.they must tell the whole world why it shuld be done that way.
3,what heppened to 2008 recruitment and the fund allocated for it?
4.this protest will be a wake up call for other organizations that are taking nigerian graduates for granted.alot of under G recruitment is going on in all those establishments, and yet they will advertise to bobo efrybody.
If you are not a hopeful today, you may become a hopeful for a particular job tomorow.let us act now, whether you are a hopeful (of 2010/2011 NNPC recruitment) or not.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Thirdly, refrain from writing abusive words on like "thief" or "ole" on placards. We are graduates and not students and would want to be taken seriously. May God see us through. Remember, this is for both Dpr and Nnpc hopefuls. Lets do it.
-
When i remember somethings hhhmmmm u know dat idiot call us "fools on parade no commander" how i wish to set my eyes on you comes 4th june. u could hv known who is foolin who. enough of any rubbish frm anybody dat's not in support of dis. no amound of discouragement will affect dis plan, be warn

i apologize for disappointing you, but we really must begin to be more creative. If one keeps trying at a solution in the same manner and keeps expecting a different result, then there really is a fundamental issue with that person. U keep on insisting on fuel subsidy rally.... i implore you to calm down and begin to quatify all that went into the rally - every aspect of it, beginning from unism of purpose to the support received, even from factors within the leadership.... be real- this is a spur-of-the-moment thing, and in any case, we all do not seem together on this protest. already, u have senior members of this forum urging you all not to disclose ur identities... please, lets be honest with ourselves. why not identify urselves with ur names on this forum at least if you really would be there?
its just my opinion- i do not have knowledge of the future, but i see already that this may not be necessary, given all of the activities in the corporation as at today. The corporation had been embattled obviously, which is enuff indication as to the reason for the delay. I currently have a job, and certainly would not be found in the midst of a protest simply becos hopefuls perceive that a recruitment exercise has been cancelled. Have we had a direct contat with the HR of the corporation before we hit the streets like unilag students? do we have a satisfactory or even unsatisfactory response as to the apparent cause of the delay? no. nothing formal, and yet we want to be taken seriously? guys! even the tanker drivers would be more organized in their approach. like i said, it probably would not have severe implications, but it almost certainly would not force them to conclude or cancel... they are working on it anyway! they reserve the right to cancel if they believe the process has been compromised. so pple calm down .... a little at least.
These are just my thots, and i am not trying to discourage pple. Posterity would require an account for why we are unable to distinguish ourselves and come up with a more produtive approach in sanitizing the future for our kids... and not just 'satisfying' our consciense that we did something.... the challenge is to do something differently and productively.
Cheers

Thanks for being civil. of course we all have a right to our thots. sharing is the purpose of the forum
do you know for certain about backdoor recruitment? all i am saying is that we have informed facts, not hearsays... it really is a structured environment at the end of the day...

My brother i hv enough fact as per nnpc 2010 recruitment dat if not because of God i could hv turn to a militant, is really painful to see people dat u're far better than, rationaly, intelligently still taking u for granted. we are no more concern abt their offer bt to let them know is enough.

I have started broadcasting the protest on fb twitter and . Ill continue to do this until the 4th of june. I no longer care wether our actions will terminate d process or enhance it. But this has to stoop. Today it is us, tomorrow it will be our brothers, sisters, kids, their kids, God forbid. It ends now. NNPC should stop playing with the emotions of people. Please do same on ur fb pages and broadcast on , spread the news. This isn't about aluta, but about the future of our dear country. If you know any top politician, send the protst message to their fb page, e.t.c. Until we reach the president and co. People let's get busy. This is the 10th month. Let's b the change we want. God bless us and help us achieve our true goal.

There is a popular saying, “A Nation deserves the kind of leadership it gets”. Going by this, we need to wake up and demand for accountability in Government, demand for accountability in this recruitment process. This to me is faith with works. The problem with the leadership of this country is camouflaged in mirages, and the more you look the less you see. The more you get closer the farther it becomes. Round and round you go Nigeria; even the much talked about BREATHE OF FRESH AIR is becoming dustier by the day. There must be a CLEANSING, a spiritual rebirth of this great nation, what is happening in this country is worst than corruption. It is absolute WICKEDNESS. There are no reasons under the heavens why the NNPC will not have released the offer letters, no reasons whatsoever.
It is not surprising to see the recent developments, l had not looked at NHJ for sometime now, was working at deploying a web based AP. I had said it times without number here on this thread that there is no reason whatsoever why the NNPC should not have released the offer letters. The only reason which l see is that of WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES...
Even in the most advanced countries, Peaceful protest is a means of passing across your message. So Nigeria should not be an exception. If we feel we have been treated like sub-humans, which even to the dumbest of persons on the street we have, then Peaceful protest is not wrong. We should however approach more tactically, if we must succeed.
1. We must define our Major objective for the protest, I believe we have already.. This objective should not overlay the personally selfish interest of just the Nov.2010 Recruitment, it should be all encompassing(The 2008 Process, DPR, NNPC and several others)
2. We should write to the Police in the various states where the protest is to hold.
3. We should get the NLC (Labour Congress) informed, even if it is by writing, involve some other human rights activists etc
4. We should get the Private Media(Radio and TV) involved. eg. AIT, STV, Minaj etc
5 Acting in line with your faith is what faith with works means. We have kept the faith and now, we acting in line with it.
6. Heaven will record it that we have done all that is humanly possible.
7. God will then intervene.
Lets not forget nobody told you it is going to be rosy, but the lord has promised that he will be with you even in the fire...

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I support this protest 100% but sHould be organized PEACEFLLY. I'm aware of the fact that the employment process was put on hold by the house committee on FC due to the intention by some CABAL to derail the process to perfect their selfish interest. This protest will send signal to the committee that NNPC did not abide by the house order to suspend the process because the suspension still stands
Carry on see u guys on June 4th
