Alberte.... All the highlighted needs can be achieved within a day. It all depends on how serious we are with the move. If we're such ready to checkmate the illicit conduct of these rogues, then, the earlier the better b4 they outsmart us.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Good morning fellow hopefuls,
we are all talking loud but we are yet to arrive at anything concrete asides the date.
I think the topic today should center on the venue, time and mode of protest.
And as someone mentioned earlier, lets choose coordinators for each Zone: Warri can also be included(since we need one voice)!!
Lets not forget that June 4th is on a monday, we have just thursday and friday to do anything official!!
We can all storm the twitter pages of the media houses to inform them, if we can post about 200 tweets, I can assure you that all the media houses will be there.
Enough of words, NOW is the best time to act.
Thanks!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I'm happy that most hopefuls are coming to terms with the glaring fact that the 2010 recruitment has become a scam! It has been compromised! Howevr, a protest may not be the very best of actions to take (aldo proper as our fundamental human ryt). The truth is bitter. It is thus gud to see dat we hav come to ma point; the process is dead! Let's begin to look elsewhere for solace and leave those deceivers alone with their jobs!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I shall be going to the nnpc towers today for proper info and then possible negotiations. Then depending on the outcome, I shall proceed to the zone 3 police command to inform them of the planned protest on the 4th starting by 10am. I have notified some1 in NTA but he says NTA may not carry it bcos it is anti govt. Does anybody here know some1 in channels or ait? Kindly get back to the house as soon as u confirm that they will come. Enof is enof.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@All,
I will be in Lagos on 4th of June and I volunteer to coordinate for Lagos. Below are the suggested modalities:
Date: Monday 4th June 2012
Time: 8:00am prompt
Venue: departure from Chicken Republic @ Awolowo road ikoyi to destination of protest @ NNPC Lagos Zonal office 28, Ademola street, off Awolowo road, South West Ikoyi.
Uniform: White polo shirt and black trousers
Please I repeat, NO VIOLENCE!
Later today I will inform the police at any Police station on the Island or I will seek a court injunction for protest at Federal High Court Ikoyi.
Pls anyone with the contact of any media houses in Lagos Island/VI/Ikoyi should send me a pm so I can contact them. Also intending comrades with questions or suggestions can also send me a pm. Also, anyone who can volunteer printing of banner/slogan on 6yards or 4yards China white material should do so. We can discuss on the slogan to be printed. I shall volunteer to buy as many white cardboard papers for the attendees as possible plus markers.
Those in Abuja can use same itinerary and organize starting from TOTAL/Conoil filling station and protest in front of NNPC main entrance (not visitor's gate). If they have strength, they can trek from Wuse Market or from nearby Zone 4 (Sheraton junction) and cross the bridge to the Towers. I have a media person in Abuja to cover this. One in NTA, one in CoolFM and the other from Leadership newspaper. The Abuja cordinator shld contact me for their details.
ALUTA CONTINUA...VICTORIA ACERTA!!!
Comments and contributions pls...may God bless our efforts. Amen

@cente,whether d process has been compromised or not is not d issue of discuss here. The issue here is dat we are going 4protest. Bode George after he was convicted was forced 2refund d stolen money. Same goes 4Lucky Igbinedion, DSP Alamesiegha,James Ibori,& many others. If action was not taken on them, nothing would hav happened til 2day. There must be action b4 results wil follow. Every single place here on earth where somethng positive happened, check 4serious action & u must find one. Every hopefuls hav always been lookng in all directions 4other job opportunities, includng those of us who are already workng so if u have been sleepng since after applying 4d NNPC job, then u are d one who definitely needs 2wake up. Finally i strongly advice dat you dont come 2d thread 2discourage those who want 2excercise their legal & fundamental human rights 2freedom of expression thru peaceful protest, except ofcourse you are one of those simply working 4d NNPC.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Fellow hopefuls i must commend ur courage towards this planned protest as our efforts are already yielding very huge results. As i write this post, information coming from sources at the towers is that there is great tension at the towers already. They are considering two major options viz: (1)Employing all possible means to stop the planned protest (2) Going ahead to release the letters before the 4th of June so as to avert the looming damage which the protest will certainly cause the authorities at the towers. So all hands must be on deck to ensure that nothing under the face of the earth will ever truncate this planned protest. Verily verily i assure you that this planned protest is the 4th ACE and the JOKER that holds key to the release of our letters. NO RETREAT! NO SURRENDER !!
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
This protest thing is ill-advised as far as i am concerned hence i am not in support of it. Let us not be carried away by any form of youthful exuberance.
Every action comes with consequences; the cost of this you are planning may be too much for you to bear.
A word is enough for the wise!!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I wanted repenting from the way i handle issues on this thread, but from the way you guys are acting, i have no choice but to sumarize the following.
THAT;
1. None of you protested for NNPC to advertised the vancancy.
2. That NNPC is nobody's birthright.
3. That if at all the process is still hanging, you guys will probably bring it to termination and a new one advertise for a fresh lift, since the former will be seen as faulty by the stake holders involve/general public.. The process having stayed this long.
4. That what really makes you guys think the recruitment was not concluded.
5. You all risk arrest if any violence ensue in the course of the process.
6. The best way to mock urself for your inability to be creative is to advertise ur unemployment status by protesting foolishly.
7. It will truly be a parade of the Foolish if other creative options were not tested before this one.. A useless brigade if i may add.
GOODLUCK ANYWAY but this should actually be the last option!
-
Fellow hopefuls like i told you earlier, they are already employing different means to thwart the protest which include but not limited to using fellow forumites to discourage the plans. As we speak an emergency board meeting has been convened to hold at the NNPC towers today based on this planned protest as a result of information reaching the management, which i strongly believe some spies on this thread who pose as fellow hopefuls have been constantly feeding top NNPC management. From the recent posts that are now coming into this thread i hope it wont be quite difficult to recognise this set of people on this thread by their posts and i advice we completely disregard them and carry on with our plans and programs as already scheduled. No Retreat! No Surrender !!
-
My pple we must b united. I shal b part of lagos protest. Bebrief am fully ground. Never u b discouraged.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
The protest will not be for 2010 recruitment alone.2008 recruitment was also terminated, and people got employed through the backdooor.this alone is a just cause for a protest.they included 2008 recruitment in the budget and later cancel it.what did they use the money for? If care is not taken, the budget they presented for recruitment this year will also be diverted.these are just causes for a protest.if the ugly trend is not stoped, all other govt parastatas will join the queue:budget for recruitment, spend the money and so it will continue.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I use this opportunity to bring us all to the awareness that this planned protest has its good and bad sides: if the hopefulls are not yet ready to give up this nnpc job for the sake of posterity then we are not ready yet. As for me, if as a result of this protest, I loose my place in the nnpc or go to prison bcos I was fighting for the future of nigeria, then so be it. AbCd123, let me ask a e questin: are u planning to live forever? Join us, let us cease the opportunity available in this moment to say once upon a time we stood up for what is right in nigeria. That we were persecuted for standing for the good of our fatherland. Arise nigerian youth, arise from ur slumber o great nigerians, ur fatherland calls u today for her service, let us declare that we have feared enof, that we hav enof share of being intimidated and pushed aside, that we cannot allow our own children grow under the atmosphere created by our present crOp of leaders. Are u ready to pay the price for a better nigeria in future, are u willing to let go of ur nnpc jobs to save our father land from the hands of corrupt or incompetent hands. Arise o compatriot! Nigeria call obey! Nigeria is calling on u nw. Now now now now now. Arise from the pit of complacency. Arise! this is the time

guy, grow up.... the world does not revolve round you, and pls note that pple r more gainfully engaged than to monitor activities on Naija hot jobs.... if the process is to be completed it will be. if not, and for any reason they feel it should be truncated, i'm afraid thats what it will be. protest or not!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Emergency closed door meeting.top on d agenda- 2010 recruitment.presidency n legislators not aware of d truncation. Who informed them of ur planned protest???? Spies within d forum!!! Besides d one obviously mocking u,even d ones quoting bibles n fire n fire of d holy ghost...hmmmm! Beware, all r antics to delay any counter attack till d process dies a natural death. Mgt reshuffle imminent so d process expected to die wt it.
I wish to b one of those who will bring d radical change that ds country needs. Even within here,d rot in d system is so pungent that it nauseates.u can't beat them, most likely,u jus joined them.
Good luck, beautiful intelligent people of Nigeria. Ur destiny can't b thwarted.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
WELL, LET ME POST MY ONE AND ONLY COMMENT ON THIS THREAD!. I must say from the onset that I knew that it will all boil down to this. I saw the signs everywhere. I just flowed with the flow. For example at my test center, someone said some thing strange! He asked "which test is this?" he was told NNPC test. He then said "Is it for the job for which people have received appointment letter?" we looked at him, he claimed he had received his letter to resume in three months time. We
did not mind him though!.
One HR guy told me never to bother that all the jobs have been given out. A friend who works as with a firm that's a contractor to NNPC told me to forget the process. He was invited to Abuja for an interview after that POOOOF! that was all. He said as he was working on the compressors one day, some trainee engineers all from the ***
part of Nigeria were been taken on a tour round the place. He then asked who are these people he was told that they are the new recruits from the just concluded recruit process. He said he laughed!.
At my base here in benin, a friend whose sisters husband works at one of the subsidiaries of NNPC said the in-law said he does not understand what is happening. He gets to his office in the morning, checks his mail and he sees a heading, captioned TREAT URGENTLY. He opens the mail and sees some names of ten people all form the *** part of Nigeria, all for immediate employment. He expressed his disappointment in the entire system!
My Brothers, NNPC is not the ultimate, am not trying to discourage anyone, I wished I worked there, but as the corruption has twisted things, we have to move on, afterall, NNPC is not the ultimate, its just a starting point.
Goodluck Everyone

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
ABCD I must say is 100% correct! This should be the very last resort. Tell me which protest in nigeria that has ever yielded positive result- nigeria! Do not be like the Tortoise who spent seven years in the sit toilet and on his day of release, he made his captors change their mind cos if complained that the smell was unbearable! Last time, some of us net with Farouk lawan with the hope that if would champion our cause. Unfortoately, the politicians became interested in the slots as having 'boys.' in nnpc and dpr will enable them by pass due process in future. Abeg o!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
guy,free me now.wetin i do you?
i came out here,to tell you that from where i sit, from what i saw...that the process was dead.[
you led a group to call me names, and decided to believe vin20, who gave you hope, asking me to leave the thread.
what exactly do you want?
QUOTE=thurllyboy;623265]Wait a sec! I dont think i've read a piece frm these great guyz since this protest ambition started. The likes of ; Patorini, Vin20, JA, ABCD123, Abujababe, FromFrance, Ihope and a host of them. I hope they're not sitting on the fence this time, or are they on their side-eranding for them? Its a question sir/ma[/QUOTE]

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
"these batch of recruits have not been inducted yet, they are already causing us trouble and embarrassment! Lets cancel the process and advertise a new vacancy. Afterall, its our decision to recruit or not". I do hope we succeed but, we should be as gentle as Doves but wise as Serpents. One who takes the road of peace is not a coward but the bravest and smartest of all. Aluta spirit will take us nowhere. This is the real world- wake up!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

But I want everybody to fear nothing because I am on my way to nnpc towers now. I shall submit a petition with the beaureau of public complaints and then proceed to tthe police. I shall personally ensure that all peacefull means of settlement ar exhausted b4 june 4th. If u are in support pls post ur reply now. Lewt us drown the voice of those that oppose the truth

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
its erroneous and wrong for you to assume that i would discourage the protest...why?
who broke your heart before....i only told you the process was dead from where i sat, and you began to call me names.[
QUOTE=kafox;623528]......fellow Hopefulls, i say it again....
D protest must hold! U dont know d power of a protest until u carry out one. Its more powerful dan unaswereable prayers at times.
Even if it doesnt give out our letters, atleast it'l give d icpc/efcc some job since d presidency hav been soft pedalling d subsidy probe reports. I guarantee u dat d presidency isnt resposible for d delay and may not even know abt it bcos we'v not let dem know. In dis country if u dont say ur problem no one'll solve it for u.
Brethren dis is d tym for our voice to b heard!
Imagine a simple retirement by abt 20 board members is more important dan over 44,000 fine graduates dat risked deir tym, resources and lives to sit for deir useless test.
Abeg we no go gree!!! Leave JA out! Leave Vin20 out! They'l only discourage u or worse still break ur hearts again.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
We care less if the process is 'TRUNCATED' or even 'CONDUITCATED', the protest must hold. 4th of june is the day. NNPC here we come!!!!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
We have a tentative of 4th June and kick-off time /venue for lagos,
What about Kick of locations for ABUJA, Port Harcourt and Warri? Assuming it 8:am

This protest must hold God's grace, people saying all sort of stories is just 'piss in d wind' giving us a job is not a privilege bt a right. we don't care if d process is cancelled bt lets stop dis sharp practices. life continue wt or wtout nnpc, bt letting dis go 'is a slap on my face.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Dennis bergkamp & ABCD ur cowardise is shameful and a big disgrace. The former even asked what protest in naija has yielded +ve results. R u kidding or sleep talking. What did the subsidy protest achieve, what do strikes and protest by pengasan, asuu and co achieve. Guy park well, and come up with anoda excuse.
Though I don't believe there is any reaction to the planned protest @ the towers as we speak or that we'll be organised by the 4th but that doesn't mean I'm against a peaceful protest. From ur post seems u have exhausted civil means of getting results, so what other option is left.
Protests r a norm in every civilised nation of the world I don't see y naija is any different. In the past year there have been protests in London,Greece, Spain,Portugal,France,Canada, Australia, US etc all achieving meaningful results.
Citizens like u r what make this country as corrupt and lawless as it is, cos our leaders can afford to do as they please cos they know there will be no repercussions or reactions, and that we all will pray about it. The sooner u understand ur rights and hold ur leaders accountable, the "best" for naija.
Looking forward to a well organised protest.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Monday, June 4, 2012, 8am is appropriate for the planned peaceful demonstration for NNPC 2010/2011 Recruitment Exercise. For how long our leaders would continue marginalize us? I support candidates to converge at ABUJA, LAGOS , PORT-HARCOURT offices . We shall bring this issue to a logical conclusion with peaceful domo and legal means, this is democracy.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Persistent protests were able to bring down Military dictators from their seats in government, talk less of reviving a dead recruitment process. Pls all, let no one discourage us from this brave move. Trust me; we have nothing to lose but a lot to gain. After all, we’ve been calm all the while and nothing is happening. That was how the 2008 recruitment died a natural death. It is going to be different this time around, 2010 recruitment must resurrect. We will change the way our leaders treat the masses. Stop giving all these cowardly excuses, why will they make us go through physical and emotional stress and also sign off for a huge fund in our names, if they were not ready for it in the first place. Since they’ve gone this far, the right is no longer theirs but ours and we must take it. There is no going back, from June 4th till the day the letters are released.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
NAFDAC, NSITF recruitments after that of NNPC had been concluded shortly after 2012 budget was passed. When NNPC knew that they could not employ the successful candidates, why advertised for jobs? Why called us for interviews? Why we were given e-payment forms for transport reimbursements? NO , NO our leaders are not doing the right things and they are laying bad examples for the younger ones. This PEACEFUL PROTEST MUST HOLD, NO VILOENCE, NO VIOLENCE.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Did i hear Dennis Bergkamp ask which protest in Nigeria has ever yielded any positive result? Last year, nationwide protests by labour and civil society organisations pulled down the price of petrol from N140 tn N97 a litre Eventhough we didnt revert to the former price, bringing down the price alleviated a lot of untold sufferings from the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Again, protest by the same set of groups including the Save Nigeria Group(SNG) forced president Jonathan to be sworn in as acting president after the death of former president Umaru Musa Yar'Adua when most of the powers brokers and kingmakers never wanted him be in charge at the presidential villa at Aso Rock. And to tohbad & all those with funny comments, i'll just let you know that big corporations actually assign people the responsibility of monitoring activities concerning them including what people are saying about them, public perception of their image, activities of their competitors, as well as any external activities by outsiders which might impact negatively on their corporate image. In the industrial sector, it is called INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, Or INTELLIGENCE GATHERING, or CORPORATE IMAGE MANAGEMENT. I've worked in two of such big corporations previously and is still part of a multinational presently so stop asking me questions that will only expose your status as an industrial neophyte. As for the planned protests with or without those of you who are either chicken-hearted or are working as stooge to the NNPC, go back and tell them that it is NO RETREAT,NO SURRENDER COME 4th JUNE 2012.
-
They knew d process will nt b completed, nd make us travel wt all d risk, spend our money no way, pikin we no allow him mama sleep, him too no go sleep, make dem eat d money bt dey will pay ten times,we no go let them & their children rest, unless justice is done. enough is enough.vote on time pls

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Since July/August 2011 the interviews were conducted, Xmas came and passed, 2012 budget sent and passed, now moving to June, NO this is wickedness of our leaders. Mr.President even said PIB would be ready by June. Why NNPC did not wait for PIB to be fully passed b4 recruitment was set out if they had no hidden agenda. even just T-fare stipends that could not cover some candidates' t-fare to-and-fro to Abuja are yet to be paid. Infact, President Goodluck Jonathan must not hear this case.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
My heart aches 4 dis country. Our leaders have pushed us 2 wall, NNPC, MPR have taken us 4 granted as though we r gud 4 nothing. there's no other way backwards but a REBOUND. Nnpc dey for bayo- kuku, ikoyi.
