Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
For some, it is as if, it was yesterday, the memories are ever fresh. For others it is as if, hope is lost forever. For a whole lot more, it never existed in the first place. In the adventures of life, there comes a point in time when you are at crossroads, when the odds tilt greatly against everything you stand and will die for, when your heart and mind & everything in you tends to ponder about the subject "LIFE". God did not say your faith will not be tested, God did not say you will not pass through fire. He said your faith will be tried by fire, for every belief you have in him will be tested. He said when you go through fire, l will be with you. Hoping against HOPE, you have to keep keeping on. A glorious day is coming when we shall be unveiled.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I heard that the list is on the minister,s table for her asset, and i equally heard she is waiting for PIB to be taken to GEJ for approval, then to national assembly for consideration, before she will release the list, in anticipation that before resumption in 10 weeks or more, the pib would have been passed into law, and probably NNPC is unbundled. Believe this or not that is the game plan of madam minister lead board of NNPC.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Was there PIB when the whole process started? Can we be more constructive? Vin20 is telling us 2 wait for ten weeks or so. Fine. Can he just stop posting 4 d next 10 weeks, while we wait? Some many conflicting predictions 4rm one individual is absurd. Keep quite if u have no geniune info. Thanks.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Vin20...... Vin20!!! Hmmmmmn!!! A real comic relief... Are you confused or something? Or is it that you just like making controversial statements? Or that you like taking us for rides? Or do I call you a "Comedy of Errors?"
Am I confused here too......
One advise, dear friend..... STOP POSTING!!!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I think wat JAJAMARK posted ( I still believe in divine intervention ) should be our focus now bcos I could not realy know why this NNPC recruitment is like this, honestly. NNPC staff is saying d corporation is understaffed, even a friend in NNPC confirmed, so why NNPC refuses to call us for jobs? Truly we need God's intervention.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Vin20 is a nice guy.
I think the problem some of us have with him is that he is a PIB fan,and that's not bad atall.
I want that bill passed as it will empower Nigerians to run the oil n gas business and introduce some level of transparency.
Though it has its disadv also.
What many of us detest is after vin20 has given some info that raises our hopes,he will end it by saying it must wait until PIB is passed.
Sometimes I just read it and smile or laugh when I feel like.
Let's be calm and pray.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I mentioned JA and Vin20 but it seems no one understood my point. I hope a hopeful out there does. JA has never been pin-point in his statements; one time he says the HAWKS have taken over, anoda time he says the list is ready and the hawks have been shamed. Then he goes back again and again. He cud also say put on ur dancing shoes, den anoda time he wud say he weeps for the whole process. He wud giv a date for call-up and den change it later. And just bcos his profile name has "Jesus", forumites take his words hook line and sinker. I employ you to read thru a handfull of his silly posts and see ow he bends forumites with is sycophancy. Vin20 is just out of it: a simple example of our failed university system. If we have such an illiterate in NNPC, I wonder the extent of damage he would do. Such illitrate-graduates make learned ones turn fraudulent, beliving dat it doesn't pay to be brilliant. He says successive instead of successful; what an unpardornable blunder!
The sycophant and the illiterate-graduate rule this thread. What a PITY!

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ cente, even if you insult them from now till eternity, you cant stop them (JA and Vin20) from posting.so why the insult?evrybody is free to post anytin on this thread.the one you just posted is yor opinion, but take caution!!!!
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@ kalokalo. The fact that u started this thread doesn't make u ryt. And u ar not a moderator here. U ar also a rumour monger if I didn't mention it. And pls don't tell me to take caution cos I kno their ar odas dat share my view. Let me bear my mind. U ar not d owner of this thread, get that in2 ur head!
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
You guys are still here? wow!!. I think that if NNPC should call us now, we should just (vex) and tell them we do not want their offer!lol. No one has the right to make intelligent young people this "desperate", No one!
-
@cente i understand ur anger but i howeva wants us to be discrete abt ths issue. The undeniable fact is dat these pple meant well. They are victims of a process that remain shrouded in secrecy. Regardng JA we need to give him some respect, he has gven some authentic info on ths forum in the past. If hs info are not real this time around, there might be reason for that. For vin20 let us be careful wt our choice of words. We re all victims of a failed system. May God help us all.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Cente, try and get any inform to the house, or tell us what is delaying the process or when will the letter,s be released. Since we are given fake information to the house. Anyway God bless u, but for me what matters is to make list having waited so long ok .
-
@wolesmile i see chelsea-bayern final. I want platini shamed. Whats ur view. I once told a friend barca would be knockd out he didnt believe me.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Cente,I normally laugh over the fightings in this thread but was touched by your anger and insult on JA and Vin20.
To keep the records straight,I never relied 100% on any message by JA,afterall he's also an applicant and 'hopeful' like myself. One thing in Nigeria is that those that are truly connected rarely enter fora like this and say some authentic/confidential information. They only work for themselves and few selected friends. So spare JA & Vin20 for getting a very distant info and sharing with us.
Also, you are not the only one that have noticed the wavering of JA,I did but ignored it and sticked to what I believe.
Now for calling Vin20 an illiterate-graduate,let us review some lines posted by your brilliant self;
1.I "employ" you?
2.Let me "bear" my mind?
3.With "is" sycophancy?
4.What an "unpardornable" blunder?
Let me stop at that since English is never my mother tongue and I am also prone to 'silly' mistakes like my brother Vin20.
May God's face shine upon us all....AMEN!
!.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Cente, i think you are misplacing your anger, your anger should be directed at NNPC not at fellow hopefuls who are trying to feed the house with what they hear, afterall somebody like me dont have any source of information for the house, so i m always grateful when someone volunteer information even if it is eventually wrong. Let not discourage anybody from sharing information because of gramatical error or the fear that somebody will insult them.
One thing i m very sure is the fact that NNPC will call, i dont know how long more it will take, but they will call.
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
its just pathetic. What kind of harm can Vin20 cause in NNPC for God's sake because his written English isn't perfect. Yours isn't too. The job is not about English my friend. It's diligence, hardwork, Integrity, Teamwork etc..not English. He isn't going there to teach English Language, neither does it imply He is a corrupt fellow because his English language skills isn't up to your standard. Please, Please..stop hating.stop underrating! We have seen scenarios like this before, it never ends well. who knows if Vin20 would perform better than Cente in NNPC! Who's to say what and why! I dont just like this kind of attitude. Thanks and learn.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
The House of Representatives yesterday began the debate of the report of its Ad hoc Committee on fuel subsidy probe. The panel submitted its report in Abuja last Wednesday. Scores of companies were indicted for their roles in the scam.
The firms, including government agencies, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) were asked to refund over N1trillion to the Federation Account. But the NNPC insisted it did not pocket any subsidy money.
The report had generated a lot of controversy with accusations and counter-accusations.
Flagging off the debate chaired by Deputy Speaker, Hon. Emeka Ihediora yesterday, the House made a u-turn when it ordered the indicted 17 oil companies to appear before it. The latter claimed they did not receive any letter of invitation to state their roles in the subsidy saga to the Hon. Farouk Lawan-led committee.
The firms were asked by the panel to refund N41.96billion to the Federal Government even as the House ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to beging investigation and possible trial of Dr. Ahmadu Ali, who was National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The companies last week announced that they were going to take legal action against the House over their indictment and the panel’s directive to refund the said amount.
Debating on the committee’s report, which was laid before the House on April 18, the lawmakers explained that the invitation of the companies was not a repudiation from its recommendations, but in the spirit of fairness. Hon Toby Okechukwu said it would be in line with justice, which he said, was the purpose of setting up the committee to give the firms an opportunity to state their own side of the story.
He noted that since the companies were not given direct invitation during the probe to appear before the committee, it was right to extend an invitation to them. His position was endorsed by Hon Ossai Ossai, Lawan and Deputy Speaker Ihedioha.
Debating the recommendations, the lawmakers voted overwhelmingly for the prosecution of Dr Ali over his alleged role in the subsidy saga. Ali was also Chairman of PPPRA during the period investigated by the committee.
The committee had recommended that he and other members of the board be reprimanded for their decisions, which “opened the floodgate for the bazaar “. However, the lawmakers rejected that recommendation, arguing that he deserved to be prosecuted.
There was a drama before the recommendation was endorsed. The Deputy Speaker, who chaired the debate, had tried to convince his colleagues to stick to the earlier recommendation to reprimand Ali, but the plan failed as the lawmakers especially those from the opposition parties, insisted on his prosecution.
Another controversial decision taken by the House on the report was the endorsement of a recommendation that the Ministry of Petroleum Resources be split into two to ensure effective supervision. They urged President Goodluck Jonathan to split the ministry if he was serious about reforming the sector.
The lawmakers objected to the continued headship of the NNPC board, saying that it negates effective supervision. Some lawmakers, however, opposed the recommendation on the ground that only the amendment of NNPC Act can alter the current arrangement.
The stage for the debate was earlier laid by the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who charged the lawmakers to ignore insinuations by some people and discuss the report in a manner that would favour Nigerians.
He said in a two-page speech which elicited ovation, “Today, we are here to consider the product of that sacrifice. Before you is the report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the monitoring of fuel subsidy regime which was set up to verify and determine actual subsidy requirements.
“And I must commend the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Farouk Lawan and the rest of his committee members, for their courage, dedication and professionalism. They were given a crucial assignment and they handled it with the integrity and patriotism it deserved.”
Tambuwal said: “But we must never forget who we are and where we are, because Nigerians are watching us very closely and history will judge what we do here today. I therefore urge each and everyone of you to look at this report dispassionately.
“Let me reiterate the fact that we are discharging a Constitutional assignment here and it is therefore, incumbent upon us to do our duty without fear or favour. Let me also remind you that we are fighting against entrenched interests whose infectious greed has decimated our people. Therefore, be mindful that they will fight back, and they do fight dirty”.
He faulted the position of EFCC on the prosecution of those indicted in the report, describing the stand of the anti-graft agency as untenable.
He said: “I have heard all kinds of insinuations, including the one about anti-graft agencies waiting for a ‘harmonised version’ of this report before taking any action. Let me quickly say here that this is at best an excuse that cannot stand after all the same agencies accept and investigate petitions from individuals, how much more resolutions of this House, there will be no such document so, they should just go ahead and do their job and where they find any person or body culpable, they should proceed in accordance with the law”.
The debate is expected to continue today.
Meanwhile, The House of Representatives has dismissed fears that the decision to re-invite the 17 oil marketers that did not appear before its ad-hoc committee that probed the fuel subsidy regime was a strategy to scuttle the report.
Addressing newsmen shortly after amending the clause recommending the handing over of the 17 companies to “the relevant anti-corruption agencies”, Chairman of the House Committee on Media, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, said the decision was taken in the interest of fair hearing.
“It is not true. People know that the 17 oil companies are being economical with the truth. We decided to re-invite them in the principle of fair hearing. If they appear within the next two weeks, whatever report we have on them will form part of a supplementary report,” he said.
He dismissed speculations that the oil companies may have adopted non-invitation as a strategy to scuttle the report. He insisted that a two-week grace to the companies would not affect whatever stand the lawmakers would take on the report.
“We are giving them an additional two weeks. It does not and cannot change the decimal. It remains the same. We are aware of the enormous responsibility on us and can therefore not afford to fail,” he assured.

Cente, what will u do if d list comes out 2day, and ur name is not there but JA, VIN20 and others made it? Insult them? Close down NNPC? Why judge a system u have no control over? Can't u just relax and give us ur own info?
