Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Seun, i must align with abcd for the very first time, hopefully not the last. You spoke the mind of Christ. But tell me why'd you have to go and make it so complicated at that part..smh. That's an insult. Whether one calls one a fool or half-baked whatever..insult na insult. I suggest you take that back. Apology only shows maturity!
-
Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Although, seun never called anyone a half-baked graduate. He only just used wits in saying No one should criticise his post. Come to think of it,where i'm working presently..you know na,uncle things. Lol.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
My fellow hopefull,i have said before that what is actually delaying the release of list is petroleum industry bill, not budget as pupolar believe, but thank God i heard it is ready for representation to NASS very soon before their resume frm their Easter recess.bcos it is budget that is holding 2008 recruitment process or that DPR that have lasted over two yrs now.anyway wht old man see while siting down, a small boy can not see it while standing, but not insulting anybody pls,or kliming senior nor superior, but u must be spiritually enclined to see or to understand what am saying.Nevetheless this is our month of favour bcos of the season we are in now .

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@Seunlove, ur write up was a good one but the 2nd to the last line defeated the essence of the whole write up. The fact that someone has a divergent view doesn't make him/her half-baked. Ironically, it is people like you who are actually half-baked; people who feel their opinion is the most correct. You dont excel that way neither do u learn that way. I know u're lecturing in one of the Nigerian university, i wonder what becomes of undergraduates u'd mentor.
If you have been opportuned to have some exposure to education outside the country, u wld know that lecturers are the most humble set of people, people who are willing to make their opinion heard and also willing to learn from others. Food for tot bruv.

There are some salient questions we really need to ask ourselves at this critical period. Why condemn lobbyist ? why make them look like outcasts ? is lobbying not the tradition in Nigeria ?
How many people can truly boast that they have never benefitted from anything through influence ? what makes you think the 44 thousand applicants shortlisted for the aptitude test are truly the most qualified ? How do you explain the exclusion of some 1st class graduates in core engineering discipline s who are products of federal universities and who fall within the approved age bracket ? does it mean that these 44 thousand invited are more qualified than they are ?
what makes you think the 4700 invited for interview are truly the best ? can you confidently affirm that none of them routed through the hurdles of test via guess work ? can you bet that that PCL officials can be likened to pope John Paul who will never compromise standard ? can you put a priced possession on the line to affirm that none of those you are fighting for is having his/her current job because he/she knew somebody and so did not have to go through the process.
Let us stop treating NNPC as an isolated case , people wield influence where it is possible , some of the hopefuls are bankers because they have an uncle or in-law who is a regional manager, some of us are lecturers at the university not because of our 1st class, but because our dad is a professor at the same university or our mother is the registrar.
The fact that an individual attempts a political advantage does not make him/her a “fool”.
Within biblical precepts the word “fool” on human beings , a creation of God is a misnomer and an unreligious utterance, the fact that people wax prophetic on this thread does not make them the most religious, under no circumstances should a full fledged Christian refer to anybody or group of persons as a “fool.”
As a self opinionated true Christian you have to be a bit selfish in your prayers, you should pray that no forces shall be strong enough to contend with the inclusion of your name in the list. Vouching for the integrity of the process or attempting an umbrella prayer is overly ambitious .
Mind you JA , God suspends protocols for the supernatural to take its course, there are no laws to govern the supernatural, Master Jesus walked on water, he fed five thousand , Jesus did not take Lazarus to LUTH or University of Ibadan teaching hospital before he was brought back to life, he healed leprosy without conducting lab test.
If only you can believe then you can have it, Bishop Oyedepo once said “you limit God in you life when your eyes are fixed on natural laws”. Faith is in the heart and not the head, the principles of God defies logic, faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen and “he calleth things that were not as if they were” Bishop Abioye once said “ God is not interested in your credentials or dementias, all he wants is a right heart and you shall see mountains move, you shall see oceans retreat because you believed”. Bishop Aremu is noted for saying “God will lift up men for your sake, some people are promoted not because God is truly interested in their promotion but because he wants to use them as connect bridge to lift up the very elect.
As much as i am not too comfortable with absence of merit, i have come to accept it as a necessary evil that has come to stay. Within honest assessment, how many “hopefuls”, “faithful” or “lobbyist” will not attempt a political advantage if they have the means to influence the process ? There is no technical difference between these three categories.
Let ‘s quit labelling lobbyist as spoilers, because at one point or the other in our individual lives we have gained an unfair advantage over others.
All half-baked graduates are strongly encouraged to criticize this post.
God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
@seunlove I shake my head in disbelieve, if a lecturer in one of our universities is a beneficiary & advocate of "lobbying" then what becomes of his students? Then sorting, lobbying for marks,egunje.......will reign supreme.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
I go through it all over again.
With great belief, I shake my head n stamp my feet. It might or might not come from the corporation but the information the NNPC, Nigeria page has always carried are proven to be correct.
Given dat its last update is explicit and straight to d point, ie a time frame's given for appointment letters n no none for t-fare reimbursemnt, i've come to realize dat's more reliable dan any of all our 'sources' from d towers.
As a result, I chose to believe it untill time, and not any of us, proves it wrong.
From next week to d end of dis month we shall see.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
^^@kafox, I am with you on this and moreso because I am believing God for quick conclusion of the "waiting".
If you read that NNPC,Nigeria page you will see that "the announcer" don't even have time to respond to questions or criticisms(atleast at the last time I checked).
Let's wait and see,as we also pray.
May God favour as many as put their trust in Him.
Happy Easter celebrations and ponder about the love of Jesus.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
Some one or a group in this thread may have been playing fast one on almost 100% of the house mate. Its possible that some ones account is made richer each time we visit this site and particularly, "A new thread for NNPC hopefuls". This site/thread is one of the highest visited in the world of cyber. And if true, such person(s) will do everything in its best to keep us yearning for information concerning this lingered recruitment with NNPC, 2010. Though my opinion, I think will can do ourselves a lot good if we can manage and control the number of visits. After all, there are three different forms that any one who will be successful could be reached; via e-mail, currier, text mgs and phone calls. Its high time we try to relax this anxiety. Often time its one high-spiriting information followed by a negative outcome. Imagine the NNPC Facebook mgs. Some even went on to tell us he had put a call with PCL and its in affirmative. All of these will not help us, rather they help this group and their agent to actualize it plans. How can such an information that has been secret like NNPC, 2010 find its way in a"Jankar market"? While I believe that the process may still be on, there is also the possibility that a colonial master is on this thread and perhaps, in the engine room. Good morning.

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
My God! I am only seeing the talents! There are excellent thinkers and writers in this forum.
Anyone who can help write a classic (I hope that will inspire the spirit of nationalism & sacrifice in our leaders and the people) I have never been able to sit down and put together. I am serious.

5. You waited till.......................................
6. You kept waiting till another surprised mail informed you of your success and shortlisting on Friday, July 1, 2011 11:18 AM
7. You waited again till your interview date and attended it in ABUJA in JULY\AUGUST 2011.
8. You have waited all this while till this April 2012................... i believe the day that surprise mail would pop again is very very close.. the wait has really been long
Just keep an open mind like you have done all these months....

Re: A new thread for NNPC Hopefuls
my dear seunlove,
from all indications and with the dropping of the names of patriarchs in the faith,
you are not just a brother, but a member of the same household, under the same prophetic covering.
i would have really appreciated this brotherly rebuke/reprimand to have been done via calls or pm, as some have done in recent past.
my brother, my brother...i tremble at the names you mentioned in your illustration.i am also in awe of your wisdom which depicts much learning and reading.
my brother, Scripture defines a fool, as some one, who says in his heart that there is no God. it makes him take actions, have false hopes and says things that belittles the existence or sovereignty of God in mans affairs.
my brother, seunlove, scripture also speaks of a young rich man, who spent all his time acquiring properties and wealth-and God called him a fool, because his life was to be taken that very day.no appreciation or recognition of God in his affairs.
seunlove, scripture says-cursed is the man, that trusteth in the arm of flesh-in what a man/money can do for him/her. there is a curse on a fool.
sir, i don't know how long you've been on this thread, but there was a time some strange brethren were mocking us. they were really reviling some of us. they were making jest of our faith in god and brandishing credentials of senators, traditional rulers and politicians, who were going to get them the job, by crook or by hook.
i wish you were here then...i saw christian and Muslims unite on this thread to chase the infidels away....proving what Ive always said that religion is not Nigeria problem....but corruption.
now,my dear brother, from the above, what do you call such people......they are fools under a curse, simple.
scripture says, we shouldn't call somebody a fool, who is not a fool-,not that when we see a real fool, as defined in the scripture, we shouldn't call him that.in fact it said,we shouldn't call a brother a fool......because a brother is not expected to be a fool.
finally sir, there is a thin, almost naked line between favour and lobby. if you visit the GMD NNPC,and he gives you a job-beautiful. that's favour. several senior positions in the NNPC didn't go through a recruitment drive, like the current general manager(security)...he just came on board, no advertisement.
but where there is an advert, meant to deceive people, and make them suffer irreparable losses in the process there-of, and some fools get it through the back door, that's lobbying......corruption.God does not approve of it, no matter how correct you you think it is. he will bless you, but definitely through a corrupt ridden process. God is not part of what will not give glory to his name. it must bring glory. it must draw men to worship.
i love you brother, many things i want to say,ive sent you a brotherly pm..best regards my newly found brother

JA many tanx 2ur posts. With all due respet 2ur personal views, do u actually realize that in a nationwide recruitment in2 a National Corporation like the NNPC, top politicians and even NNPC top management have slots specifically reserved 4them. Do u really see any1 coming in on d basis of such provision as being corrupt or a fool. In as much as i dont fancy any1 bragging or boasting of his or her connections, i equaly advice u not 2try 2create unnecessary confusion by hiding under d cover of Christianity 2make misleadng statements cos even the bible recognizes d place of unmerited favour. If in doubt ask God why He loved Jacob & hated Esau even b4 they were even born. Also ask Him(Jehovah) why He said (1)"I WILL SHOW MERCY ON WHOM I WILL SHOW MERCY".(2) "IT IS NOT OF HIM THAT WILLETH NOR OF HIM THAT RUNNETH BUT OF GOD THAT SHOW MERCY".Read Isaiah chapters 41,43,& 54. to understand d extent God can go when He wants 2help those He decides to help." Right from the bible days, favouritism has always been in existence. If God decides to favour anyone through some highly placed connections, who are you to question Him. Your concern should be that God should make a way for you even where there seems to be no way. Some people who are more qualified than you in all ramifications applied for the same position as u did bt were never shortlisted for inexplicable reasons. All the same lets keep praying to make the final list whether by management quota, presidential slot, merit, or any other special considerations.1Luv & 1HOUSE. Quote:
