This recruitment would have been concluded before now if not for political vultures who want their people whether qualified or not to be recruited.The GM responsible for recruitment we learnt stood his ground,bent on following merit. That's one great victory,but we must continue praying fervently and not just wait and do nothing.Great faith shows no anxiety,but is relaxed,yet violent.This delay lingered until the NNPC saga surfaced,subsidy,corruption and now NNPC's inability to defend its budget.These issues starved the corporation of fund such that most staff of NNPC received their salary so late in January.This, in the history of NNPC has never happened for more than 30 years. This is the main reason why the recruitment has been delayed this long.You can't employ people when you can't pay those already employed.Let's pray God do some shaking in our favour. I am still hopeful of March at the latest.

Why can't we be patient till after the NOG conference in Abuja? This is the largest gathering of stakeholders in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry. The Minister just gave a speech this morning. If you stay in Abuja, you can as well come to the ICC and register as a visitor. You culd also connect with other opportunities in the industry. You don't need to conclude yet, the industry is busy this week, let wait and see the next step in the recruitment process after this week. I'm at the conference and today is the second day.
If you think the process is cancelled, it either the Minister is lying to the Senate/House abt the on-going recruitment that will soon be concluded or the budget for training of new intakes is a false.
Rather I think the discussions should be on alternatives for self-sufficiency in petroleum products supply e.g. Gas-to-Liquids and Modular Refining etc

It now looks as if they members of this thread had been penciled for success in this NNPC staffing. But the fact is that not every one will make it even though we all wish so. I now u hv already counted ur self. I think u should be optimistic and as well plan should in case we see ourself in the other side. God knows those He has chosen and by His grace u are among. If not dance ur way to the tower praising God

@JA: Most times u post comments which r open to different interpretations, and when misinterpreted u come out with the full story then everyone starts apologizing and what not. A typical example occurred last week.
Why allow this in the first place unless u enjoy it.

Concerning this NNPC issue, I have chosen not to believe anything again.It has always been the issue of "ups and downs".Today, it would be a case of pending rumour that the recruitment has been cancelled: tomorrow will be the case of letters to be released in two weeks time, the day after tomorrow;the need to get ones dancing shoes and .......
Many respect to those who have been taking the pains to give update to the house, but permit me to say that no one has given an impeccable piece of information so far;though the degree of reliability differs.Even, hearing from the horse's mouth(as in the case of DPR recruitment ) cannot be relied upon again:during the budget defence, reasons were given as to why there was increment in the annual budget for the payment of salary and the responses made had to do with recruitment of new intake.In fact, specific time frame was mentioned,but nothing has happened up till this minute.
Based on this and many other events that had happened in the past: people coming here to tell the house that they were more than hundred percent sure that 'certain things' will take place within an interval of time, I have decided to read and stick to my gun that perhaps only Madam Minister,GMD and the man in charge of HR and recruitment know the current situation of things.My personal believe is that if nothing happens next month or early April,then, we might well be heading towards the era of HOPE '93.All the same,if the DPR hopefuls still have vigour in them,having been in the race for two years or so, then we might still have some vestige of hope if nothing still happens after April.SHALOM

@kalokalo, there will be no effect. A government that is bent on creating jobs cannot slash the budget for new intakes. There are 1001 other areas to slash The ministries budget. He that keepeth Isreal neither sleeps nor slumber. He watches over his own.
The truth is that man will continue to live in expectancy, hope and dynamism. Even at worst moment, one should intensify to match on. Almost every one has some sort of plans. I mean, plan A, B.... If NNPC fails then...... This is what it should be. Do not think life stops if NNPC fails. of course even if u don't hv any job right away, life still goes on. Thanks to some many who has been feeding the thread with info. Many are jokers however.
