One concept easy to misinterpret and abuse is that of God. While I am not disputng he speaks, I want us to be conscious it is easy to hear other voices apart from God's. However when God has spoken it will definitely come to pass no matter what. He doesnt go back on his promises and he doesnt need our help to fulfil them. Patience shows who has heard or not from God. Time is all we need to give.
If it comes,fine.if it doesnt come,fine.God is still capable.
There is no need doubting God @ this point. The second batch is on the way. Lets just be patient.
It's been a while I checked on the situation of things here. Inasmuch as it is a good thing to hope and pray, we shouldn't forget that one very important antecedent is to work hard too. NNPC practically put most of our lives on hold for 2 years. No one really could advance his studies because you had no idea when you would be called. From December 2010 till July 2012, one could've gotten an M.Sc, or some form of academic advancement. We all heard how most of those who were called possess 2 or even 3 M.Scs. Some of us I'm sure were fresh out of NYSC as at March last year and as such might not really be able to compete in a nation where your B.Sc is gradually becoming as useless as your WAEC. I want to suggest candidly that we seize the opportunity of the upcoming academic year to get an M.Sc. Let's be realistic, it makes no sense sitting and waiting for a 2nd list that will be way smaller than the first. There is every chance a lot of us will not make it. And those of us who just commenced training I gather will be there for 8 months at least. NNPC will not call anyone from this new recruitment drive till these 'students' graduate. It is a fact. I suggest we apply in this new recruitment drive, and use that waiting period and go back to school. Go and get an M.Sc in environmental science or something. Combine it with relevant certifications along the way, and thank me after one year for there is no way you will not be better equipped and more qualified for what you have applied for. Just my thoughts.
Nice one Qed. I'm doing my msc & also patiently waiting. Once its released, i'w suspend my thesis until after training. Having said that, its good we know that having 4masters isnt wat qualify u for the nnpc appointment. The requirement is still 2.1 or 2.2 with masters. Its ur performance in test & interview, accompanied by state cut off that counts. Not removing favour out of the equation. I believe many here are working, some doing their msc & others are applying as well. Lets keep doing our business. All what i know is that the 2nd bacth is very real & when it comes out, i'w be in. I have followed this thread silently as I did not apply to NNPC for the recently concluded exercise.
My two cents is pls don't limit God - He's able to do much more than NNPC. I have 2 friends who resumed at their respective offices on Monday in different towns. They both HATE the offices and are starting to question if they made the right decision to leave their multi-national jobs (though not high paying but very well structured) for NNPC. I spent part of yesterday encouraging and saying God always has a plan.
@QED, your analogy just maybe might be right in some cases. Both of them have MSc.

That's cool, is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? I can see we 've lots of brain here. My own suggestion is, can we get together and form a political association after, I repeat AFTER THE SECOND BATCH and our terget should be the election in 2015 I thinK we will have a chance to make an inpact.
