@All: I wish to congratulate all those who have got their NNPC appointment letter and also pray that the almighty God will reward our fellow hopefuls who did not make it this time. This recruitment may not be 100% merit, but I do know that a greater percentage resides on merit because I know my case. Before now we have been carried away by rumours of cancellation to back door recruitment, but alas the positive end has come. We should not only capitalize on negative intentions of the society where injustice are been perpetrated, but we should also comment on positive gestures when practiced. It is on this premise that I write this piece. I want to strongly suggest that the contributed money for publication should be utilized to publicize the good thing NNPC has done to serve as an encouragement for other government institutions. If our leaders can have a change of mind, then lets support morally to encourage it as youths. Some people may not like this idea, but I bet you this will create positive awareness and more hope in the system we operate in Nigeria and create better chance for others on merit. @Bebrief: Pls reframe the initial write up for publication to reflect on the idea postulated here. This should be done on behalf of NNPC online hopefuls. Any suggestion in this regard is welcomed.
Hello House, anyone know the better in terms of condition of service between NCC and NNPC. I need to make a difficult decision here. Your objective suggestions are welcome please.

My own case is aving to choose between NNPC and a full schlarship 4 my MSc. NNPC wants me to resume by 8th Aug...d Scholarship body expects me to travel by Sept. Visa is already being processed. Also, ders no job promise by my sponsor after my MSc.

Depends on you. If you are an engineer, there are better training prospects with Schluberger. NNPC will train you during the FSTP but whether you will practice what you are thought is somethingelse. Schlum too can be very stressful. Some people beg for training in NNPC while some are trianed every now and then. Pray about it and God will tell you what to do. Sometimes I have regrets for joining NNPC but I have learnt to thank God. I am not where I should be but God has been faithful. I am looking to leave soon-if God permits but there are colleagues of mine who are doing very well.Quote:

@Depacalon and @flexy17, i feel ur pain. It is not easy making such tough decisions. U need to pray for divine direction. Point of observation, i realized you didn't mention what staff grades u guys were employed into. You also need to take into consideration the rationale behind your postgraduate application. I must be honest with you, there are fewer jobs out there particularly in the UK (as at now) but trust me since u're being sponsored u wld have little or no regrets after your program. Just believe GOD for a miracle before the end of your prog and u wld get it. Let me share my experience. I was already working in an oil and gas coy before i applied for my postgraduate program. This simply means my urge to further my education outweighed the joy and training facilities i got on the job. I proceeded on a scholarship for my program and i am back in the country for a good job but believe me, i do not have any regrets @ all. Am totally believing GOD for open doors and i know he wld do it just as HE has been doing it before.Quote:

it does not matter except it is stated in the job advert. About NYSC, I don't know. in any case it is just 1 year so it may not matter much. for example if you have 10yrs experience and 1 year NYSC to make it 11, chances are that you will be on ss3 rather than ss2. You will need 3 full years to be considered for the next level but if you are lucky then you just might be taken on a higher level.Quote:
