Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
The faith never dies BUT is there any clues as to what will happen to the remaining slots?
Well...the names better come out fast because theres a lot of reason to petition nddc for some of the names published...details will be revealed soon.

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Yesterday in the Vanguard, 130 scholars... Today in the Guardian... 131 scholars... Is this the will of God? Some of us risked our lives, time, means of livelihood to meet that interview set under a ridiculously short notice. We went to hell and back to meet all the requirements. Waited patiently for over a month... Only to get this!
Personally, when this dragged on longer than the promised one week, I knew it had become shady and decided to move on with my life. For those of you who applied, were interviewed and made it, good luck! For those who did not apply and were not interviewed but have used one form of connection or the other to deprive deserving scholars, good luck to you too. But for all the pastors in the house, the fact that you were successful shouldn't get you deluded. God washed His hands off this process a long time ago! Leave Him out of this fiasco. Or can someone please tell me where the balance of over 60 scholars are??? It's high time we told ourselves the truth. Favouritism, tribalism, connections... These are the reasons mediocrity remains enthroned in this nation and why we remain so backward and undeveloped. Please those who used connections to get the scholarship, pray that those connections are still around when you return so that they can give you jobs because a radical wind is blowing in this country and all scums of the earth will be blown away with it!

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Good luck to those who have made the short-list.
I do not undermine the names published but all I know is that after being cheated by ptdf and commonwealth, I will personally state the obvious and reveal the irregularities within the nddc list.
I have 6 strong points on the anomaly regarding the list published for my state and intend to personally follow it up to any level. Its high time the people in charge realise that not all the individuals in the current 'Generation Y' wish to remain fooled by their open and foolish acts of cheap corruption.
With or without any encouragement from this forum I have made up my mind to become that 'enemy of state' and expose the clear show of mediocrity shown by nddc state representatives.
God bless us all!!!

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@all scholars
this victory is for all and not just the 130 or 131 already advertised names or remaining names
the truth is that 80% of the people on that list cannot utilize the scholarship till september 2011 so if your name is not yet there you have not lost anything because the process for the NDDC 2011 scholarships will soon commence and it will be completed far far before september 2011, so why the worries I will advise you to restrategize, get prepared (get admission in a good school and a strategic course), get your school to send your new offer letter, network more (naijahotjob especially) and pray. NDDC has said they will double the number for 2011 and this blog will still be alive so that from the lessons learnt from this maiden edition we willl give members of this blog valuable tips.
...dont be bothered, dont feel bad, dont worry...GOD makes everything beautiful in HIS time...Ecclesiastes 3:11...
...we all have one time or the other experienced heartfelt disappointments in our lives...
...but I tell you boldly and it is written...all things happeneth for good for those who love GOD...Romans 8:28...
...James 1:2-4 even enjoins us to rejoice when we go thru hard times...
@all scholars lets thankGOD we are alive...many people have died will they be talking about scholarship in the grave...
...as it is written...Job lost all he had; wealth, health and family...in that condition he still blessed the name of the LORD and declared thus...Naked I came out from my mothers womb, naked will I return the LORD gave the LORD has taken blessed be the name of the LORD...Job 1:21...I love this bible verse...
we all know the end of Job...GOD blessesd the latter end of Job more than his beginning...Job 42:10...
if Job that lost all could bless the name of the LORD: brothers, sisters and @all scholars please lets bless GOD in what ever situation...
...in the same vein...as it is written...a door GOD has closed no man can open and a door HE has open no man can close...Revelation 3:8...i.e. No man can block your blessings...
NDDC, AGIP, MOBIL amongst other scholarships is not the end or begining of the world...
...instead as it is written...in the beginning was the word, and the word was with GOD and the word was GOD...John1:1...GOD is the ALPHA and OMEGA...BEGINNING AND END...HE is all we need...
@all scholars
Chief Dumo Lulu briggs (owner of MONU POLO) gives scholarships every year to indigent students, he is an ordinary man like us...
Jim Ovia gives foreign postgraduate scholarships to first class graduates from Agbor every year, he is an ordinay man like us...
our collective desire, dream and prayer should be that GOD should entrust us enough to enlarge our coast and bless us indeed so that we can some day also give scholarships to indigent students...
90% of the worlds billionaires do not have MSc's or PhD's so lets take stock of the LORD'S goodness in our lives and bless HIS HOLY name...
@all scholars Prince et al is not a pastor though will love to be one someday GOD willing...Prince et al has only discovered the Power in the will of GOD, the Power in the word of GOD and the Pattern of GOD'S wonders...in amazement and love has Prince et al decided to share same with his brothers and sisters on this blog...this blog

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@prince et al, GOD bless u real good. Your words of encouragement has been of great value. Being following this post fervently and i really admire ur ur "dangerous faith". I pray i get to that level someday. God willing.
@all scholars who truely merited congratulation.
@peacesofpeace, i wish u the best. but i'd like to ask u a question. I hope u admonish the fact that so many qualified guys applied for the scholarship and were not called for the interview(so many 2:1 guys like myself). What wld u suggest they do.
@can anyone respond to my earlier post???

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@olumytee4real,
Regardless of the fact that qualified people like yourself were not invited to the interviews, does that give any politician or state nddc commissioner the right to flood the list with people from his LGA/senatorial district who were never even aware of the scholarships one week after the interviews?
And why would all the names come from one state's Senatorial district (out of 3); the most already developed, less populated and less academically active Senatorial district of a state for that matter...and is it a coincidence that all the names come from the same place as the state nddc commissioner?
What then would you say about the fact that only one phD candidate was in attendance at the interviews but in the published list the single name for a phd was not the name in attendance at the interviews...
The Human Rights commission (amongst other organisations) have demanded a copy of the petition because this is one of those simple and clear cases of fraud where the perpetrators would wish was never exposed because the facts and proofs are all there for everyone to see. As a matter of fact, the nddc should prove that the fraudulent names are more qualified than the candidates in attendance then we might as well drop the allegations and believe that they are better qualified to be sponsored over those 'less qualified' ones who were invited to the interviews.
It is high time we announced our entry into the scenes and corners of power without an introduction because no one will assume we are good enough to be considered without proving it.
This will send a direct message that the foolish generations have become wise and wish to have a say in whatever directly affects their lives and well-being because no one gives you power unless you take it or earn it. The time to raise those considered to be 'enemies of state' is NOW!!!
God bless us all!

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@all scholars...hope we all had a nice weekend and great time in the congregation of GOD'S people yesterday
@olumytee4real thanks for your kind words...to the MOST HIGH GOD alone be all the glory, honour, praise and adoration...
@there are two things that can grow our faith...
1. The word of GOD...
as it is written...So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD...Romans 10:17...
2. Tribulations (pains, rejections & disappoinments)...
as it is written...And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience: And patience experience: and experience: and experience, hope (pls take note of hope) : And hope maketh not ashamed: because the love of GOD is shed abroad in our hearts by the HOLY SPIRIT which is given unto us...Romans 5:3-5...
in view of the foregoing there is a need to define faith...
As it is written...Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...Hebrew 11:1...
lets now analyse the definition of faith above...
1. "Now faith is"...faith is allways in the present, not in the past (yesterday), not in the future (tomorrow)...faith is now...believing now...
2. "The substance of things hoped for"...faith is tangible (substance) and not intangible in hope...lets explain this part with Hannah's story in 1Samuel 1&2...Hannah was barren and she was allways crying and lamentng...but it got to a point she now made a vow to GOD in 1Samuel 1:11 that she would give back her child to GOD if HE remembers her and blesses her with a child...can i ask you a question at this point. How can a barren woman give back to GOD what she does not have? That is the faith...vowing to give back to GOD the substance (child) of what she hoped for is the demostration of faith...she had not gotten the child physically but she believed GOD can and has alreading given her a child (the substance)...that is faith and this attitude pleases GOD...as it is written...But without faith it is impossbl to please GOD...Hebrews 11:6 (read the whole verse)...so whenever we demostrate faith by believing that GOD is able to give us that which we long or hope for, GOD then even does...exceeding abundantly beyond what we think or ask...Ephesians 3:20...
Hannah (a barren) gave birth to many other children because she had faith...so you in any condition once you believe that GOD can and has and you demostrate by praising or acting that it is already done, at that point it is done...
3. "The evidence of things not seen"...this evidence is the word of GOD...there is a word from GOD for all situations...for barrens Isaiah 54:1 says sing on barren for more are the children of the desolate (barren) woman...(read Isaiah 54:1-4 to understand better)...let me reveal one secret to you, all barrens in the bible gave birth to great men (Hannah gave birth to Samuel, Sarah gave birth to Isaac, Rebakkah gave birth to Jacob)...so if your blessings delay know that it is surely bigger and better than you thought or asked...read Ephesians 3:20...
Hannah asked GOD for a child, GOD gave her children and her first fruit/child was a great prophet (Samuel), he was the one GOD sent to annoint David as king...

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@prince et al. I knw nobody is probably gonna tel u dis,but u bore me wit ur sermons.i share u'r faith but i believe there's a time n place 4 everytin. people come to dis forum to get useful info abt stuff, all they get is pages n pages of your sermons.while freedom of expression stil exists, u must consider dat u can't shove u'r religion down people's throat.several people here ain't christians n u could b keeping them very uncomfortable.i invite people to dis forum only to hv dem back out bcos they think it's just 4 christians.i really tink there's a need for self control here, unless u want to b seen as d type who burns koran.if u really want to b useful try getting info of d subject matter n posting it here.i guess dat's wat blogs r really about.

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Guys...lets not use this forum to fight over nothing, else your accounts would be suspended or all your posts will be deleted immediately they're posted...PLEASE!!!
Though a strong believer of the Christian faith myself I've been tempted several times to ask that the preaching be done minimally cos it takes up too much space but I believe we all have our rights to express ourselves...
I WILL INSIST AGAIN THAT THIS FIGHT ENDS HERE, NOW AND IMMEDIATELY FOR WE'D RATHER HAVE ACCOUNTS SUSPENDED THAN START A RELIGIOUS ARGUMENT COS NONE OF US WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE END OF ANY RELIGIOUS CRISIS WHICH STARTS THIS LITTLE.
THANK YOU!!!

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@ cutiesky, there is something called "freedom of religion" and "freedom of expression". You have NO right to complain about what Prince et al does. And if you choose to profess your own faith, no one has the right to stop you. It is a public forum. We are all from different backgrounds with different beliefs. Like Peaceofpeace said, let it end there. The thread was created for NDDC Scholarship updates and I don't think anyone professing his faith or belief in a deity as concerns the topic is wrong. Let the love and respect continue. If you are not comfortable with anything, simply ignore it.

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
testimonies@prince et al...NDDC has made me know the value of a high court judge...but much more NDDC has made me acknowledge and reacknowledge the indispensability of the MOST HIGH GOD in my (our) life (lives)...as it is written...
...If it had not been the LORD who was on our (my) side, when men (challenges) rose up against us (me)...Psalms 124:2...
after signing for my (our) scholarship award letter(s), we were asked to get either a senator, house of rep member or high court judge to sign as a guarantor (vouch that we are of good conduct and would return to Nigeria after our studies)...
I got back to my state to look for a high court judge to sign mine...I met a brick wall...all the Judges I met said they could not sign because they didnt know me...this was after I had spent hours waiting for the judges to be through with the cases in their courts for the day...
...but the word of GOD cannot fail...as it is written...
The heart of a King (including Judges) is in the hands of GOD and like the rivers of water HE turneth it to any direction that HE wants...Proverbs 21:1...
at the end a Judge who initially refused to sign my acceptance letter cheerfully, happily and joyfully signed my letter...as it is written...This is the LORD'S doing and it is marvellous in our (my) eyes...Psalms 118:23...
reflections@prince et al...I entered a court for the first time in my life today...and I had cause to thank GOD...because as it is often said "different strokes for different folks"...I went to the court to sign my foreign postgraduate scholarship guarantors form (a thing of joy and pride) but I saw young (untapped) talents in handcuff's who were in the court for either arm robbery or murder (a thing of pain and shame)...I immediately started thanking GOD for my life oh...and remembered that...it is written...
I am what I am by the grace...1Corinthians 15:10...
@all scholars, as I talk to you now some people are still running around looking for a guarantor and if they dont get it signed before the dead line (NDDC gave a dead line to sign and return the acceptance letters) they will loose their scholarships...serious serious...NDDC is serious
@all scholars, candid advise...for those that know (by faith) that their names are on the new list please start networking now on how to get a guarantor oh oh....(by faith-Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen...Hebrews 11:1...
@jprince, the number on the new list now is shaky/fluid because those that cannot get their acceptance letters signed before the deadine wiil have their scholarships cancelled...serious serious...

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@all scholars...

They gave room for awardees to change their schools to schools that have January start date...
i hope you find this helpful...

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
The LORD truly reigns forever...Exodus 15:18...
superbrain@all scholars...
NDDC wants to pay directly to the schools; for the MSc's one installment and for PhD's in three equal trenches yearly...
The maintenance allowance is subject to availability of funds, the balance after a total of your tuition and accomodation have been paid or deducted. They plan to divide it, into two equal halves and give us one half per semester.
If you have paid a deposit, your school can only make a refund after our spoil (money) hits their account. The normal process is for the school to return your deposit through the same channel (account) it was sent from Nigeria. If you have an outstanding payment soon just scan you scholarship award letter to you school.
I hope you find this helpful
-
Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Its obvious most scholars will have to augment these funds cos some schools' tuition will engulf the entire $30,000 (N4.5m).
What then happens if one's tuition eats up about N4m, do they expect that N500k will be enough for accommodation and maintenance for 15 months of one's studies and convoc?
They must have a way to balance it up.
-
Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@ Peacesofpeace, the amount would definitely not be sufficient. But if that's what they're offering then in no way are they obliged to augment for the balance. They never said it was a full scholarship. Moreover, most of the awardees have already resumed school and had to pay tuition before doing so, hence augmenting for the balance shouldn't be a problem. I think they have done well, considering the many other programs and projects they're currently working on.
Congrats once again to all the scholars.
-
Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@Superbrain, u've spoken so well.
@house, when do they intend making the payments. Are they paying masters students fees once or installments. Are do you get ur maintenance allowance??? IS there any maintenance allowance up-front?? Need urgent reply plssssssssssss.

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Congrats to all NDDC scholars. Wish you all the best. Heard the advert will soon be out for that of next year. Wonder what criteria were used to screen people, cuz some of us had all requirements. God help us.
-
Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
Just note that pple who had unique courses were considered ahead of too many pple opted for common courses like petroleum engineering.a lot of 1st class and 2.1 were not even called for interview for this simple reason.NDDC gave pple that cut across diversified disciplines.eg welding engr which is rare.Due to d wide spread knowledge so many will apply next year so an aptitude test will be likely b4 interview.
I also want to encourage those who do not have connection that it is possible to get d scholarship in d mist of d high powerd politics that go on. D director himself told us that he wanted poor pple who never dreamt of going abroad to do so.My brothers and sisters as I type this it had become a reality.

Re: NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship
@all scholars...tips for success in the NDDC foreign postgraduate scholarship 2011:
1. Implicit faith in the word of GOD...(For with GOD nothing shall be impossible...Luke 1:37)...
2. Uniqueness of course
3. Proximity (alignment) of course to NDDC'S mandate
4. Passion and broad knowledge of course subject area (very useful at the interview stage)
5. Catchy University, different schools are synonymous with particular courses .e.g. Robert Gordon is synonymous is Oil and Gas Engineering, Harvard is synonymous with MBA and Harriot Watts is synonymous with Petroleum Engineering, so ensure that the University you choose is renowned for your course
6. Return on Investment (ROI) on your course .i.e. practical relevance (benefits) of your course to addressing the peculiar challenges of the Niger Delta region
7. Your personality (brand essence), the interview panel will have limited time to access you hence ensure something distinguishes you from others
...For the maiden (2010) NDDC foreign postgraduate scholarships, I was expecting a lot of slots to go to construction and structural engineering candidates (applicants) but this was not the case...
In conclusion lets consider the immutable word of the LORD...as it is written...
...I returned and saw under the sun that, the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill but time and chance happeneth to them all...Eccleciastes 9:11...
The verse above means that we do not need to labour or struggle to attain our desired goals (like NDDC scholarship award) but instead we need to be calculative, tactical and strategic...In other words we cannot attain any thing substantiate (extraordinary) in life except we conform to GOD'S thoughts, plans and promises for our lives by allowing HIM position us in the right place at the right time and prepare us (most times through tribulations see Romans 5:3) to optimally leverage (with our talents) on great (unforeseen) oppourtunities that HE constantly brings our way....e.g....Jonathan is President today not because he is the strongest, brightest or most connected Nigerian but because GOD who knew him from the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) positioned him in the right place at the right time and prepared him by allowing him grow from Deputy Governor to Governor to Vice President then now to President....Also if Obama wasn't in the US (right place) in the 21st century (right time) he would never have become the first black President of the US...Bill Gates is not the brightest person on earth but he is commonly mentioned as the richest man on earth...why?...
...Time and Chance happeneth to them all...he was in the right place (US, with a large population of 340million people who are addictively IT dependent and have high purchasing powers) at the right time (IT revolution) and he was prepared (had refined his talents) to optimally leverage on the endless opportunities that came with the IT revolution...
Biblically, Solomon wasn't David's eldest son but with "Time and Chance" (strategy) he successfully succeeded his father as king...see 1Kings 1:11-40...
I wish all naijahotjob 2011 NDDC foreign postgraduate scholarship applicants GOD'S favour and wisdom...

@ prince et al, thanks for your words of faith and encouragement.....pls, want to ask if a 2nd list is going to be published out for sure and when? wat would u advice those that are still bliving GOD that their names will be in the 2nd list...
