JOB SUMMARY
Responsible ensuring optimal availability and performance of the unit by developing all maintenance schedules for the unit, planning and scheduling resources required for execution and ensuring proper execution of all planned and corrective maintenance work.
QUALIFICATION
· Bachelors Degree (B.Eng) or Higher National Higher Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering from reputable tertiary institution
· At least 5 years maintenance experience including supervision preferably in bottling industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Developed preventive annual, quarterly, weekly and daily maintenance plans which includes preventive Maintenance, corrective maintenance, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance
· Plan maintenance stoppages agreed with production planner (co-ordinate maintenance down time with production times)
· Ensure job cards issued to specific technicians for specific times to conduct planned maintenance activities as per schedule.
· Ensure Work that allocated matches the skills levels of the technicians to whom it is allocated.
· Ensure that work load allocated to each technician (hours) within specification
· Supervise overtime or outside contractors authorized by section engineer
· Ensure that all work completed is captured on a job card (planned & breakdown)
· Arranged resources (eg spares, tools and materials)
· Ensure Stores informed of spares, tools and materials required ahead of time
· Ensure all required spares, tools and materials are available to technician in order to carry out work on job cards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Control maintenance activities
· Carry out Periodic checks conducted on all maintenance activities
· Ensure Standard engineering practices developed, documented & implemented.
· Carry out root cause analyses carried out on breakdowns.
· Take corrective action taken where work is not conducted according to plan.
· Provide coaching to technicians where necessary.
· Ensure job cards checked for completion, signed off & captured on SAP.
· Carry out all maintenance activities in the unit supported (including assisting & allocating resources for breakdown activities to ensure quality workmanship on all maintenance work)
· Develop Weekly and monthly maintenance KPI reports generated, analyzed and corrective action taken.
· Recommended maintenance mix and schedule improvements.
· Identify under/ over or inappropriate maintenance activities.
· Make recommendations to asset care specialist to improve maintenance mix.
· Review maintenance schedules periodically.
· Ensure all maintenance KPI’s reviewed and corrective action taken where necessary.
· Conduct People Plan discussions with all direct reports in January each year (outputs, quality requirements, objectives & development plans agreed).
· Coaching on technical skills & standard engineering practices provided on the job where necessary.
· Perform capability gap analyses to determine both current and future development needs for all engineering staff.
· Conduct formal development initiatives in partnership with HR.
