Department: Projects and Engineering

Job Title: HSE/Methods Engineer.

Business Objective: To develop and maintain a reliable Health, Safety and Environment management system for the organization.

Core Working Relationships: Project Manager, Workshop supervisor, logistics supervisor, Welders, HR & Admin.

ACCOUNTABILITIES(RESPONSIBILITIES)

·Implement and maintain a quality system certified to ISO 9001 Standard.
· Implement and improve the company’s health, safety and environment management system and ensure compliance company-wide.
· Conduct HSE Audits and inspections.
· Conduct HSE presentations and training to employees as required.
· Responsible for the implementation of quality control procedures and plans for providing more efficient work.
· Assist in developing and maintaining quality standards that apply to wok and ensuring proper implementation.
· Review and approve inspections, test plans and quality control plans from contractors (where applicable).
· Identify, analyze and resolve problems and issues with quality assurance and control for the organization.
· Identify and recommend requisite Safety equipment for the company.
· Develop and ensure the implementation of safe work procedures.
· Assist with tender documentation relating to safety and quality procedures and work execution planning.


Requirements
·A good first degree or HND in mechanical engineering from a reputable institution
·Possess strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and qualified as an internal auditor.
·Minimum of 1 year experience in similar role.
·Reasonable knowledge of relevant HSE principles.
·Good communication and interpersonal skills.
·Very good knowledge of the use of MS OFFICE suite(especially excellent writing skills).
·Ability to work with minimal supervision.
·Must be proactive(ability to think and take initiative.
·Ability to work under pressure.
·Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously along with other team members.
