HOUSE PLS I NEED YOUR ADVICE, GT IN AN FMCG COY OR GA IN A FED UNIVERSITY?

I have completed my medicals for a Graduate Trainee position in one of the FMCG companies but I have just been called that I have been offered a Graduate Assistant appointment in a federal University in the South-Southern region of Nigeria.
Please I need your advice on which appointment to accept because I am confused presently. Thanks NHJ. Happy Christmas.

bros if i were u ill grab the Graduate Assistant job fast.no other job like lecturing or government jobs.they offer better opportunities and career advancement.in short that is free money you are getting because the job is not that demanding.

if u really want an academic career path, go for GA,not only is their security bt also u manage ur tym almost lik some1 who is self-employd.

Truly, the decision lies on what you really want but I want you to know that you should always look at the long-term effect of your final decision. If I were you,I'll go for the GA job because you have enough time for yourself for virtually anything including applying for another highly secured job.

Please, which of the Universities did you get the job?

Kai!!! Take the lecturing job shap shap. I had an offer like dat earlier this year but didnt take it because the offer was somewhat binding.... I'am seriously regretting now
Mine was for a state university...very good pay, plenty of free time... blah bla bla. I was stupid for nof not taking it.

...weigh ur options- the GA job is preferable, pensionable, stress free (except 4 wen u start, wen dem senior lects hammer u with scripts 2 mark, lectures 2 handle..lol..doesn;t mata)...bt as u chose d GA job, put it at the back up of mind to try an climb d academic ladder as fast as possible, b/cos d money n respect is up dia at stages > Phd, might be challenging but pays in the long run, u'll ve time to set up mini biz which u could manage effectively...
...dis is also good considering d fact dat dia has been recent increment in pay 4 lecturers...but it pays beta at the top of d career ladder, so brace up 4 it and get 2 dat top...cheers

@ poster: congratulations on both job offers. I wud hav been in ur shoes myself but i know wat i wanted for myself. I was given an offer to take up a lecturing job in my alma mater on graduation. i declined d offer to seek for a job in d corporate world.I took dis decision bcos i know mysef...i'm not cut out for dat lecturing thing. even if i do it wont get satisfaction from d job.Fortunately i got a job in wit in d fmcg which i accepted and i know will give me satisfaction as well as better financial reward.So my advice to u is to know wat u want and go for it.

@ posta, i undastand ur situatn,in my own case, i just got my m.sc b4 i got an offer 2 lecture and anoda from an oil coy. I chose d oil coy bcos in 8 yrs time afta i have gained all d experience in d field, i can still change 2 lecturing wt my m.sc, so i am balanced. In ur case, if u go 4 d GA post, d difference btw u and d students will be dat u read d book b4 dem, dats one of d reasons our certificates are no longa valued abroad. If u choose d GT post, u may not b chanced 2 run a full time m.sc program, even part time may be stressful. In actual fact, it will be easier to switch afta 6 yrs from d fmcg job 2 lecturing than vice versa bcos then u 'l b out of range in terms of age and experienc 4 any industry job except as a consultant since u are a lecturer. Honestly, d ball lies in ur court, ow u lay ur bed 'l determine ow u 'l lie on it in 10 yrs time. Decide wisely. All d best
