Guy, run for your life. It's most likely a scam. I personally believe no real employer will tell you to pay before offering employment. You may also ask that your friend to help you get the job first and you say later.

He served with you ... or he told you he served with you. My guy wake up, this wont be the last time you will get those phone calls. How can you even think of sending money to someone you have never seen.

It is Scam, I once got that same call late last year. someone called me and said she served with me in Lagos and then was working in Agip.
The funy stuff there was that she claimed to be a very good friend of mine. But I couldn't place such a friend without Identity.
Just ignore my dear friend.

BIG scam AGIP will NEVER ASK YOU for penny, what so ever for any thing. they rather give to you for honoring their IV if they deem it fit to invite you so RUN. i also got a call from such group saying he served with me in delta and that he is with shell and want to link me up with shell contract and i told him shell does not work like that not in nigeria as far as i know.
