i got a mail that i have been shortlisted to attend the Careers in GE Nigeria Event, Lagos 2010.
Does anyone have ideas of what it entails,is this their recruitment process.
Answers needed as soon as possible.

@UC Neky -ITs a Jobfair and its in lagos, its strictly by invite most times but maybe if you getlucky they might let u in. They will be some form of instant recruitment for some positions and some units will just take your cv. all d bestxx

Are there going to be interviews there? Are these contract or Permanent positions? What are their pay like?

@ Golden777 - They will be conducting some interviews there, for which positions i do not know but certainly they will be interviewing. I also do not knw whether contract or permanent, but GE is a good place to work.

The concern now is what and how will the interview go, will it be oral. Wat will be the area of concentration. I know it is a good place.

From d tone of the advert and the mail they sent, I think they will be conducting some interviews after/during the event (... just my thoughts oooo)

it does not matter where you stay or live, all are invited from far and wide and the event is in Lagos, When is ur various date for invitation, my is on tuesday, I guess it will be onsite interview. reply

GE Career event has come and gone, it was held in Eko Hotels lagos, it was an awareness event and profile pooling of their liked portfolios, a complete awareness programme of the product and services of what they offer and the recruitment process which is nothing different from other recruitment processes. The good thing is you can have your interview on any type from anywhere in the world, telephone call at your convenience.
GE is an old good company expecially in the developed world that have existed silently in Nigeria, but they are elephantising now in fast developing Nigeria and african market. There was no interview but there was a forum for u to ask any good questions and wayforward. In all it was good, but everyone that went still have to pass through same process of recruiting.

well i think its basic background on compressors and engineering .

Basically,u need 2 to d operation,maintenance and installation of compressor.above all,ready more on company history,his people,ecoimagination,their business segmt.infact,go to their home page and lay ur hand on any pages u can,dat 4 interview.for test,i think it's normal test like shl thank u
