Experienced Wireline/Barge Operations Engineers in an Oil Producing Company

We are an independent geosciences and engineering consultancy company operating upstream oil and gas industry. Our Client, a major player in the upstream sector of oil and gas Industry in Nigeria is currently seeking experience Wireline/Barge Operations Engineers. This is a senior level position

Key responsibility
As a wireline/barge operations engineer, you will;

• Supervise any downhole operations carried out on the field; may assist the Senior Supervisor to coordinate those operations at field level on all temporary basis.
• Supervise main wireline operations carried out by contractor teams including:
  - Changing and maintaining sub-surface safety valves to ensure these are operating effectively.
  - Running bottom holes pressure recorders for bottom hole closed pressure (BHCIP) and pressure build up (PBU), and passing this information to the asset team.
  - Preparing wells to bring back to producible status following production logging, stimulations, workovers/drillings, corrosion monitoring programmes, ensuring operational effectiveness.
  - Collect bottom holes samples.
  - Running plugs or opening sliding sleeves.
  - Pressure gradient and temperature surveys.
  - Fishing and other activities.
• Prepare schedules for daily, weekly and monthly work pragrammes of crews and supervise contractors in the quality and timeliness of their performance
• Ensure that downhole operations are conducted at a minimum consistent with safety and overall efficiency and in accordance with standard wireline instructions.
• Prepare all materials and equipment needed for down-hole operations, including specifying special tools required.
• Check the effectiveness of all equipment in use, test new equipment where it is considered this may be suitable, and ensure all necessary equipment and spare parts re requisitioned.
• Prepares technical reports on down hole activities undertaken and ensure good housekeeping in all work areas under his supervision.

Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess at least 7 to 12 years experience in wireline/downhole/barge operations. Experience to include at least 2 years in a supervisory position and 3 years in offshore/swamp operations. Must have a Degree level qualifications in Petroleum/ Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
