Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HON. MINISTER OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES, ARCH. (MRS.) DIEZIANI ALLISON MADUEKE BY THE 2011 BATCH OF INTERVIEWEES FOR JOBS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES (DPR). The Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR) sometime in March 2010 advertised for various positions and conducted two different tests on 6th June and 4th Dec 2010 through a recruitment agency ERA Professional Services. Successful candidates were invited for final interviews at Lagos resource centre, No.9 Anifowoshe Street, Off Kofo Abayomi between April and May 2011 while the list of selected candidates was approved in July 2011 by the Federal Character Commission (FCC). Hon. Minister, the Budget as your respectable self may be aware, has since been approved for the Department, but here we are still waiting for our deserved letters in the third quarter of the 2012 fiscal year. Hon. Minister, we sat for the tests and were interviewed several months before the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) cadre that has finally received their letters three weeks ago through the intervention of your good office and will be resuming work in August this year, while our letters are still pending. We are appealing to the Minister and management of the DPR to lend a listening ear to our plea and respond by concluding this long-running recruitment process and release offer letters to successful candidates. We are well aware of the challenges of your important office, its dynamism and the turbulence that has dogged your sincere and seminal efforts to uplift the oil and gas sector. We humbly pledge our commitment to give our best to support your efforts to strengthen the sector, as we hope to be absorbed soon by the DPR, with your kind intervention. GOD BLESS YOU!GOD BLESS DPR!GOD BLESS NIGERIAN GRADUATES!GOD BLESSTHE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!Signed2011 DPR HOPEFULS (ONLINE FORUM)NB: We have sought the advise of many (including none hopefuls, particularly journalists) and they have advised that we skip reminding her or making reference to past statements credited to both the Minister and the DPR Director during the budget defence as a means to get her to do what we want. As I also mentioned on this forum before, those details on budget may not be necessary in this 'era of probity' and we would be placing her in a tight corner. We might not need to be too forensic in placing her on the spot. I would advise we leave this letter as simple and straight to the point as it is pls. Thanks for all your comments. May God crown all our efforts with success in this MONTH OF NEW BEGINNINGS! Amen.

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown: Letters MUST b released weather u want it or not as i sd b4. Its just d restructurin takin time.Sinc d house hs agreed on writing a leta in d dailies.fine! Bt u can as wel writ d letter directly to her since u 'personally' wana play cool wit her.But u r indirectly shootin urself by tellin her a list was approved July 2011. Who gav u dat infor?? DPR or FCC ?? Morso u cant tell ur employer dat a list ws ready on a date wen dey hvnt made it official.Or r u holding d list??(its an 'A-exibit').U r shootin ur self n dat may lead to cancellation of dat list(God forbid). It's mangmt confidentiality.(Its not official). As i said earlier d list of abt 400 plus is on her table waitin for her approval,bt is still unofficial til its made public. And im suspectin d PIB 'might' delay dis cos if letas r givn out nw whr wil u resum work. DPR,UPI or DPRA?(just sayin). As sm1 sd if u 'must' shoot, shoot well. The budget defence is the 'strongest' point to hold on cos d lawmakers n d world were aware of dat.God bless.

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@lawmaker, am surprised that your comment is only coming now after about a week of posting a draft letter to the MPR. My guess is that you are probably working directly under her to have seen a list of 400 on her table. I am not here to trade words wit you cause I know that is what most of us are known for without any action. And when anyone tries to do anything, you hear all sorts of negative comments from people who claim to have the best info. You suspect PIB might be a reason for the delay, and you ask where they will resume. Does dpr cease to exist? Let me remind you that a proposal has just been made and adopted by the FG, until it is deliberated upon by the National Assembly, it will not become law and implementation will come several months after it is signed by the President. So you should be talking of next year for implementation, until then, the DPR will exist as it still exist now. Beside, the nnpc is a part of the reform/PIB and I wonder where the new recruits are resuming on Monday. Also, the Minister may have forgotten that nnpc are a part of the PIB hence the signing/approval of their letters. Pls go ahead and speak english but that is not what we need now. What we want to do is to raise enough money for a full page or at least a half page advertorial and we would appreciate your comments on how we can do that or if you have a link/contact with a publisher of the major newspapers to assist us do the publication with the little money we have now pls. Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@lawmaker, your information is commendable, but I disagree hesitating on forwarding the open letter to the national dailies. We ll appreciate if don't stop supply of info to the forum @Debrown, I believe your opinion over the contents of the open letter is atoning and ready for publishing. You are appreciated too.

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown, I think mentioning of FCC list here is improper, cos it hasnt bn made official. One of our strongest point to hold on to is bringing to her awareness that every Nigerian knows that money has bn approved for the completion of the pending DPR recruitment process. If this is done she will release the letters, cos she will nt want the oppositions to use it against her immediately. I am aware that the letter is meant to be an appeal letter, but its nt bad if it contain abit of indirect pressure element.Lord God of Isreal will surely see us through!

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@Debrown: I cant com here 2post witout new developmts.Im jst here 2giv som imputs bt if u or d house dnt want.I wil stop.Sinc d house hs decided 2Publish.FINE!.D AIM is a 'quick' response frm her.Gly007 made d strongest point which is d burget defence.Dt shud b in d content of d letter as d burget defence heat is on.(d best opportunity to file).Im a laywer n knw beta legally.(bt do wateva u like).NNPC wil b unbundled(if PIB is passed) n most of d new recruits will b goin 2training sch wen dey resume nex wk.DPR's case is very diff due to d regulatory nature.God 4bid bt FG can still decide 2send latters nex yr.who knws? Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@Roz, there is nothing improper mentioning the FCC in this letter.@debrown, is there any modality on how to raise the money for the publication cos there is no time talking too much on this. The letter you wrote is simple and portrays our minds.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown, let us have the money update so that we will know the financial status and continue with the contribution by Monday morning.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown, i thought of that quotation on budget defence,it is not an offence since it happened, when budget is the talk of the town, and include since the presnt administration is keen on job creation on mr. President trnsformation agenda,
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown, I personally appreciate d good and selfless job u are doing, jst kp it up.However, to help drive our plea to the hon. minister home let the next sentence after FCC read thus " Hon. Minister, the budget as your respectable self is aware, has since been approved for the completion of the pending DPR recruitment, but here we are still waiting for the release of offer letters to the successful ones amongst us in the third quarter of 2012 fiscal year"With this it will be clear to her that the interviewees are all waiting, irrespective of wether some have seen their name on FCC list or not, to see that the offer letters are released soonest.

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@All, below is an update of the proposed open letter. I hope this has addressed most (if not all) of the issues/concerns raised. Let is now focus on raising the money for a full page or half page publication or if you have the right contacts, kindly assist us to achieve this. You may wish to go back the previous pages for the account details and update. We have about N106,500 or so currently with @bebrief.AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HON. MINISTER OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES, ARCH. (MRS.) DIEZIANI ALLISON MADUEKE BY THE 2011 BATCH OF INTERVIEWEES FOR JOBS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES (DPR). The Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR) sometime in March 2010 advertised for various positions and conducted two different tests on 12th June and 4th Dec 2010 through a recruitment agency ERA Professional Services. You may recall the budget breakdown of the department given by yourself before the National Assembly Joint Committees on Gas and Petroleum Resources (Upstream and Downstream) budget defence on Thursday 2nd February 2012 where you and the DPR Director informed the committee that the department would employ more staff in 2012. 'We are expecting to employ 250 workers in another two weeks,' the DPR Director said. You also mentioned that a 'slight increase in DPR's recurrent budget represents provisions for anticipated recruitment of new staff to improve the overall effectiveness of the department'. Hon. Minister, we sat for the tests and were interviewed several months before the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) cadre that has finally received their letters three weeks ago through the intervention of your good office and will be resuming work in August this year, while our letters are still pending. The successful conclusion of this process or otherwise will call to question the genuineness of Mr. President’s transformation agenda, which most of the DPR hopefuls bought into. We are therefore, appealing to the Minister and management of the DPR to lend a listening ear to our plea and respond by concluding this long-running recruitment process and release offer letters to successful candidates. Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@lawmaker, kindly summerise this letter to the length and number of words you think it should be in order to avoid these assignment you have given me to read through peoples posts. I have tried to take every single comment on board and I don't have the energy for all these further adjustments. The dpr budget was not meant for only recruitment and the approval was not based on the on going recruitment. I have included the budget defence you and others were clamouring for and have even quoted the Minister and Director which in my opinion is not necessary. I knew this will go on and on and there will be no emphasis on the contribution or contacts with newspapers. Pls am waiting for a final copy from you based on your comments. @all, here is the account details for those who want us to take this to the next level pls. Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@all we need to action enough of talk pls, let's contribute the needed fund and move to the next stage or if any one has contact with any publisher should assist pls,we have put enough energy on talking,I think is high time we do what is important leave this contraction of the publication
@lawmaker,you can propose a new letter for consideration ,pls.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@lawmaker, make the necessary amendment inline with the proposed correction, pls. @all lets proceed with the contribution, so we can make the publication soonest.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@lawmaker; Waz up ? We are waiting for the amendmnt. All is well.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@all we don't need to wait for any correction before the contributions start rolling out, afterall the publication will not be exposed until we have the amount required. So please enough of this back n forth.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@debrown, I also want to point out here that if the required amount is additional #200k for front pages, how dop we intend to achieve that without the assistance of NNPC employees n hopefuls......i need some clarofications
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
How much is required for the publication and how are we going to raise the amount because we no longer hav nnpc hopefuls now and is like most of dpr hopefuls are not willing to contribute,so the way am looking at it ,it may not be achieved, all these publishers can't any one of them be begged to assist the helpless hopefuls,I think if we can lodge our complain to them we may be assisted.because we are tired of this talk...........
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
@all, for us to realise this money all we need to do is to contribute generously and you will be surprise to see that the money will be surplus. Remember, its nw our struggle and ours alone, God has given us every reason to go ahead with the publication by creating a poor budget implementation turmoil in the polity. So, let us try to contribute starting from tomrw.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
For clarification, a full page advertorial in the major newspapers is about N500k while half page is about N300k. I believe 1/4 page is not an option for this open letter because it will be too small. We have about N100k now. But this publication can actually be done for less than the official costs for both full page and half page or even for FREE if we have the right contacts to a publisher. I am currently talking to someone who will link me directly to a publisher of one of the major newspapers and am hoping that if we raise between N150k and N200k, we can show the publisher that we have made some reasonable efforts for a full page or at least the half page. So I encourage us to contribute what we can and pray that God will grant us favour. If you make a payment from tomorrow, kindly inform us here on the thread so that @bebrief can confirm it. I understand that he will be resuming at nnpc tomorrow 6th Aug and I guess he might be busy but I will publish the updated account as I get from him.
-
@Debrown, have deposited =N= 5000 this morning. God help us

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
Thanks for that generous contribution Namtari. I just called @bebrief, who is busy at the moment but he has confirmed receipt of the N5k.

Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
we are talking too much.
leave the speech with its many flaws alone.
a press conference is better/cheaper than a front page publication.
it would seem as if we are being sponsored.
also, the letterb seem to imply that we are scrutinizing/probing the dept..
pls, lets bget going
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
Something must come out like NNPC.
-
Re: DPR Interview; How did it go, guyz?
From the way i see this thing, it seems to stand 70%-dead, 10%-hanged, 10%-alive and 10%-unknown.
If we did listen carefully during the budget defence of Dpr. The minister said.. "The increase is term at overheads and other technical.. We are bringing in new hands also, and so the slight increase in the budget is meant for the anticipated recruitment of new staff...
From this analysis.. One with an old cap should put in on and lets begin serious shading..
