@akadom, what position did u apply for?
I don't wish to sound insensitive or gloomy, but the truth is i honestly 'THINK' they have called every one they wish to call. The recruitment process has reached the last stage: Assessment centre. So it is most "LIKELY" that those that have not been sent messages "MIGHT LIKELY" still be sent the sorry message. I speak from prior observations. That's a sorry-truth. So my advice is that the people that have not gotten any message should concentrate more on other slots as Guinness is not the only company thats good!
Just a humble advice though!
Bless you all.
I heard frm a reliable source dat they ve nt called Graduate-Finance folks for interview, but dnt knw abt Supply folks. I stand to b corrected if dis is contrary.
I hesitate to divulge this information, but when i went for the one-on-one interview, at the reception i saw a list that included my name and several other invitees. Some were already ticked, meaning perhaps that they've done theirs because when she asked for my name and i replied, she ticked mine too. That was at exactly 7.45am.
On that list the procurement heading had 10 names, the legal heading had just 2 names, the supply heading had 15 names, for HR, i cant really put a figure because i m not too sure, but i m sure it didn't exceed 13. There was a heading for Finance, even one other one, but i couldn't get those because the lady covered it after ticking my name. You can be sure that I am certain about the details i m revealing here because i saw it.
Perhaps one could argue that the list i speak of was for that days interview. well maybe, but i m doubtful about that.
The most surprising one sef was legal..just 2 names.
Naija. God help us!
@Dennizzman, apparently u applied for a procurement role, what is ur discipline?
Hmmm... Na wa o
Guys,
I use to check the posts on this thread but I have been so passive all the while... I applied for Graduate-Supply, but got bounced yesterday afternoon...after the LONG WAIT!
I felt so bad and just had to send Diageo this mail immediately:
To the Human Resources
Diageo Graduate Program
[I][I][B]Dear Sir/Madam,
I applied for the graduate supply function and I just got a rejection mail, still I wish to express my indignation as regards your current Graduate Management Program.
On July 25th 2011, you shortlisted all the other graduate functions for telephone and one-on-one interviews except those that applied for Supply and Finance functions. Yet, as if that was not worse enough, you sent successful mails to those who made it through at the interviews to get ready for your “Assessment Centers”, whereas graduates for the other 2 functions (Supply and Finance) still wait in agony…always having to check their mails every now and then in anticipation that they’ll get a mail from Diageo. But the long wait was at our peril!
PLEASE why does this recruitment program have to be like this? Instead of interviewing some graduate functions and leaving some 2 other functions that make up the majority behind, it will have been a lot better if you had carried everybody along from the start. Imagine someone like myself who had to wait a whooping 2MONTHS just to get a rejection!
But now that the deed is already done, you can still ameliorate the situation by notifying those still waiting for feedback by indicating to them the particular reason(s) responsible for the delay and then give a particular date when you wish to finally contact them…that to me will be a fair treatment to the unemployed youths in this country, an attribute which I believe a reputable company like yours should exhibit.
Sincerely,
END OF MAIL
Must confess things ain't done the right way in this country. I mean, I schooled in the UK and must tell you that I find things really different here. You want to recruit graduates and you don't give an overall time-table of the processes involved?...that's really sick!
I've been thinking all the time while patiently expecting their feedback that's it's gonna be a positive one...so I was really shocked when it eventually turned to be a rejection.
@dennizzman : I'm still wondering about the List you said you saw at your one-on-one interview because according to this thread, nobody that applied for Supply or Finance have yet been interviewed. However, there's a possibility that those names you saw are the successful ones for the functions who will soon be contacted.
Wish all you guys the best of Luck....
@babadee, well said. I'd say this shld be a wakeup call 4 d employers in Nigeria to be fair on we job seekers.
But guy u re really analytical about d whole process o & i really feel ur post. Aluta Continua! lol
nice one babadee...a well composed mail I must say..
@nedunaija, did u or any of ur folks that applied for Graduate-finance get any mail watsoever?
Procurement. I studied Chemical Engineering also...
Thanks... I wish u the best also.
I follow this thread but never really had the time to reply any. I understand that most people not called are really ticked off at the Diageo recruitment team . Especially those for the supply and Finance functions. As painful and unfair as it seems, dont be. Its really a hard task to select candidates to compete in a graduate management program. Understand that the reason why your were not rejected till recently is because you had an interesting profile however, due to the heavy and I am not exaggerating the inflow of application for the sales, supply and finance functions were breath taking and as such it came down to who fit the profile the closest (from a reliable source). Everything had to be revisited in other to reduce the number. Academic records, Essay, Test, to make sure that people selected for the one on one interview, fit the profile to the last button. O and about the timetable. Diageo is one of the only companies that follow a strict recruitment timetable its clearly stated in their website. BATN is another.
Good luck to those called for the interview. My advice is dont see anyone as a threat but as an ally because you'll need everyone's input to progress to the next stage
for those that applied for graduate supply, i have it on good grounds that the process is still on. just be patient. if you haven't been bounced yet, then you're good.
no is query about hw rigorous the process is, but they should be able to know who they want and reply the rejected at once afterall this is computer age instead d long silent
Hello Roomies, I'm a current Batch C 2010 Corps-member, who applied and took the SHL test for the graduate sales position albeit studied Engineering. Sometime in July, I was called by a HR who asked to know about my NYSC discharge status as my CV was silent on it. I told her when i'd be done - September, but till now, i'm yet to get an invite for interview, or a bounce mail. Kinda confused. Still watching and praying. :(
I got a mail on the 26th of August informing me that my one on one interview is on Wednesday 31st August, after along wait. For those who have not received a mail just remain hopeful. I think the process is still on.
Hello Kessy,
Congrats, Kindly do us a favour by sharing ur experiences @ the interview. Mine is on friday though!
Ope, I got the invite friday lastweek...Supply
To everybody in the house: Let's all keep this forum functional as regards this current Diageo recruitment. I heard from a reliable source that people have been shortlisted for the supply interview, however Finance aspirants are yet to be shortlisted (indicate if i'm wrong). The house should also note that 2dates were stated as the resumption dates on their website, some will resume on November 2011 while some by Jan 2012.
September assessment center is almost here! For we that have been shortlisted for A.C, let's try count how many we are in the house.
If u a applied for HR for instance and you've been shortlisted for AC simply post "HR 1" others shorlisted for the same HR function can then successively post "HR 2", "HR 3", "HR 4" By so doin we can be able to know d total HR invitees in the house. Other functions can as well follow suite. Lets all participate in this!

I'm just seeing this thread now and I feel compelled to contribute. I had my phone interview today . I received the interview invite abt a week ago intimating me of the format( interviwer will call you) and was told to comfirm my availability by return mail. A day after I was told to send a soft copy of my passport photograph. The interview was scheduled for 9.30am today and @ exactly 9.30am, I mean 9.30am, a call with an unknown number just came in on my fone. At the other end was the voice of a gentle man, he introduced himself and the whole show started. The questions were normal interview questions, nothing unusual at least for me sha.
He told me that the interview will last for 20minutes and belive me these people are time conscious. We didn't spend extra 10sec. The interview ended by 9.53am. I know someone is saying why the extra 3min if he claimed they are time conscious. It happened that the reception of my place was so bad that the call dropped three times and this gentle interviewer was so kind enough to call me back these three times. That's wat caused the extra 3minutes. All in allan it was a nice experience. I applied for graduate supply, studied mechanical engr..

To all Diageo's hopeful. I applied for d Graduate Supply position and did my interview today@about10:30a.m at their HQ office in Lagos. All d questions they asked were normal interview questions and nothing quite different from wat Yemweb talked about earlier on his post.
