Now, many of those working in these organizations are not going to come here to defend, support or clear the air about "their" salaries. They are satisfied leaving u in doubt.
Someone says Halliburton pays 450k. That's not true. They pay far less.
Baker Hughes pays around 140-170k per month, but the allowances (on rig) can make ur monthly pay sky-rocket. Shell, total and all these big companies sometimes force some packages on the staff which though provides value somewat reduces their overall take-home. So, don't get it twisted.
Plus, the politicking in some of these companies make some of my friends want to leave. So, it really isn't all rosy as you guys think. so, again, please don't get it twisted
Biger boy, on that total downstream thing, i don't have much idea on other allowances. Though, I do know they'd provide you with relocation benefits if you have to relocate. That means, though, they can send u virtually anywhere in the country.
The job itself is something of a sales engineering job with their lubricants and oil or LPG, and isn't very technical.
