guys, any idea how much Saipem Contracting Nigeria limited pays? Got an interview with them and I wud like to knw, entry-level.

Still expecting pay info about other oil & gas related coys e.g. Schlumberger, Halliburton, BakerHughes, Technip, etc.

Also apart from the pay, how about the welfare packages of Shell, Mobil, Total, Chevron, NLNG, etc. for example, in terms of overseas training programme, international exposure and other various benefits?

@jubril, baker is btw 150-170 basic but with other allowances if u r a field engineer. E.g. 10k per day rig allowance for trainees.

pls i would lyk 2 knw dat of Saipem. I mean dia basic and allowances.

Total downstream pays about 270-300k for entry-level. That's before tax!

Any idea about the entry level pay for Baker Hughes, Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited and Halliburton?

Halliburton its 450k for GT.

@emmykoncept, U re a big liar...I served at NLNG. My supervisor who is a Unit Head earns 502thousand per month.Her annual remuneration before tax is 13.3million. Am 100% sure of this.I even know the packages of the managers self...
Contract staffs there earns lyk 150-160k.Even tho they scraped many contract positions lastyear and converted few to perm staffs.

@efficiency_247, NLNG doesn't pay according to ur work experience.It depends on ur location n position.
If dey transfer u to another state different from where u reside,it will be another package entirely,but ur basic wil depends on if u re the MD,DD,GM,Line Manager,Line Head,Unit Head and just a junior staff.It also depends on if u re a Direct Staff or under a 2nd(From their joint ventures,Eni,Shell,Nnpc and Total or 3rd party (Regular outsourcing)contract.
Ofcourse the 2nd parties earn higher than all of them.
Their GTs collects less than 470k sha

@debeey87, master your cv, area of strength, weakness, projects u have successfully accomplished, the ones u couldn't accomplish and why, the lesson u learnt from where you fail, why field spec with Baker. How has ur education prepared you for this position. Trust me, I had succesful interview with schlumberger and now NLNG, if I were you interviewer I would ask you those questions. Please note, I have not attended bakers interview before, but ur interview shudn't be far from THESE

Just to let everyone know....I have a couple of friends who work in this o&g industry. Some even studied abroad, and came back to naija to take up these jobs. Either through nysc or aptitude tests (companies look at the CVs, in spite of the aptitude test)...just saying
Now, many of those working in these organizations are not going to come here to defend, support or clear the air about "their" salaries. They are satisfied leaving u in doubt.
Someone says Halliburton pays 450k. That's not true. They pay far less.
Baker Hughes pays around 140-170k per month, but the allowances (on rig) can make ur monthly pay sky-rocket. Shell, total and all these big companies sometimes force some packages on the staff which though provides value somewat reduces their overall take-home. So, don't get it twisted.
Plus, the politicking in some of these companies make some of my friends want to leave. So, it really isn't all rosy as you guys think. so, again, please don't get it twisted

Biger boy, on that total downstream thing, i don't have much idea on other allowances. Though, I do know they'd provide you with relocation benefits if you have to relocate. That means, though, they can send u virtually anywhere in the country.
The job itself is something of a sales engineering job with their lubricants and oil or LPG, and isn't very technical.

Jst to clarify, Total downstream will not pay a relocation allowance on ur initial posting. Be guided.

Can a MSc. Geology degree (Engineering Geology and Geotechnics Option) work in an oil company

When it comes to pay packages of different compaines, people will give unconfirmed information. How will someone say dat Halliburton pays GT 450k cos ............................. . For Total E&P , should be about 7. something million per annum b4 tax to work a minimum of 8hrs per day cos i printed a friend of mine( whom we did Msc together in abroad) offer letter last year. But during the interview , they were told 13. something or 17.something per annum. UNLESS, there were hidden packages which were not stated in the offer letter or they gave him a modified offer letter .

Of course an M.Sc. in Geology is a very competitive degree/qualification for work in the oil & gas industry most especially in the Exploration & Production (E&P) aspects.
