i really do not understand the procedure for this application so pls guys how do i go abt it?

how can one apply. because they said all application must be done via an agency or respective commonwealth country. pls can someone pls tell us where there office is in naija. thanks....

I tried going through the online application form, so on getting to a place where one is supposed to choose his country application agency, i didnt see the above address, but saw a list of universities in Nigeria. i think there must be a connection with d universities, so its good we enquire from the agency before completing the forms. PLS if you have filled yours or you have a better view please share. your response is well appreciated.

I think u should use Fed. ministry of Education as the Federal Scholarship Board is an agency under it
U can only use a university if u are a lecturer there.

Welcome newbie ivnedstep. It's a full scholarship with all expenses paid plus monthly allowances. First secure admission in an institution in the uk, apply for the scholarship online, print out copies, at least 6. Go for the interview in abuja. If you're lucky to be nominated, fine, ur application goes to commonwealth scholarship commission where the final selection is done
note that you must have ur nysc discharge cert. The application is a bit tedious and thought provoking. You can pause and continue at a later time though, but you have to good on the computer to do that. HOPE THIS HELPS. Best of luck

@ Muhakut: I have tried to apply online but i cant seem to get through cos they said they dont accept direct application from candidates. Please, what agency did you apply through and what is the procedure.

when there are too many people using their system, its slows down, so I recommend trying at night.

I was informed by my state scholarship board that we should apply online and print out six copies of the application form for the nominating interview to be held in Abuja this month. Was also informed that the date will be announced and those qualified invited. But I wonder how the invite and date for interview announcement will come, cuz last year I applied and never heard from any one.
Please any one with useful infor should keep the house updated.

@pedro, big lie! How come Nigeria is on the drop-down list in the NOMINATING AGENCY section of the form. Guys, independent/direct application is not allowed. you have to go through a nominating agency, which is NOMINATING AGENCY = NIGERIA-MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Pedro, you are very wrong in saying that Nigerians are not included in these scholarship scheme. Apart from the Nigerian listed Organizations on the CSCUK website as evidence of Nigeria being a party to this, my project partner during my undergraduate days is currently in the UK, doing his masters program and he is being sponsored by this Common Wealth Scholarship Scheme. Two of my friends are also Common Wealth Alumni so man, its real and Nigerians are included.

As for the date of the Interview, just be alert, last year the invitation was in the papers, (Daily Star Newspaper). So just be alert abd read papers every day. e no easy sha, but we dey try to meet up!!!

hey guys.......applying for the commonwealth scholarship could be a bit tedious if you dont av all you need at hand.....

get scanned copies of your core credentials like your certificate, passport picture, birth cert. et al properly reduced to an acceptable size.

you need written statements like your PERSONAL STATEMENT, STATEMENT OF PURPOSE, the former talks about your background and growing up days and why you need the scholarship, while the latter expects your purpose for studying the course you have chosen, what you intend to gain and achieve when you get back home and how you intend to improve your country.

get all your documents ready before you start applying. you'll need proof for voluntary works you might have done in the past, work experience and the likes...
and you must have applied to a school before applying for commonwealth...
