Comments on Shell Test

I think samtex has a point, but in terms of percentage influence to percentage merit, it's lyk 35:65 for major oil coy and 90:10 for govt establishments and one man biz.... I kno of someone whose name was removed from MOBIL'S shortlistin last yr to favour an in house person.... PH candidates that wrote shell test today, how did it go?

JPP, i think the Job will be better than the ongoing test. gettin a job is a process, not just the test alone.

pple don answer all test questions b4 yet unsuccessful, some passed test but not employed.

U can rather wish me luck and God' favour ........

@toluluck the test in PH its ok. We are all waiting for God's favour couple with our performance.
@oil prince. i agree with u, somone i know working with shell now, who pass through this process, said he only did well in Numerical and Verbal. The spartial was difficult for him cos he didnt understand the questions. he tried like 10, yet he was invited for the second stage and later got the job. so God's favour its inclusive.

well i wrote mine yesterday. it was the same thing base on the info i got from the Lagos guys like @ufuoma.
@Ufuoma and others, thanks to u guys, i think ur info boost our confidence.
we did the numerical first. 21 ques in 22mins. purely SHL. The second was Spartial the baba.normal 40 ques for 15mins. Honestly u require speed here and accuracy. Lastly was the verbal. 32ques in 18mins.

@PAE wot you said is very correct for PH candidates, but i think the time given to PH candidates wasn't up to 22 mins as indicated. All the same, the test is all about speed and accuracy. @ house don't solve the numeric questions as though you are solving it from your bedroom, increase your SPEED. Very important. and relax your mind for the spatial cos you will be thoroughly briefed and tot. Good luck.

This is a little advice for those that re yet to write. For d numerical, don't waste time scribblin anything on paper, you lose on time when shuttling between d paper and your answer sheet. Ensure u punch in d values into your calc strait away and double check ur result. I think u gain some few precious seconds when u interprete d questions strait into your calc.... And Pls don't use Market women calculators, otherwise u 'd regret it... Ensure your calc can display ur entered values for validation.... Sorry for putting this info on dis thread and this late.... really that Verbal part was a bit annoying, had no time to read thoroughly to ascertain if the question is either false or cannot say.......really pissing....but the spatial and the numerical part was good anyway......its just by the grace of the Almighty..............."In your arms o lord i put my faith"

Guys i dont understand. How is the test marked on line?

Shell doesnt waste time to tell whetehr you are successful or not. What takes time some times is calling for the interview.
What happened last year was the Niger Delta crisis, affected them a lot and they were actually thinking of stopping their Training program.
Everything is settled now, so lets keep our hopes alive.

The recruitment with shell is one of the fairest I have seen, u do not need a Gof father or mother. And its not soooooooooo technical (SITP interview o). Being urself and exhibiting confidence is what u need. They tell u, they are not looking to hire supermen, but teachable graduates.

gzl, "machine layout" made me jack that Gmat 2007 advised by Nero444, abi dem gave us a different STS5? the STS5 I did in PH were just like d examples (as advised by Toluluck).

I discovered that some STS5 questions didn't have answers(no difference from the specimen) e.g no 35 and others, they may decide to give it a bonus provided it wasn't ticked.

You are the first person to say that some questions didnt have answers. I actually tot i was not thinking straight when i couldnt find answers to some of the sts5 questions. lol

i left mine blank. I expect them to give us the marks for those questions. afterall they said avoid wild guessing.

i agree with u guys. because i look and look but couldn't find the error. i felt maybe my eyes is deceiving me. Well only Shell knows what they are looking at. GOD WILL NEVER FORGET US.

@oilprince: I never saw the GMAT 2007 textbook, so I don't know how u got the idea of the book cos I did not tell you anything about that. :D I only tried to give you an insight by my own description of machine/circuit layout.

one of us said d delay 2years ago was due to militant wahala

No wahala the two weeks will expire by monday which happens to be a public holiday so say tuesday but for those that wrote in Lagos their two weeks must have elapsed , Any news from that end?

The people that wrote on the 19th are for SITP2 ie mainly for technicians while SITP1 is for Graduate but all the same lets wait and see.

@house, Pls those that wrote the test on 10th in Lagos. Any news?

pls. dont circulate wrong information. we all did SITP1, both Lagos and PH
(I dont know the meaning of Shell Technical graduate position, but PH pple were University graduates)
SITP2 is for OND/HND

Pls don't misunderstand me. I never said that people who wrote in PH are OND nor forSITP2. I myself wrote in PH on 19th for SITP1.
