Chevron is calling for skill test-drilling engineer position

Did anybody else receive this invitation?
Please, I need your help on what to expect.

We refer to your application for the position of Drilling Engineer with Chevron Nigeria Limited, and wish to invite you for Skills Test scheduled to hold as follows:
Date: Friday, July 15, 2011
Time: 10.00 am
Venue: Hotel Bellissimo (Bellissimo Hall), New Road Bus Stop, Near Chevron Round about,
Lekki, Lagos.
Please endeavour to be at the venue at least thirty (30) minutes to the commencement of the test.
You are required to come along with this letter, the Original with Photocopies of your detailed CV and credentials, and any of the following forms of identification: International Passport, Work ID-Card, and Drivers’ License.
You will be provided with all test materials at the venue but please come with your Scientific Calculator and ruler.
Kindly confirm receipt of this mail and your availability to attend.

Thats very interesting! Because I thought Chevron had called and interview drilling engineers before now. I suggest U call the number and confirm this invitation. But I hope its genuine

I am surprised too. Pls OP when did u apply and did u write the aptitude test in Chams?

I applied on the 16th of May,2011.Infact this should be my first Chevron test.

@Refb..I got the mail from the HR guy.

Anyway, have you guys done the test before?......I need helppppppppppppppppppp.

This must be for the experienced DE position advertised some weeks back

Expect Cement Volume calculations, Well Control, Casing Design, Well design, mud hydraulics

Well their skills test so far, has been about your work really. So be prepared for all the basics and much more in your drilling engineering role. U would be fine. Wish U d very best mate!

I was invited also.heard also dat completion guys were invited at same time and venue.I guess its drilling and completions.pls wat r we doing with scientific calculators

thou shalt not worry, u might not even need a calculator cos as i remember we were asked to get one for the geoscience skill test bt der was actually no need for it. Bt if i'm to give an advice, it's not too much stress to get one all the same cos remember this is chevron we're talking bout, lol. all the best

But do you have an idea what drilling and completions skills test is about.
Where the questions all objective in your geoscience skills test......

@visitor29 believe me you'll definately need the calculators,i wrote the drilling test for GT and it was 25 questions 2 b answered in about 1hr 15mins,its basically calculations and but you should also read some basic theories in drilling engineering,and for the records it wasn't objectives,you will be required to solve each questiion. Make sure you prepare hard,i didn't make it coz i read civil eng'rng and didn't know anything about drilling eng'rng till i was invited for the test so there was no way i could have known what 2 read. Like someone said in an earlier post,the areas of conc.its not far from that.hope this hint helps,all the best,one love
