Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
Hey guys.I worked for this company briefly in the UK prior to returning back to Naija last year and it is Norwegian company with branch in Aberdeen UK. The company has presently packed up and has been acquired by another subsea company called SUBSEA 7. This vacancy has always been there and intended for UK applicants. Acergy is also operating in Nigeria as Stolt offshore. I dont believe that the vacancy is real and even if, it is for UK applicants.
Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
I tot it was Acergy Nigeria that was recruiting; Acergy UK ????? No blackguy was invited from my class only
the whiteguys in their last recruitment exercise. In March 2010 during their graduate career presentation
in my university, we observed that in the last four years based on the breakdown of the number of
graduate Engineers employed none was from Africa. A colleague asked a question on their policy on equal
employment opportunity and why there is no African representation in a multinational company.
May be our CVs and essays does not meet their minimum requirements (?). Guys, don’t just forward
anyhow CV, make sure you package your CVs very well. Good luck

My dear brother...I think your info isnt totally true.
They got bought over by Eni IT but maintained their originally and predominantly French staff, culture, and back ground.
They operate in Nigeria as Globestar Engineering and partially as Oceon.
They do operate a Graduate program (GEDS) but what I cant say is if they meet local content on that program but there are Nigerians working there so dont believe they have none.
Its a great company and they are foremost contractors to Checron, Mobil, etc.
I will urge every young engineering graduate with a good CV to apply, afterall it doesnt cost more than the cost of internet time.
NO I do not work there so I wont reply or entertain questions any further.
God bless!

Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
this is currently the only vacancy available in Nigeria and requires minimum of 5 years experience. Use the link for more details
http://www.acergy-group.com/public/LagosOpportunities
I also saw the below on their site as their joint ventures\
Global Oceon Engineers Nigeria Limited (Oceon) is a joint venture partnership, based in Nigeria between Petrolog Group, Pegasus International and Acergy. This forms a multi-disciplinary engineering design company that offers comprehensive engineering services from definition engineering through to construction support.
Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
Guys there is nothing like GEDS program for Acergy in Nigeria. A friend of mine who currently work with Global Oceon Engineers (a joint venture with Acergy) as pipeline engineer said they use Oceon just for Winning Contract (due to OBJ's Content initiative) and thereafter get all the french boys from paris do the work. The pay he said for a French boy under GEDS working in naija for 1 night is equal to Oceon's staff annual turkey allowance+bonus. Acergy has been confusing Nigerians of starting operation in Nigeria since 2006 but could not successfully establish itself due to their non-sincerity and manipulations with other few corrupt Nigerians to squander the all projects dividends. Other acergy operations may appear as Globestar due to same reason that generate Oceon.
In my own opinion, this advert is for UK citizens alone as up to date even with the reduction of their reduced recession have not warrant employing foreigners especially outside EU. You can still give it a trial and have some experience of UNFORTUNATELY emails.
Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
Its like these guys are really notorious for not honouring Local Content Policy...I think the good folks of the house have said it all.
Re: ACERGY RECRUITING GRADUATE ENGINEERS
It's rather unfortunate that the objectives of the local content program which is to reduce capital flights and boost technological know-how and independence of the masses of Nigeria is only being enjoyed by a few Nigerian elites who are in criminal/business partnership with these foreign firms.
But the big blame goes to the corrupt and wicked leadership(legislative & executive) of the country who only pays lip service to this critical program.
Up till the moment the Petroleum Industry Bill is yet to get the nod of the legislative. These are areas when adequately done will reduce poverty to minimum level in the country instead of the unprofitable poverty alleviation program being used to steal money.
Well, 2011 is ahead and methinks our collective efforts to participate in the voting in of quality law-makers is very important. Not this current type whose only passionate obligation is to move, support and pass bills for the absurd increment of their own remunerations. May God deliver us.
