500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
My dear people, is this feasible, only God knows wat the Govt. is up to, it is a good initiative but how long are we to wait for this. I ve been trying to find the way they are going to do about this but do not really know. I am not a politician but I think we can re-elect him, if this and power are the only projects he can give to we youths within this period (2011-2015), I think he is Ok, but if he fails to do this, then PDP will be ousted, not only from FG but from the states and LG's and never to come back. We do not want failures again

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
It is very feasible...It's just hard for many to believe. Why? Because many of us are not politician and basically we do not understand this country. The gas revolution project by now would have been actualized since 2010, but the problem with the success should be attributed to the Northern and Southern issue in our country. It was not in the best interest of the north to allow it to be successful. Whereas gas is being flared at the detriment of the Niger-delta and few places to come in the basin of Lagos & Ogun state by the time the country starts exploring oil in those region. Reason is this; most Nigeria establishments are run by the public interest where many of our northern brothers have the opportunity to work. The ministry, the power sector and the marine sector. Have you asked yourself that why in this world do we have in the oil and gas sector over 90% southerners at top of affairs, can you tell me the number of managers, directors or workers in shell, Exxon Mobil, chevron that are from the north..Very few. The politics that is been played in the north has gotten to a stage that they just do not want where any of those parastatals where they can gainfully get employed be privatized so that they can still be relevant. You know what it means that once the foreign investor takes over, what they would need are competent hands to execute their jobs because they are here to make gains. No ghost worker, punctuality is essential and 100% accountability. This was why the power sector privatization was not successful. A good government should be for continuity but this wasn't Yaradua's case when he got in, he was there to probe OBJ in disguise but I knew it was not because of that.. Gas are been wasted in the Niger delta. Very little of these gas are been used to power some power plant in Port Harcourt and some other places like omoku in rivers state. Whereas this would have be useful in the entire nation. 2005..If you go to www.bg-group.com a company called British gas, came into Nigeria to invest in our power sector and part of it was to build a plant for gas gathering plant- OLOKONLNG between Ogun & Ondo, even another one called brassnlg in bayelsa...But when yaradua came in, he grounded it and stopped investing in the project. This was why BG decided it was going to leave Nigeria but the FG begged them to stay back since the emergence of Jonathan. During OBJ's tenure things were moving at a pace that many of us could see but when yaradua came, things went so down that employment became so difficult... Now PIB(Petroleum Industry bill) is another. This is another one our northern brothers are frustrating in the senate floor because most of this mini flow-station shell control are mostly in swamps and land, this would be acquired by the south and run by the southerners but I just do not get it. How many petroleum related study engineers can they produce in the north?Or how many electrical engineers or mehanical engineers can they produce to take over our power sector? Very few!!! We have been going to school in the south even when it's not free education while they have refused to when it totally free for them in the north. They say Boko Haram!!! Haram to western education...So tell me why are they looking for relevance with force in the Nigerian economy. What they need to do now is send their kids to school in order to cover up the gap rather than slowing or bringing our economy to a halt. I just pray that GEJ would be there May 29, because if he does, brother I can tell you 500,000 jobs in the oil, gas and power industry is very feasible and I can see it coming....Pray hard because they are doing everything to make sure Jonathan does not emerge...But one advice I would give to many of us in the oil and gas industry is that we should start packaging our CVs very well because soon many quiet oil companies would float in Nigeria as soon as the PIB bill is passed and the gas revolution kicks off. Even that very day Jonathan launched the gas revolution project, immediately 3 companies signed an MOU...Wake up!!! Update yourself.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
i thought the PIB has been passed? anyway ur analysis is straight to the point. I am currently working today courtesy of the nigerian content initiative in one of the oil service company and i tell you what, there will be plenty of opportunities with the PIB.
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
No!!! The PIB has not been passed..The day our gullible senator were suppose to delibrate on the bill;many of them were out to campaign. Just about 8 senators delibrated on it and almost caused an uproar in the house between our brothers in the north and the south-south senators. Why? Over the clause " Nigerian Goverment" but which our abokis in the house said it must be Federal Republic of Nigeria....Well they were smart over that as they do not want a less defined clause....
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Mat God deliver this nation over north and south dichotomy that has been ravaging her for years. we should try to live as one.
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
adexzy007 good analysis...lets just hope that all will workout as planned, however remember that if the PIB fail to pass before the election, the house will be desolved and the new house will start the process all over again....dejavu!!!....Typical Nigerian phenomenon .....!!!!

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Guy you are right..This is why sometimes I encourage some dirty things to happen for a good purpose in this country.....If election should be rigged to move this country forward, I bet you it should be rigged because we just cannot trust all this white lies campaign we hear...I can only use my spirit to follow that person I trust....But pls house..don't crucify me on this...If election must be rigged to move the country foward...Abeg it should be rigged..Just imagine a minority like Jonathan fighting those lions who have the numbers in the north..Guy Am scared this people wants to take us into slavery like our old colonial masters.....
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Rigging will take us no where, its only righteousness dt exalts a nation. This is one of d reasons Nig. has nt moved forward, d foundatn was built on lie. Let d new gentn. stand 4 truth then we can move forward. GEJ is OBJ's boy, our reserve has bn depleted, now we re in debth again. If he has tangible tn to offer he must convince us. We can't wait till 2015, after 12years of wasteful PDP reign.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Well I pray something good comes out of this, cos I feel ashmed of myself sometimes. My idleness has made me commit a lot of sins which I never bargained for, after my service year. Even with 2:1 in Engr. I cant believe I can stay this long wihout a job. Even the so called NNPC test which nobody believes its going to be credible. Abeg God 4give me my sins and give me something tangible and be productive. All those hawks in that house, only God will judge them. That is why they will leave there, God help us we youth and punish those behind retarding the progress of this country. They give jobs to those not capable of tackling problem (especially ladies), their relatives, etc and they leave the best graduates wandering and crying every morning and night, still thinking of will be of us every passing day, just because we do not have anyone. They do not know they are indirectly behind the numerous kidnapps and atrocity young ones commit, later they will sign a bill of death to those kidnppers. Well let me still package my CV and keep waiting 4 something good to happen in my life very soon, if those dogs that call themselves house members behave like people that have conscience and sign that PIB. That is why we youths have to vote wisely. Thanks everyone

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
I quite agree with BIYISON,rigging is not the solution to the problem, come to think of it,we ve been rigging for years now, where has it taken us to.It has rather given the masses more heart ache, impoverished the masses even more,& crippled the economy. The time has come for my vote & urs to count. For this is the only way we can hold this people to account for every thing they do while in office. The same people who are complaining about the governance in the country are still been bought over with a bag of salt or rice.We as Nigerians ve to address the issue of illiteracy and poverty, that is the bane of Nigeria's problem.A hungry man would rather ve the bag of rice today, than vote the right leader into office and wait for 10 years to rip the dividends. It is time to think and act right.
If the PIB is passed, we re all better off with it.Nigeria should diversify it's economy,go back to the time where we had pyramids of groundnut in the north. There re other viable sectors apart from oil and gas.Nigerians all want to get rich over night,no one wants to wait for the yams, cassava and coco-yam in the farm to get harvested, they want the windfall profit that comes from oil and gas, hence the heavy reliance on the sector.
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Biyison it purely shows you did not read the second comment on this topic b4 you jumped on conclusion about GEJ or OBJ..I am sure you just go out there to seek for a job but you do not understand how the goverment policies affects your life... In my very interest, OBJ-GEJ have added value to my life...And I can tell you what they are during their goverment.. Tell me what Yaradua did to push the economy foward during is goverment...You talked about the nation wasnt built on righteousness but lies...One wonders where you got that from? United states and other western community today were built on a true ground shey? May be you forgot how they enslaved you for years before your freedom in the 60's...It was built on a true ground shey?..They have stocked pile of nuclear missiles in there stores....True ground too...U had better shut your mouth and understand how this rouges feed on you...If you are a member of the SPE...Then you would understand why we are chasing them into the deep shores....We have competent hands too and we are tired of too much expertriate milking us for no reason... Why am I even telling you all these..you are just a graduate without any idea of how the goverment is run....You think it's just a sheet of paper and pen stuff...You can vote GEJ out and sell your future back to the north and let them kill the 500,000 feasibles jobs coming and the PIB bill.. Mumu like you....
-
Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Saintduck.. Honestly I never wished rigging but God has been the voice of we minority in this country...Does it occur to many of us that there in the north they have the number...No one is talking about credibility again in this country such that we can look at it and pick the best hand to run a party platform that is strong in Nigeria. They keep bringing those that are questionable to challenge PDP. Tell me...How you expect a thief to rigg a thief... Can anyone in this room tell me if any of this party is worth voting for... Because we talk about no rigging but tell me...Can you vouch for RIBADU.. Who once called is God father Bola ahmed tinubu a fraud and now he's boss....Buhari a coup plotter...the 52 briefcase stocked with foreign currency..Toppled a civilian government that got us back into this mess and on and on to IBB and stupid abacha.......Every day I wake up...They just keeping making me right and convinced that OBJ is better than all...Have we all forgotten many accused RIBADU of being used by OBJ....What does he have to say now....Why didn't Buhari and Ribadu answer goodluck on what he asked them if anyone of them can deny they do not have a bank account abroad or their kids schooling over there....These are the men that wants to rule us....They have kept their own brothers in the north from North going to school and someone is telling me with their numbers in the north you think a person like GEJ would have been able to do it......Sometimes we do not see God hands but play to the gallery.. God is really a faithful God..Who has seen the terrain of this nation; he does not want us to go back into another civil war...The neglect in the Niger-delta. Who killed saro wiwa...? Why? Look this is not american where they have a general language but difference in what they believe...The votes are shared equally between democrats and republicans -- Indepedents are there to compliment whatever goverment they feel would do better.... But here in Nigeria.. We have at least 3 minorities-- The southeast, southsouth and Middle belts...So who would speak for this people where we have this greedy bigots who call themselves fulanis...They are have ruled this nation for more than 38 years with nothing to show for it and still you are telling me rigging should not favour the minority..Am sure you must be thinking CPC is not ready to rig buhari in or AC for ribadu...? Wake up and stop dreaming....It is a matter of knowledge, wisdom and practical numbers....GEJ can only have his way by mercy or sympathetic vote from the north to be voted for but if all should come together...Forget....he would never smell it....

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
And who says GEJ's kid are studying in Nigeria. His kids are in the American International School, Abuja, Tuition fees of USD 17,000 per term. That is more than the fees at Harvard, MIT, Yale, Stanford etc. Do you consider such a school as a Nigerian School. GEJ should tell us about policies and leave all this talk about his kids studying in Nigeria and not having a foreign bank account. I am no way near being a rich man and I have less than 500 grand to my name but I have a foreign account so that shouldnt be a big deal. For me PDP has failed us severally in the past 12years and I dont see GEJ standing up to the corrupt cartel, afterall he even dines and wines with them. A couple of weeks ago, 18 Nigerians died in an Auto-crash along Benin-Ore road, the man who got NGN 16Billion to repair the road sits on the dining table with our president. I really want to hear how the 500,00 jobs will come from.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
God help us in this country, sometimes I thank God that I was born here because of the vast natural resources we have and also a free natural disaster zone etc. But sometimes I ask God why these corrupt and avaricious leaders are still in existence handling the affairs of this blessed country. Pls lets try and look for people with vision and not empty promises. The fact is that the only person that can make PDP still survive in 2015 is Goodluck, cos if he fails in his promises God help them, till the world ends nobody will listen to them again (It will be better they were not created). They have wasted 12years of our valuable life stealing, looting and wasting our resources. Education sector is messed up, lack of power, poor infrastructure, agricultural sector that would have given hope to many is still nothing to talk about, the one that concerns me directly, UMEMPLOYMENT is on the increase. A barrel of crude oil is about $105 and Nigeria produces abt 3.5million barrels per day yet we still crying about this manmade disasters these leaders caused, still fighting for 18,000naira minimum wages, when all those spoilers that call theirselves sit down and boundle millions to their children outside the shores of this country. God did not develop those coutries they send their children to, they developed it by theirselves, cant we do dat ourselves instead of relying on people. This was not the plan of God for ourlives(Nigerians) when he situated these solid (iron ore, coal, limestone etc.) liquid (Crude oil) and gaseous mineral resources here, he did not make a mistake doing that, yet we cry day and night for intervention. What we need in this country is character transformation and reformation not words. Probably if this continues Libya will be better than us. Lets still watch and see how 500,000 jobs we be feasible cos I still pray it better be, let the PIB be signed also and those evildoers be flushed out of this great nation or if possible be sent on exile, if that will make this our country be what God has designed it to be from the start. Thanks

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Buhari’s Many Faces: By Julius Ogunro
No election is complete in the United States without a comprehensive background check on the candidates. Almost everything they had said, every actions they had taken and choices made are scrutinized by the media, and the opposition. Even the clubs, and churches the candidates attend, all is up in the radar. The essence is to dig out the true character of the contestants, their ideological preferences and worldviews, and how these may colour their decisions if they get elected. Americans don’t joke with the antecedent of their politicians, especially those vying for a top position. While a candidate running for an election often say the right things and make the right noises to get elected, an investigation of his background may reveal something entirely different. He may be a closet racist or a religious bigot, or simply incompetent. It was a background check that almost torpedoed the presidential ambition of Barrack Obama in 2008. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ pastored by the fiery Jeremiah Wright. Wright had condemned the United States government in several sermons at the Church, blaming it for most of the world’s ills, including manufacturing the AIDS virus. The discovery endangered Obama’s presidential dream as the suspicion was that he might share his pastor’s vociferous anti-American views. Obama eventually had to denounce Wright.
I wonder what a comprehensive background check might reveal about our Presidential candidates. But if there is one presidential candidate I don’t need any investigation into his background to know his opinion, worldview and biases, that man should be General Muhammed Buhari.
The Buhari narrative is very well known. He became head-of-state in the early 80’s at the age of 41 after bulldozing his way into power through a coup which led to the sack of the NPN government led by Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Buhari quickly made name for himself as a no-nonsense leader who would not tolerate any dissent and indiscipline. Or so he would have us believe. This public mien as a dispassionate anti-corruption crusader was however undermined by some of the not-so secret actions he took. Firstly after the coup, several political leaders were arrested and detained. But surprisingly, while the former President Shagari was kept in a cozy apartment in Ikoyi, his deputy Alex Ekwueme was jailed at the maximum prison in Kirikiri. The question, I am sure, Buhari still finds difficult to answer almost 30 years after is: what peculiar offence did Ekwueme commit to warrant the rough treatment he got while his boss had a much better deal at Ikoyi? If the public officers were jailed because of their collective responsibility for the actions of their government, Shagari as head of that government should take most of the blame. The only exception would be that that there were peculiar and personal allegations leveled against Ekwueme, the former VP, which his boss was unaware of. Mr Buhari may want to throw more light on this. If not one is likely to believe the allegations on the street that Ekwueme was treated more harshly because he is from the Southeast unlike Shagari who is from the same Northwest zone as Buhari.
Then during the time when old currency was being changed to new ones, Buhari announced the closure of the borders to ensure that there was no smuggling in or out of money. But even that action was dogged by allegations of bias coloured by ethnicity. Nasir El Rufai, the former FCT minister put it better in press statement he sent out earlier this year. “In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his ADC’s father, to enter Nigeria unchecked, at a time the country was exchanging old currency for new ones,” El Rufai said. Buhari reportedly turned a blind eye to that infraction because the person involved was a leading emir from the North.
This charge of ethnic bias has trailed Buhari throughout his public life. But as well noteworthy was his inflexibility and highhandedness. Two evidences will suffice. As head-of-state, Buhari promulgated the infamous decree four. The gist of this decree is that a journalist who reported any issue that embarrassed the military government would be sent to jail, even if the report was true. True to his threat, two journalists – Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor were jailed for reports, which though accurate were deemed to be embarrassing to the government. Another decree prescribed death sentence for drug traffickers, no matter the quantity of drugs trafficked; and to make it more draconian the law was retroactive. It ensnarled several drug peddlers months after they had committed the crime and before the law was passed. They were summarily executed in spite of the public outcry that the decree was against natural justice.
If Nigeria were to be US or a more sane society, the media would have feasted on these breaches by Candidate Buhari. The fact that he sacked a legitimate government would be enough reason to rule him out of national or statewide contest for a political office. The Americans and, to some extent, the Europeans are very particular about the kind of people who offer themselves for an election. This scrutiny is not misplaced. It is to ensure that people with dubious background never hold serious political offices. That was why the candidacy of George McGovern, the Democratic Party Candidate of the 1972 US Presidential election lost traction. It was revealed that his Vice Presidential nominee, Thomas Eagleton, once suffered clinical depression and had visited a psychiatrist. Eagleton wasn’t mad, but needed help for emotional issues. That was enough to derail the presidential ambition of McGovern, even though he eventually replaced Eagleton after initially dithering. Americans don’t take a chance, even the slightest one, with those they entrust with leadership. Whoever becomes the US President becomes leader of the free world and is ultimately responsible for its nuclear arsenal. So they cannot afford to take such a chance.
But why are many Nigerians willing to take a chance with Buhari? What in his antecedent give them hope that he will be a democrat, a fair and just leader to all? I have looked closely into the man’s history and optimism does not well up in me. As for fear, I have it plenty. For example, the 1990s were a tough period for our country. It was the time a lot of human rights and pro democracy activists took on the Sanni Abacha dictatorship. Many were killed, including Kudirat Abiola and Pa Alfred Rewane; while thousand of journalists and pro democracy activists were either sent to jail or forced into exile. Many statesmen, Ekwueme inclusive, took a stand and confronted Abacha at grave risk to their lives. Where was Buhari at this tumultuous period of our national life? Not a word was heard from him. Rather he was serving the dictator as chairman of PTF. None of the events of that time could sufficiently move him to stand up for democracy. Not the death of Kudirat. Not the attempted murder of Alex Ibru. Not the numerous protests by ordinary Nigerians who took to the street to call for the end of Abacha’s dictatorship. So how could he reap where he did not sow? How could we “gift” him with the presidency when, when it mattered most he did not show courage and failed to stand with the Nigerian people?
With the return of democracy it was discovered that Buhari’s PTF was run like a northern enclave. The consultants that wound the fund down discovered over 70 percent of the projects executed were done in the north. The southeast was the worst of all the zones with barely a handful of projects executed there. So what offence did the South commit to warrant such neglect? The only reasonable explanation was that Buhari is a man whose worldview and consequently actions are shaped by his ethnicity and religion. That must be reason why he was the favourite spokesperson for Fulani interest. During the early 2000s, there was a conflict between Fulani cattle rearers and farmers in Oyo state. The conflict led to the death of some Fulani herdsmen. An angry Buhari was the spokesperson of the Fulani, and he warned the then Oyo Governor, Lam Adeshina to ensure the safety of his people or…There was nothing wrong with this, but for Buhari to define ‘his people’ as the Fulani of the north, why should we, the rest of the nation, expect a fair deal from his presidency? It is just like a member of Ku Klux Klan, the extremist white organization, coming to ask for votes from members of the black community in the US, or running for a national election. Buhari has shown biases for members of his ethnic group, what right does he now have to ask the whole nation to vote for him? Has he ever spoken for the interest of the South? The answer is no. Not a word was heard from him during the numerous ethno-religious crises in the north in which southerners and Christians were killed. Not a word from this man who wants my vote, the vote of a southern Christian. The only time he spoke up was to defend Sharia and the right of Muslims to have the religious legal system.
Buhari’s actions show that his worldview is narrow and shaped by his ethnicity and religion. There is no reason to believe he has changed. So why should I commit the leadership of my country into the hands of a proven religious bigot and tribalist? Why?

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
arch411@ Even if his kids attend an american school here in Nigeria at that rate, of cos the money still lives here in this country, provide jobs for some Nigerians in that school , and if I am not wrong for the fact that the school have been in existence before GEJ even became governor, that school must be paying tax..All these comes back to the Nigerian goverment. And you asked that you want to know how the 500,000 job would be feasible..I beg to ask you a question. Do you listen to news at all, if you listened to him then he outlined how this would work. 500, 000 feasible jobs doesn't mean full time within the oil and gas....There would be direct and indirect labour. Contract would be there too. I think you have not been to the Niger-delta before to see many of the flow-stations.. I did my IT with shell and I can count the number of flow stations shell alone owns and each of this flow stations flare gas like water.....wasting our reasources...But if Gas gathering plants can be built to gather most of this gas, do you think it would be one gas station that would be built to do that.......?Talking from the plannning stage, design stage, where you have the autocad engineers, computer engineers who be the one to take care of this computers, project engineers inclusives, on site HSE engineeers, quality assurance specialist--- This is even different from the refinery that would be constructed by the multinationals which 3 companies have already signed MOU into...At least if you get a job with any of this comapanies on the fat salary you get, are you not going to employ at least two person to do something for you in your house. Either a driver for your mum or something you probably cannot have time for. This is how wealth is spread ...So think...Or you think you would be the only one to benefit from such if you eventually get the job...It is a chain of benefit. Look with the gas revolution in Nigeria which he launched...I can confidently tell you this that the number of companies in the oil and gas industry would be doubled because gas utility and petrochemicals is a different ball game entirely... Also they would be used to produced enough fertilizer..Now farmers can get it cheap rather than going for imported fertilizers...This area of the economy is even different from the power generation where there would be total privatisation and system overhauling ...You just don't know a lot..Because GEJ is a silent achiever and he's working ... If you really want to know what is happening in the power sector...Go to www.nigeriapowerreform.org then you sure would get informed.... If you open that document, the presidential task force includes the Minister of Petroleum and the GMD.What are they doing in this reform? To use our wasting resources in the Niger Delta to drive our power sector..After country likes Japan buy Gas into their country just drive their power station...Which is even different from their Nuclear reactor. Of we dont have to go Nuclear because we have gas in abudance...So should we be different...Don't be a confused man..Just make sure you are informed....

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Adexy...I quite agree with ur analysis of the situation at hand in Nigeria, though I didnt study one of d major oil&gas courses, i know if this project succeeds, it will favor us all, if not me,somebody i know..
Bt...I will advise u to take kindly to those dat hold a different view from urs, this is a thread and u cant ve a balanced discussion if there is no dissent view from yours. If u take tym to read their submissions, u will find elements of truth in their arguments. Why do we have to believe any of this contestants/any politician? cos they ve mis-used and mis-managed d opportunities we ve given them. I advise u dont become soo sentimental and miss d point. For me,I am seeing pple drummimng d Jonathan drum just for a change from Northern presidency,if not: going thru his profile both as Bayelsa state Governor and now President, leaves much to be desired..He seems to ve lofty ideas bt not strong-willed and seems sometyms to look d oda way why things go wrong, why d pple he wants to lead are being massacred in Jos/Maiduguri/and everyoda part of d country, by heartless and faceless individuals. He seems sooo busy campaigning wen it is appearing most of his would-be voters are now in d graves, courtesy of those he is not interested in pursuing. I quite agree that d Naija political terrain is quite slippery and must be approached with diplomacy, but STRONG_WILL must be in d CV of whoeva shld emerge as our leader.
Again, as youths, I always would prefer if we dont harbor strong resentment against pple of oda ethnicity cos u were almost using the NOTHERN RULING CLASS to adjudge the WHOLE NOTHERNERS as highly biased. Though, the ethnicity thing has always played out as u mentioned them, bt i wld prefer u letting out ur anger without names-calling cos this forum is made up of pple from every tribe and such will only fan d flames of enemity in d minds of all...
Bt all in all, a great analysis you ve got there, hope to meet u sometym in 20...wen we wil be public office holders bt then u must ve learnt to take kindly to opposition, if not u will go down d drains as those u are critisizing...lol..
@fyn-boy...(I bu ezigbo nwa afo Igbo!!)
Ur argument and analysis is jst d perfrect answer to the issue at hand.Have we taken tym to dig out d past of these would-be leaders. What do we make of d drama dat played out as debates for the presidential election? Where we had boycotting/absenteeism at debates and where we also watched a SOLO DEBATE!! How long will they insult our SENSIBILITIES??? I have no kind word for CPC/ACN/ANPP who decided against d 2nd debate to pay GEJ bak in hz own coins..Thats sheer nonsense!!! It goes to tell u dat none of them understands d esence of debating..Are they debating for GEJ or are they not MARKETING THEMSELVES FOR THE ELECTORATES?? Poor Us!!! our votes has neva counted!! if not, all of them from PDP>>>>ANPP shld be counting their losses now.
How long will this continue? Thank God last Sat election was shifted, as I can authoritatively tell you dat majority of the pple i asked in my area, dont even know d candidates dat ar seekin to represent us in d lower&upper chamber...I cant remember any of them campaigning or saying anything to convince us,all i know is their names from the posters that littered everywhere!! Funny enogh, i know d candidates from my home constituencies and their programs, bt in Lagos here, i heard nothing from them..
If we continue our analysis, I bet u dat d list of reasons not to vote any of d candidates of PDP/ACN/ANPP/CPC cannot be exhausted cos they are almost all birds of a feather with one thing or the oda hanging on their neck.. then d question is, WHO IS OUR BEST BET?

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Amaka you have really made a good point here..I really do not have issue with our fellow brothers in the North on tribal issue..What am actually against is there leaders in the North..They are just not ready to improve the lives of their fellow brother there in the North and if you look at it very well, many of the electorates in the north are not even seeing it that way because their leaders have constantly brain washed them. They believe education is not good for them but arabic study all through...One wonders where our country Nigeria would turn to if they adopt sharia in Nigeria...However I appreciate your advise..No vex with me..infact friends make una no vex...I just dey boil..I just dey paranoid because someone cannot because of his own problem withhold my own success....I want to move forward.....

If you read AdeXYZ's last post, then I dont see why u jst posted dis comment..learn to allow odas air their opinion and pick one/two things from it. I have also been to the North and u will actually agree with me dat the political elites ensures dat d wealth circulate in their circle and the poor gets poorer and more dependent... bt lyk I said earlier,A few cannot be a good standard for measuring d whole of the north....
having said that, lyk ADEXYZ, I await ur apology to me becos u jst breached the rules of "no-names-calling" dat "the disciplinarian" has laid down!! lol..
Is the apology ready????

Can anyone in this room tell me if any of this party is worth voting for... Because we talk about no rigging but tell me...Can you vouch for RIBADU.. Who once called is God father Bola ahmed tinubu a fraud and now he's boss....Buhari a coup plotter...the 52 briefcase stocked with foreign currency..Toppled a civilian government that got us back into this mess and on and on to IBB and stupid abacha.......''

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
ADEXZY007,u have spoken well. But i tell u one thing come may 29th 2011,GEJ will still be in office no matter how dirty the other politicians play it in the coming general elections.I tell u one thing,do u honestly think GEJ is so ignorant of the money politics in the country,or doesn't know how to play his political cards well enough.Buhari,Ribadu,IBB and the rest hypocrites who strive on the freedom of innocent Nigerians can go to hell for all that i care. The political structure and system in Nigeria is flawed, and as such there is no such thing as free and fair election devoid of rigging. It is left for u & i to decide whether we would like to be ruled by the North again. How many political parties do we have in Nigeria? The answer to that question would simply tell u whether or not we ve genuine politicians who re really willing to serve the country,or simply rip the country off as we ve seen in the past or simply wanting to ve a feel of power.
If u play politics without considering the geographical terrain of Nigeria, and without forming allies,do u honestly think even the so call rigging would favour the minorities, this is a question for u ADEXZY007.If the north decides to converge to rig,and the south does the same do u think GEJ will win?.
Why do u thing SAMBO is the running mate(vice president) of GEJ.See ADEXZY007,when u analyse polotical matters don't bring in ur emotions or sentiments, because u feel we re in the minority. The political factors that brought GEJ into power before things further worked in his favour re still there. After the death of yaradua do u think some of the north wanted GEJ,how did he weather the storm.I guess u don't know,do u?.If the elections is perceive to be rigged in disfavour of GEJ, by the south-south,Niger-delta to be precise, what do u think will happen to the fragile peace in that region. Why do u think GEJ was hand picked to be VP,in the first place.DO U THINK Nigeria would be able to exploit or explore for oil there. Don't be naive ADEXZY007.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Saintduck, then you simply did not understand the content of my comment..I am not naived of all the political calculation you have stated here..Right from the days of OBJ have I predicted where the bell would swing to in the country and I have never been wrong over any of my predictions...One failure on the part of Donlad Duke today was that he never envisaged he would be a president one day if he had accepted OBJ's offer to be Yaradua's VP..Do you understand that very mathematics there? He was too proud...but the humble GEJ got it right from the start..A lucky him indeed to his name.....We know fully well that Jonathan is that of the minority and that was why they choose sabo to get his vote from the north but don't forget..Sambo is not even from the majority....Have you done that research? This was the calculation OBJ did initially for saying shagari's son should be choosen to be the VP so as for GEJ to get the votes massively in the north west where buhari and shagari hails from but it was a turn around fact that got Sambo in.......I am not trying to vindicate anyone here but just telling you those few cabals in the north are just wasting the future of many Nigerians....Because they want to remain relevant...Have you forgotten what OBJ said before he left his goverment, he said that after him, no Nigerian above the youthful age would be allowed to rule the nation..Single handedly make sure that IBB and co would not smell the place..One wonders what would have happened to us in this nation if not for OBJ....OBJ as wicked as he is has got his own good days to deal with many of these bad eggs who are in sheep clothing but ready to tear us into pieces in this country.... See..I am not of the stance that election be rigged but please and please my brother..Inrespective of the emotions I have poured into this..Please understand that I have lived in the south-south for 11 years. I schooled there and I have travelled across those regions many times..I have made lots of friends down there...and all I see in their faces is dissapointment on the part of Nigeria...Please do not get me wrong...I just want the minority to have that sense of belonging....If you listen carefully to OBJ speech which he made......during the finally rally of the GEJ campaign.....I quote him " As I could see that zoning is still in the PDP constiution,we all must understand that what brought president goodluck jonathan to this office is that of natural circumstance and of nobody's fault. However, I implore all of us to vote massively for President Jonathan as he has agreed to do only one term.Though looking at the pdp consitution, I can only guess where the power is going come 2015 but I do not know who would be the president of Nigeria come 2015" That was OBJ's comment..He knows what is up down there and he who is wise should understand that language very well. I am sure the NPLF(CIROMAS) must be thinking it is coming back to the fulanis 2015...Na lie..Wait till then..It is either south-east which is most likely or the minority in the North..The adamawas, jos, or kadunas.. Bros...Nigeria is a place of a very complex situation...For the fact that we do not speak one language alone is a big problem which shouldnt have been a yardstick to choose a competent person to run the affairs of a country....but what can we do when nature has made it so....Please...get it very well..I just need peace..peace..because like you said that if the enitre north should come together and vote GEJ out...then what do I think would happen..? You know it yourself!!! It is not a question that needs to be pondered. Na war.. but I put it to you back again..Why on earth then are this 2 men from the North still challenging him....That means they just don't give a fucking stupid rubbish who the hell we are in the south.... So don't bite me..It is not my fault...

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
adaxy007 you have a sound brain, brother. some stupid people, particularly in the southwest, are shouting for change to go back to slavery. They want to be slaves to the north for ever. They are yet to realize that Lagos is the most populous state in Nigeria. They are too blind to know it. They stupidly believe that Kano is more populous than Lagos. OBJ is the wisest southwestern leader they ever had. I trully appreciate you kind of mind.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Kexo or gentle man whichever you prefer to be called by, please do not exhibit your violent tendencies in this forum, I am made to believe you posses a couple because you are obviously new to this forum and cannot wait to show your veracity for "peace". The only 2 posts from you on this forum are curse words that are insulting and extremely aggressive. You must be a good example.
Moreover, it is well established fact that in a democratic society, everyone has a right to believe what the want to and as a matter of fact can convince others of their beliefs even if it is extremely flawed. However, this is not to say that I share the same opinion with adexzy007 but I learned 1 or 2 new lessons from his post but this is the contrary in your case. Precisely, I read new curse words but I cannot find good lesson to learn from you.
Haven said all of this, I think there are better ways to air your views or correct any misstatements or even convey your take on a particular topic. Just like the others that contributed to this thread. You should consider taking lecture 101 from amaka nwa or Arch441 soonest. God bless us all as we try to live as one...hmmm Quote:

@Badgirlz --- May God bless you... I think the guys has taken it very personal but you know the system we have is so volatile such that the politicians use many of their systematic campaign trick to win votes and I guess on that side..Kexo has been won to their side.... One can imagine the learnt politicians can go to discredit their fellow politicians but it take a great inner eyes to know the true picture of many things..The last time there was a bomb attack October 1st in Abuja...when Jonathan came out saying it was not a MEND attack. They felt he was saying rubbish, that he was stupid to have said that. Well, he may not look presidential enough for him to come out point blank but if one would think deep..He probably knows what he meant..Have we asked ourselves the long silence of Raymond dokpesi...after the bomb blast...Have we asked ourselves why IBB said no one should link him to bomb attacks... If I reflect back to what Amaka said in one of her comments. I quote her " GEJ seems to ve lofty ideas but not strong-willed and seems sometimes to look d oda way why things go wrong, why d pple he wants to lead are being massacred in Jos/Maiduguri/and everyoda part of d country, by heartless and faceless individuals" ----but I would say to us that GEJ has been able to contain the pressure on his side to be used by this politicians, he has been able to tolerate his opponents... He once said that as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he has enormous power to go after his opponent but it would be the last thing for him to do.... Do we think GEJ does not know those orchestrating most of the Bomb attacks in the north, their sponsors...He knows them!!! All they bent on is to discredit his government on security issue to make Nigerian see him as not being capable and most importantly to force him to go after them...thereafter they call it witch-hunting like they accused OBJ during his own GOVERMENT...That time many Nigerians would be blind to the fact that they are the one causing problem all around...Mark my words..If GEJ should win the coming election..They all should know they have a case to answer..Lives they have destroyed in the norths under their stupid disguise....No wonder many of us finds it difficult to believe GEJ cannot be proactive or take decision on his own..Wait till after May 29th...Many of you would be shocked. We can only wait May 29 and see how the whole games plays out….:(

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Heeeeeeey!!! House,This is becoming too political eventhough is interesting but the main purpose of this forum is verymuch underminded in this particular title 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution. Anyway,I am happy to know dat 9ja youths are current and reasonable enof to critically analyze issues with concrete evidence and without being bias nor sentimental, this is sign of maturity and civilization. Adexy idea is great tho i was nt to oprtund 2 read other for they look so voluminous and as an engineer,we consider it work. I c GEJ narrowly winning tho without no much reason but divine i gues bcos from my opinion sampling, manysay good about Buhari and some categorically said he is d beter man with his strong will, looks and experience yet concluded with 'BUT I WILL VOTE 4 GEJ NOT PDP' this bring me to the tot that Jonathan is PDP Joker and mit probably b d last president from PDP.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
I appreciate each and everyone of your view. I about 70% optimistic that GEJ might as well be the last PDP leader in this country, especially when he fails to deliver his promises concerning this issue. Some people say he is a bit weak but let us still give him a chance and see if he can deliver, although he has some crazy and corrupt people around still backing him up. I have tried to see how 500,000 jobs will be feasible in the gas sector, if the so called NNPC have just about 15,000 staff nationwide (especially when I see the crowd writing test everyday for the position of about 6people example Nigerian Breweries). Well please let us try to reduce the insults here as this is trying to go personal instead of our desire for a job. Election is around the corner and we the youths have the power to vote for the right man of our choice. I love these write ups although some are like JAMB comprehension passages (lol), but this has given us a little bit of insight of what we want from our future president. 500,000jobs is no small number but Nigeria have the resources to make that happen especially when we consider how much someone like Atiku could spend in buying a house in America ( over $60 million) and how much Ibori stole from Delta state govt. Not to mention but an example. I pray the next 4years will create a level playing ground as politicians now see politics as the juicest business ever in Nigeria, forgetting what we elect them to do. Lets try to go for a man with vision although all our candidates have that (except Dele Momodu and co) but its just that we need only one person as president for the next four years. Only God knows the best. Thanks everyone

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
@Amaka, u r a real woman wit a large heart.
@adexzy007, ur comments show u r really in touch wit d unfolding political scenario in Nigeria. Ur outbursts I can understand cos i do feel dt way stimes. God has seen our tears n brought GEJ. But i'm afraid, he might be playing himself to d gallery, out of both God's n man favour especially on his stance on d unholy political upheaval in Akwa Ibom, in which an average citizen of that state blivs it's man inhumanity 2 man. I can say dt until recently he was d people's choice, but things ve since changed. To my fellow youths, let's put on our thinking cap, let's do away wit sentiments, ethnicity n religion. Let's take our destiny in our hands. I must confess, i'm impressed by ur reasoning acumen on this forum, it gives hope of a brighter 2morrow 4 our great nation. God bless all.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
brethen, as the march towards the elections draw near, it would not do us any good to be religious or ethnically sentimental.
it would be erroneous for us to ascribe all our nations problems to a paarticular tribe or religious group.
when the capitalist of this nation sit down to share our national heritage, they are from diverse tribes and faith, but share a common interest-money.
the 500,000 gas jobs,is a political issue, and would die like all politically induced issues have died.
it would be fool hardy for us to think that GEJ is the solution to our national woes.GEJ is actually a product and a beneficiary of the corrupt satanic system.
as long as the process to ascension to leadership positions in naija is still controlled and co-ordinated by the satanic clique we see, we would never get there.
and please please please, dont think its a nigerian issue, no brother, its global.
while i share your enthusiasm for a responsive givernment, take it from me, that no human government can get us to that eldorado.
we in the faith, await the government of the king of kings, and the lord of lords.
not GEJ, not buhari, not sambo, not el rufai, not sherakau and definitely not GEJ who is tied to nigerias albatross-OBJ
i used share this sentiments, until i began to hear of satanic things like GEJs list, senate list, house list and presidency list in the NNPC recruitment exerise.
brethen, wither nigeria.....even the 500,000 jobs they are promising, its for them them.
but our eyes are on God,He is still on the throne.....
just like the clay in the potters hands, we/naija are for ever in his hands

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
Please, i want you guys to halt all these political discussions for now and let us face reality. We should hope that whatever promise any govt make must be fulfilled withpu delay. All our leaders, irrespective of thier ethnic and religion affiliations, are giulty.

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
In the midst of our troubles so shall will still reap from the land of favour and blessing like we have in Nigeria.. Jesus Army you are quite right that we do have a satanic system instead but if by what I have seen in the entire world that the high level of holiness of a nation is not worth determines the true growth or development of a Nation then Nigerian's case shouldn't be an issue. Many of us would agree with me that our nation is the most religious one in the world, yet we are not making good heads. Jesus Army I do not think you went deep to see it from this other perspective that while the white took us into slavery; they were actually doing what is against the will of God, yet their land is prospering and coast is getting enlarged day by day..You still didn't look at it in this context that while they were busy producing nuclear destroying weapons, their environment is still that of the satanic system. What of China whose doctrine is even far from that of God's commandments.. Note that the sins the leaders of the western community have commited against humanity can't be quantified with what our leaders have done to us but this is a matter of different folks for different stroke.. @Jesus Army -As much as I like to read from your post or comment, with because of the depth of you knowledge & gospel wise, I do not think you got it right to conclude GEJ would do nothing due to his albatross-OBJ like you mentioned. Would pharaoh had thought Moses who heads a council of his own would be the one to lead the children of Isreal out of egypt. Part of the gospel verses says that "He would use the wicked to destroy the wicked" Therefore your positivity is what I plead for because many of us do not know where the judgement of this country is coming from. We all are just saying our own....Don't forget Rawligns of Ghana was part of the corrupt goverment but he carried out that bible passage..Using the wicked to destroy the wicked.... I am only of the opinion from what the originator of this Topic asked and I felt that GEJ has what is most possible and feasible but I cannot tell what battle he would be fighting when he starts actualizing them.....Peace to the house....

Re: 500,000 jobs vs gas revolution
adexzy, if u still bliv GEJ will fight corruption in dis country, u may ve 2 wait 4 d remaining days of ur life. I heard them say, "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones". How can he throw stones when his whole house is made of glass? I am a Niger Deltan, but d signs don't portray any hope. As God said to David; "by this deed, u ve given great occasion 2 d enemies of d Lord 2 blaspheme", i think if d north ve a shot on power again, we r d cause. One question i ask our northen brothers is; if Atiku had won d PDP primaries will u still b talking of voting PDP out? I think the whole agitation is borne out of greed, selfishness, ethnicity n religion and not on reasonable issues. As youths, our clamour 4 change should not be based on d afore mentioned, but on genuine values. Thank u.
