2nd interview at kpmg--please need help

Second stage interview is always about the unit you are planning to join. Those of you coming to ITA must have good info about the unit especially the different service lines. The managers are quite smart and they know who they want.

Concerning the recruitment process, it is usually long but there are always exceptions. I have colleagues that their recruitment processes did not take more than 6 months. However, some new intakes are currently doing KBAC, so I doubt if they will take more people until september which is beginning of a new financial year.

I wrote my test 28th jan 2009, passed it & put in 4BPS, went 4my 1ST interview by april & was invited 4my 2nd interview sumtimes around may all last yr 2009. Till date i hv not heard from them. I dont really understand KPMG. I followed up & was told my issue wld b resolved soonest. I received a call from them asking me if i was told i was succesful after my 2nd interview which i said no, cos i was only told they wld get back 2me. For the poster who needs help 4ur 2nd interview under BPS, dis is wat i hv 4u. At ur 2nd interview wit kpmg under BPS, u wld meet wit titi adewusi, she is the manager of BPS. Expect questions lyk why do u want 2work 4us, what values wld u add 2us, lets meet u, wat are ur strengths & weakeness, etc. These are normal interview questions, so dont b scared. 2ndly, u shld hv stuck wit ur ITA, i am not tryin 2discourage u but BPS was a wrong choice 4u. An insider told me its a very difficult unit 2get in bcos BPS are not doing gud biz 4now, thats y they hardly take. Its BPS dat has kept me on d sidelines till now while my frnds that chose audit & tax hv already started wit them last yr september.U shld hv changed 2internal audit & risk mgt. I happen 2b on d waiting list under BPS. I am sorry if my help is coming late. I registered wit naijahotjob 2mnts ago but just got created by admin while i hv bn waiting for months 2b signed on & i bliv there are lots of people out there who are well & better informed but cannot contribute cos they've not bn created by admin.

Pls im havin my 1st interview wit kpmg nxt week. Can anyone enlighten me on familiar questions i cld be asked. Gzl pls assist me

What unit r u going for?

@doziej84: it depends on the department to which you applied. If u applied to BPS, Tax, or Audit,etc then you should expect a scenario such as (Constructing a tower with old newspapers. Its a group/team work exercise. They only want 2assess ur team work spirit which includes wat r u inputs during d tower constructing exercise, were u active or dormant, did u introduce urself 2ur team members b4 u started off d building of the tower, did u clean up ur environment after d exercise. These r some of d tins dey wld assess & rate u on.) as described by @biggerboyze. But if you applied to ITA like I did, then you won't encounter something like that. Prepare your self for general interview questions like "Tell me about yourself" which would mostly be the 1st question. Overall, be composed & try to be confident.

I guess it will come on handy during my second stage, this first stage was a one-on-one thing, more of getting to know you thing, your aspirations, drive, passion, strengths and weaknesses, what to do under different hypothetical situations...on a general note it was fun!
