I think what Ufuoma77 is trying to say is that, some of these recruiters should try and understand the position of job seekers; sending your personal details to a faceless and nameless entity is quite a risky venture, although some of the recruiters do it with the best of intentions, but then again there are scammers (ware wolves and blood suckers) out there looking for the slightest opportunity to get hold of our private information so that they can use it against us or even our loved ones. They too can appear as faceless and nameless entities (blood sucking wolves in sheep clothing), thereby mimicking the recruiters that decide to tow the line of faceless and nameless entities.
They could at least have some empathy and put an address and phone number which people could call or visit to confirm that its not a scam.

@ god_speed, I agree with you. Anyway, we just have to be careful and seek clarification on any suspicious issue. Got an email from CDC today. They are just big scams. Why should a job seeker pay money into an unknown account to secure safety kits for training? If the company is as big as they claim, they sure can afford that. Nemesis will catch up with whoever is behind that rubbish.

I have this advert on paper too, but my fear: Will a reputable company want to make itself annonymous? Anyway I'll still do it sha, it does really cost me little. But we need to be careful of some scammers who just want to have database of other people's information.

I simply played with the names but other details were correct.
The email can be used for spamming if they're scammers cos they'l send you a mail addressing you with the fake name and telling you rubbish. If that happens na to delete straight.
But if they're real we'l know.
Bomb the sim now o.

Could be any of the Telecom giants using this as a smokescreen.
Why would anyone want us to send in our credentials via sms?
This sounds more like a scam you know.
Next thing is e.mailing you to come to one specific add for you interview at a specific date.

@all:i dont really think the information needed can be used to do any harm,the e-mail can only be filled up with spams and your phone number cant be cloned to make calls on ur behalf,ur home address was not requested for,so i really dont think there's any risk that cant be managed easily.It's only greed and too much anxiety that makes people vulnerable.All the best.I sent mine the moment i saw the post though.

@Larry22 in this age of the internet, the information you have supplied is way way more than enough to harm u or ur loved ones. I'm not saying we should not apply for the add, I'm just advocating that we ought to be very careful on how we give out our personal information thinking its harmless. There's a lot about privacy invasion and character impersonation that we dont know about.

For heavens sakes, 'what is good for the goose........ ' >:( Please it smells like a SCAM! That it's a Newspaper placements doesnt guarantee its authenticity, and its not the first time someone has innocently placed a newspaper ad, and received positive and negative criticisms.... my humble self not being so lucky, and times without number, this respectable and intelligent house has most times than not, condemned those posts, or at least alerted us on the risks involved in those posts. So why are we then making an exception to this case? Or are we saying ''ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT.............'' :-\
Please note that for now it might not hurt to send the text, but if it is a scam, your information is the hands of scammers and we really cannot tell the intent or extent to which they will use the information supplied.

I have attached a scanned copy of the add for those who were like me and wanted to see this add in order to decide for myself if it is worth it.
I think it is genuine from the the pix on top i think its more like an oil and gas servicing firm, but the size of the add which is just a little larger the 1/4 of the page suggests is none of the oil and gas majors. Their emphasis on science disciplines also adds some credibility.
(For some laugh the article right beside the add should encourage more of you to apply.

it was this same method that friesland foods used for their advert last year, and finally, pple wrote tests and some av done interviews.
those who are not comfortable giving out their e-mail can open new email, abi? and maybe buy new tel. lines too if u tink it cud be a scam and u are not comfortable wt giving out ur fone no abi?

Hi guys, I just wish to ask a simple question: HAS ANYONE EVER GOT A JOB WHICH THEY APPLIED FOR VIA SMS? I mean, it is been a while now since we started seeing this "send name, sex, phone no, etc" kinda job ad. I don't want to discourage anybody who wants to apply but for me, I have often got a reply from a "recruitment agency" asking me to come for a test and subsequent immediate deployment, plus of course, a FEE! God help us all job seekers.

pleas these people are scammer.I gave them a trail and they were asking for certain amount to be paid into their first bank account before materials for the training could be sent.The english with which they wrote their sales letter is even questionalbe as it containes errors.
