VACANCY FOR THE POST OF AN ACCOUNTANT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of an Accountant in a fast growing commercial establishment, with Admin office at No 100 ,Iga Idungaran street, Lagos Island. Interested candidates must possess either B.Sc. or HND in Accountancy from a recognized higher institution in Nigeria plus at least 5years post NYSC experience in a similar business organization. Computer literacy and AICAN or its equivalent will be added advantage. Salary package is attractive and negotiable.

DUTIES
The successful applicant shall be responsible for all accounting matters of the company. In this regard, he/she shall be able to:
Identify and use source documents to make entries in the subsidiary books

Record, classify, analyze and interpret company’s financial transactions in orderly manner so as to help management in decision making.

Monitor transactions with the bank, verify cheque - stubs and draw periodic bank reconciliation statements with the banks.

Monitor stock movements and proper stock inventory records as kept by the sub-ordinate officers.
Supervise cash/credit sales as well as debtors (customers) ledger records.


Prepare purchases/import requisition process as well as creditors (suppliers) ledger records

Supervise payment vouchers/payroll record systems and postings into the expenses analysis ledger accounts

Formulates cost units and cost centers as financial control mechanism.

Establish and update fixed Assets Register.

Prepare periodic trial balances, trading,profit and loss accounts and balance sheet to guide management in decision making.
