Sec-ypp recruitment, any updates?

@ Oriaifo, There was a test written in februrary and may. After which there was an assessment centre held in august in different locations. during the wait we heard that there was another t4st and assessmnet centre held in abuja. During the week sucessful individuals were informed. The assessment centre comprised of a group exercise, intray activity and a case study interview. initially we had been given materials on the case study to research on and then we were asked to apply the study to the nigerian economy. There was no traditional come today come 2moro interview that some of us are used to. This recruitment exercise followed the path used by shell. renaissance capital and some other multinationals. During the assessment centre we had some top SEC officials in the panel. The job is real, no one is scamming us. Phillip Consulting as a tradition does not send out rejection mail, if you do not hear from them when ur mates do asume you didnt pass. I hope this has answered your questions

I called him today and he said all YPs are expected to resume at Abuja on the 5th of December, 2011.Pls does anyone know if we are to sort out our accommodation ourselves because not all of us are based in Abuja?

The last time i discussed with him, he said everybody is expected to resumed @ their head office and any other info will be communicated.

I just confirmed from an insider,. SEC wont be contacting people anymore.. So if you haven't been called, just forget about it and move on!

Please those who visited SEC office was it Abuja or Lagos office? I have enquiries to make. I received the email but yet to receive the hard copy. was asked to email my address cos when I applied I applied from the UK. I still haven't received my hard copy. So need to know if I can visit their lagos office as I reside in lagos.

Thanks guys. It has been sorted. We are to report to the Abuja Office. Was also informed to make arrangements for accommodation as there will be no hotel accommodation provided. However we will be given some allowance at the end of the 1st week or beginning of 2nd week.
Also we will be there for 3 weeks in December and another 3 weeks in January. So that's six weeks in total!

pls can somone shed more light on how good the place is for career? i just started working with KPMG an its really a difficult decision for me to make whether to take the SEC or just continue with KPMG.

my challenge with KPMG is the late hours and small pay but theres alot to learn here.

Besides u will learn at SEC,its not as boring as other govt jobs.they are committed to changin d face of stock exchange in nigeria, regulating and improving it by adhering to and keeping up to date with international standards of corporate governance.And u arent being employed as graduate trainee but young professionals which should give u a clue as to their goals.

i believe the local government letter issued by liason offices in your state of residence should be enough, that waht i have though.
