Job Description

Paints Industry Limited (APIL) is a giant paint manufacturing company in

Responsibilities
Planning and carrying out R&D for pigment pastes and other colour formulations
Conduct research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances, for such purposes as paint products and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies
Develop new formulas, analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties
Ensure all experimentation is focused towards agreed production needs as well as prepare progress reports and presentations
Design good quality products with competitive pricing and high returns/profit
Checking for specified colors or textures, verifying dimensions or ensuring safety and durability.
Identify imperfections using mechanical or electronic equipment or chemical analysis.
Perform routine tests to determine if the products meet certain standards.
Conduct analyses of the samples, compile data and interpret the results, often using computer software.
Reporting of inconsistencies, malfunctions or variations from prototype
Written explanations of flaws
Procedural evaluation
Recommendation of new or revised methods for production efficiencies

Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar field, i.e. chemical experience with all of the
materials mentioned above
A strong knowledge of paints and related products manufacturing operations/industry
Bsc., M.Sc. (Chemistry/biochemistry) or M.Sc. (Paint Technology), but focus will be on experience
Must have competencies in paint industries dynamics, leadership/supervisory skills, numeracy
and analytical skills, integrity/accountability, Cost Control, Creativity and innovative
