News: National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) To Create 100,000 Jobs - IT Outsourcing

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) - Says over 100,000 jobs will be created annually when the IT outsourcing sector fully takes shape in the country. NITDA's Director General Dr Ashiru Sanni Daura, who disclosed this at the 2nd National Outsourcing Conference in Abuja, said the sector is in its infant stage but that the agency is working to make Nigeria its hub in Africa in order to provide thousands of jobs for unemployed youths in the coming years.

According to Dr Daura, the level of unemployment in the country is disheartening especially when opportunities in the IT outsourcing have not been explored. He said: "We are also aware of the place of job creation in Mr. President's Transformation Agenda. It is our resolve to support Mr. President on this agenda by creating an enabling environment for providing job opportunities for our teeming youths through the use of IT enabled services".
