Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for supervision of the Shipping and Receiving functions for the Company. This includes developing, implementing and administering systems, procedures and processes which provide effective shipping and receiving services meeting customer service levels objectives, and compliance regulations while minimizing risk and overall costs.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of shipments, both domestic and international (projects, documentation, etc.), including preparation of documents, to ensure proper shipment to and from international suppliers and customer sites in accordance with Export/Import regulations.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions, documenting required tasks as well as information for domestic and international governmental regulation control.
  • Ensures all orders are filled, packaged, invoiced and posted free of errors.
  • Well versed in all forms of shipping procedures and documentation platforms.
  • The candidate will determine the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation for domestic shipments.
  • He/she will be responsible for operations in compliance with the Nigerian and International freight standards.
  • Provide a safe work environment that meets the guidelines of our safety program while achieving all departmental safety goals
  • Monitor and reports all damaged goods in transit.
  • Prepares all customer required shipping documents (Form M, Labels, Packing Slips) for each order.
  • Must understand and implement our customers shipping requirements.
  • Develop key employees; participate in company dialogues regarding employee performance to assure that deserving employees are recognized and that underperforming employees are given the direction required to improve their performance.
  • Responsible for all hourly Shipping & Receiving personnel.

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.SC in Business Administration, or related degree.
  • Experience working in a leading logistics/shipping company with both local and International presence.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a department to ensure annual budgetary/plan financial expectations are met.
  • Large freight packaging and scheduling/routing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role in a shipping/freight handling environment.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Organized, self-motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of shipment scheduling and documentation systems.
