Kpmg test failed

Wrote kpmg's test alongside abt 29 others today @ thier head office and only two scaled thru...I dnt know how these things keep happening buh i am beginning to think i am dumb..written so many test buh keep failing dem and my dreams ar slipping away...buh then again,the test ar always simple yet,i keep failing..and d annoying thing is everyone keeps saying u ar "intelligent" and i say to myself "u can't pass jst a common test so wats d intelligence" .
Feel like crying buh dat wuldn't solve anything..with dis outcome,one question keeps coming to my mind "does it mean i will never get dat dream job?".....SO SAD!

You said it yourself that you Sat for the TEST along side with other 29 applicants,and only 2 guys Scaled through for the Test,Relax and stop thinking Negatively, when the time come for you to get your Destined Job,Nobody i repeat again NOBODY will get it except you So keep on Trying & Preparing,and remember that "There is nothing like Luck But Its Only when Opportunity meets Preparation,then Change is Inevitable" pray and the Almighty will guide on how you'll get your own dream Job.

Am short of words,from the definition of apptitude test,it is simply a test of knowledge but it has a long way to show how exposed one his.Majority of our problems are coursed by us.U r intelligent and i urge nt 2 gv up.Things work in different,for example it is one thing to write test and be considered,it is another thing to pass and be favoured.The connection between success and failure is CHRIST IN YOU. Most people fornicate,masturbate,steal,commit abortion and do all sort of evil.If you hv anytin dat keeps blocking ur breakthrough leave it and fight for that crown,God bless you.

I dnt knw hw many test u hav writen unsuccesfuly but i can assure u dat dat does not mean u are unintelligent neither does it mean intelligence has no value as regards aptitude tests. Just remain focused, unrattled and probably improve ur test taking skills, u knw there is always room 4 imprvmnts. Most importantly commit ur situatn to Baba God. Wish u d bst broda and see u at d apex.

@ maxzyprince , that's the problem. You are "intelligent" but not 'smart'. No disrespect intended. I have passed every single aptitude test I have written this year,PWC, flourmills,PZ(I aint trying to brag). And I don't see my self as 'intelligent', I see myself as smart. I remember the first dragnet test I took this year the dragnet guy said the intelligent students always fail this test cause they know too much and they want to answer all the questions, thereby wasting time. I learnt from that singular statement. I feel there are tricks to passing aptitude tests and you have to learn the tricks. All in all God has his part to play in our lives, but we have to play our part too by seeking information. I hope you would seek out the tricks to passing aptitude test b4 your next test. Dude, pray some more. Study harder (do not take anything for granted). Increase ur network of friends, u may stumble upon valuable info u'd need to help u scale certain hurdles.

Sowee dude...I totally feel u! However, u can't give up cos u failed a test. I have had a few bad experiences myself...years ago, I was one of a few who passed d famous kpmg test but my very 1st interview was a fiasco. I picked up d pieces, put dem together, and d next interview I had was different. My point, learn from d experience and build on it. It doesn't mean u r not intelligent. Just keep working.

I kinda agree with hollaback on the "passing tests" issue. 1 thing apparently not everyone knows is u don't hv to finish. Its great if u do but its not required. I've done aptitude tests of 60questions in 7minutes. I generally target to go past half of the questions. Yes, u shud be fast, but accuracy is equally, if not more, important. Also if u can skip questions, pls do. Some questions waste yo time while odas are sitting ducks.

And don't take any tests for granted. If u find it very easy, everyone else probably does too. And everyone can't pass! So always give it nothing less than yo best shot.

And yes, pray hard. Ask yo mum n close friend(s) to pray for u too...(I guess mum's do it beta dan dads :)).

And oh, did I mention practice? Yeah, dat too is important. I don't always do it but I know it helps from d few times I've done it. Gives u a general feel of what to expect, and can help u with yo speed and accuracy. Try to find out the kind of test and find practice materials here on NHJ or online like on www.shldirect.com. U'll do beta...

My simple trick is apart from preparing hard and praying even harder. I know I cannt finish all the questions so I aim at finishing half of the questions and make WISE guesses at the remaining questions. I make sure I answer all questions even if I have to guess, and I just don't guess any how. I try to eliminate the obviously wrong options before I take my guesses. And we all would have noticed from flourmills results that u have to score average in all the sections (verbal, arithmetic and abstract) . So if you score bellow average in any section you don't go thru. But really prayer is the KEY. But you must do your part. Simple.

A bro graduated since 2007, served 2008/2009 and since then no job. Please wot advice do you have for him. He seems to have given up. I can't leave him now eventhough i now carry the burden of searching jobs for him as well and as seriously as i do for myself. Do you think its too late for him as he believes. Over to you house.

sometime in june last year , I also sat for d kpmg test alongside 18 persons knowing fully well that was the Job i needed to kick-start what would be a successful career, but to my greatest astonishment, only 2 scaled through......One, a serving corper, and the other just finished nysc a day before the test. Yet I know am not dull. Chance and luck makes them al,l my brother. just believe in yourself for this is the basis upon which your future stands.

I love the poster's courage to av voiced out, many of us are dieing inside.I finished 2yrs ago and since then bn freelancing.I've passed no test except chamcity wc i wouldn't knw wat hapend eventualy. Dnt ask me y cos i dnt knw, i also alwz feel i'm dull but sincerly i aint, wt 2:1 ,2 adv certs and 2 profesionals. Though i must agree that i may av nt bn preparing wel. I love ur advises and wl stick by them al.Thank u all once again

One thing I know for sure is this, WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE. I myself can't count the number of test have written but when God's time come, it will be as if someone is dreaming.
I remember last month going 4 interview in a telecom company, I must say if I rate myself, the score will be 0 percent but to my surprise I got a text to come for the next stage interview this last wed and the following next day I had the final stage interview. Now am waiting for my appointment letter which I know by God's grace he has done it.
The word FAIL mean First Attempt In Learning. Failure is not falling but an experience for greater heights.

@maxyprince sorry bro, just as hollabak wrote u need to b smart to pass aptitude test, also u need to understand d various types of aptitude test such as gmat, gse and shl. Also speed and accuracy is always of essence. Plus for u to pass most aptitude test ur numerical/quantitative analysis shud b top notched bcause most peeps perform @ an average level in the verbal part, and if d test includes spatial/abstract scoring very high dere wud go a long way in aiding ur success. For example (not being proud) I wrote and passed PwC, UACN and ciuci's test dis year without answering all d questions but my accuracy in d numerical and spatial/abstract was a plus. So bro u need to practice and practice, go online write practice test and download materials on shldirect.com, practicetests.com ,physometrictest.com.... Keep practicing and u re gonna start spanking all d other test...don't worry bro I was also rejected by kpmg last year(2nd interview) but I'm aiming higher, that's d spirit.....all d best bro......YOLO

With great pleasure and delight, am happy to be writing something also on this issue, I think, the basic steps to passing a test that has worked for me. over time, am a fresh graduate thou, completed service this year march, I have don 3 test, 1 interview and hve passed dem all, I have neva studied Gmat or keplan or whatever they call it in my life. This is my little secret, 1st, I pray to God, that he should give me wisdom, understanding, directions and calmness of the spirit nxt I seek from pple hw they did the exams, what was asked, their flaws and what steps can I take when am writing mine, in summary I gather all the information necessary so that I wont be caught unaware finally I reminisce on IT. jst like hollaback said, there is a huge difference btw Brillance, Intelligence and been Smart, 90% of naija graduate are brillant 10% are intelligent, thats why u will find a 1st class or 2:1 failing a cheap logical test while a 2:2 will pass it... So in summary my advice is that we seek God x5 and then try to get informed x1 then we preprare our self with the info we get.. Thank

@maxzyprince: after reading thru ur post, I could not just resist but had to drop a comment.
Firstly I need to let you know (if u don't know already) that failure is actually a prerequiste for success. If you ask most of the people who r seen as successful today, they'll definitely have at least one story of a time when they encountered failure in the course of their journey to success. I personally have stories of my past failures, a few I would like to share with you.
My first ever aptitude test was actually that of KPMG sumetime in Feb 2009, I took the test with about 50 other candidates and only 8 of us passed. I actually topped with the highest score. This was while I was still serving (NYSC).
My first test after NYSC was that of Friesland Campina (conducted by WORKFORCE) which I failed woefully. I was actually broken and felt very bad about it, but I didn't give up. I however learnt a lesson from it about how exactly WORKFORCE set their questions. This I was able to put into use when I later took HONEYWELL test which was also then conducted by WORKFORCE. I passed the test and got almost to the final stage.
Other tests which I have taken (and failed) in my short career life include: MOBIL MPN (failed twice [1 Trainee Engr and 1 Networking Positions]), SHELL (failed twice), BRISTOW HELICOPTERS (failed twice [1 for Pilot and 1 for Aircraft Engr]), STANDARD CHARTTERED BANK (failed), FLOURMILLS (failed [Networking experienced position]), NNPC (failed), FRIESLAND CAMPINA (failed).
Those which I passed (at 1st attempt) include: P&G, HONEYWELL, TOTAL, CADBURY, GSK, KPMG, GLO/CONOIL, SIGNAL ALLIANCE, etc (just to mention a few).
And most of these which I passed, I actually got to their final stages.
Note that this is not to boast or brag, but just to let you know that you need to (and must) learn from your failures and then leverage on the experience(s) you get out of them. It's not about just being Brilliant or Intelligent, but you must be Smart. You must Practise, Practise, Practise, and keep Practising. And most importantly, put your trust in God only and in no man cos man will eventually fail you. But God is ever faithful, ever sure.

As someone already advised you, you need to sharpen your Numerical aptitude skills cos personally that is my greatest strength in aptitude tests. Also, master the concepts of different kinds of test formats such as GMAT, GSE, SHL, etc. and as well investigate to know about some hidden rules that could apply such as Negative marking, etc.

We actually feel great about the fact that we were able to pass through the so-called rigorous recruitment processes of these great companies, but fail to remind ourselves that most of these companies were started by individuals; people like you and I. Most of them were not even as smart as we have become, but they simply didn't want to work for anybody. They wanted people to work for them. Imagine the stress job seekers pass through to get employed by any of Dangote's companies, and when we finally get the job, we boast of being brilliant or smart. 'Monkey de work barboon de chop' I know you guys will frown at my comment but sometimes we have to expose the truth. Perhaps it is time we concentrated our efforts on getting something done for ourselves alone and stop thinking and stressing, most of the time putting pressure on the brain, about how to pass aptitude tests and interviews. What about health implications? We demand too much from the brain but we don't nourish it back.

maxyzprince, pls dont get discourage i once feel like you but i believe you can still pass test is just that passing of test is beyond your ability... just keep the faith and soon you will start having success story like me, look i wrote Dragnet test like six time before i pass my first dragnet test to mention but a few, so just keep faith my guy

There are no general formulas. not everyone gets to own a company. and not everyone get to work all their life. that's a choice that is becoming increasingly unpopular. besides, for some, this is one way to get capital to start sth up on their own. but your point is fair. there are other ways we can apply ourselves to make a good living rather than jostle for jobs that take more from you than they give you. that said, pls dont stop thinking! :)
