POSITION TITLE: AGRICULTURAL SPECIALIST, *FSN-09/FP-05 TRAINEE POSITION
(THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED AT THE FSN-09/FP-05 AT THE TRAINEE LEVEL WITH A PROMOTION EACH YEAR, WITH SUPERVISOR’S RECOMMENDATION, UP TO TARGET GRADE OF FSN-11/FP-04).

The U.S. Consulate General Lagos is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of Agricultural Specialist in the Office ofAgricultural Affairs.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
Incumbent is the expert principal advisor to the Agricultural Counselor in Lagos on the highly complex trade policy, marketing and reporting issues that affect all exports of U.S. food and agricultural products into Nigeria. This position includes agricultural marketing, business servicing and complex problem solving. The incumbent represents the diverse interests of U.S. farmers and agribusiness in Nigeria. The Agricultural Specialistindependently conducts sophisticated economic and trade sector research and prepares comprehensive reports on agricultural supply demand, trade development trends, emerging market opportunities and foreign competition. The incumbent has primary responsibility for the drafting of the Office of Agricultural Affair’s (OAA’s) scheduled and voluntary reports.
