Job Opening for an Assistant Plant Manager

Job Summary:
The primary purpose is to direct the activities of thePlant’s Production Department through the shift supervisors. Also to providerequired Process Engineering on a Plant Level. This position participates inthe overall administration of the plant. Partly responsible for operations, aswell as manufacturing support functions; Engineering, Planning and Maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
· Assistthe Head of Operations in the day to day operations of a multi-shift productionfacility· Co-ordinateand direct the staff members regarding the activities that need to be performedin the absence of the Head of Operations. · Plan,organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensurethe most effective return on assets in conjunction with the Head of Operations.· Initiateplans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effectiveutilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital in conjunctionwith the Head of Operations. · Reviewsthe production, quality, operations and maintenance reports to know the prosand cons related to production work.· Tomaintain, compile, store and retrieve any data and information related toProduction along with the Head of Operations· Assureattainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuringproduct standards that will exceed customers’ expectations (e.g Service LevelAgreements). · Establishgroup and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments forproblem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and adhoc basis,depending on need.· Improvemanpower utilization within existing units and processes. Schedule stabilitythat allows for maximum return on efficiencies. · Continuallyimprove safety records by addressing both physical safety and employee safetyattitudes. · Maintainand improve house-keeping in all areasCandidate Requirements:

• An HND or degree in any Science or Engineering background
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 5years technical competence in Operations management in the manufacturing industry
• Strong leadership skills, independent, confident and articulate.
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
• Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills.
