Internal auditor

A suitable candidate is needed for the position of Internal Auditor in a Real Estate firm with Head Office in Lagos and branches nationwide.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, organise and carry out the internal audit function including the preparation of audit which fulfils the responsibility of the department, scheduling and estimating resource needs.
  
• Conduct regular spot checks on branches/departments to support full audit exercise.
• Prompt identification and resolution of operational lapses and reconciliation issues.
  
• Responsible for enforcing compliance with company’s policies and procedures.
• Review integrity of risk rating system and minimum credit risk acceptance criteria and ensure compliance.
• Review and report on the accuracy, timeless and relevance of the financial and other information that is provided to management.
• Work with management to ensure a system is in place which ensures that all major risks of the organisation are identified and analysed, on an annual basis.
• Ensuring all financial transactions is checked for accuracy, reliability and authorization.
• Timely execution of risk –based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects.
• Ensures audit working papers are clear, concise and requires limited explanation during review process.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 10 years relevant Audit experience with a construction or consulting firm.
  

• Good first degree in Account or Business related course and a master degree is required.
  
• Professional qualification is required.
