We are recruiting to fill the following position:
Job Title: Instrument Maintenance Engineer
Job Location: Nigeria
Responsibilities
- The SERVICE holder will within the frame work of an integrated Project team during detailed engineering, construction, preparation and start-up into the Production phase:
- Work with the Client’s Project FPSO Package Engineering team to ensure operational acceptability and maintainability of the design of the global Client Field Instrument part of the systems.
- Maintain Instruments Data base
- Be involved in the scope of Instruments work generated by MIE contractor, review all instrument related deliverables.
- Report of all Instruments related data into the Integrity system
- Review and validate the Instrument equipment operational manuals
- Develop the necessary work tools and special tools list for maintenance
- Participate in the definition of the preventive maintenance operations to be performed on the Instrument part of systems, to the calibration procedures and in general to the follow-up procedures still to put in place with the objective of controlling the readings and detecting deviations. Participates in the selection and the procurement of the calibration tools
- Review Engineering deliverables to achieve the above objective
- Participate in the Metering systems FATs, IFATs and SATs accordingly
- Participate in Technical queries clearance with Engineering team
- Provide assistance regarding the Instrument part of systems design and functionalities to the Operations Technical Support, the Production and the Maintenance / Inspection teams as required to allow them to perform their preparation activities related to facilities hand-over, start-up and normal operations
- Participate in the execution of Baseline checks and collection of the relevant data.
- Shall possess full understanding of Safety Systems, Classification, Maritime rules, and regulations applicable to Floating installations.
- Shall have knowledge of Subsea Instrumentation systems, techniques and work methods.
- Execute the Instruments maintenance policy, according to the procedures.
- Be responsible for updating of the MIE Instrument plans, Procedure drafting, drawing revisions, spare part identification and recommendation, testing
- Work with Commissioning team to assist in the actual deployment, integration and testing of the Instrument part of systems on the FPSO and more generally in the Metering package design review and commissioning activities.
- Follow-up on punch list activities and control of punch list items and close-out.
- Review ready for commissioning (RFC) dossiers on sub-system basis.
- Review MIE tow and operational spare parts list and inspect operation spare parts.
- Develop instrumentation Maintenance Methods, including working procedures, and maintenance programmes
HSE
- To fully comply with office security, health and safety instructions.
- To stay vigilant and maintain continuous awareness of hazards and surroundings.
- To report to Management on any issue they may face or observe and propose way of improvement.
- To also take care of colleagues safety and behavior without hesitating to intervene as much as necessary.
- To give his own input and making sure the workplace is safe (obviously clean and tidy).
- When in doubt, ask questions to gain clarification.
- To fully comply with Security rules about Travelling in Nigeria.
Health, Safety And Environment Responsibilities
- Participate in HAZIDS; HAZOPS; Project Technical Reviews, and HSE Audits as required, and ensure corrective actions are defined, implemented and monitored for Field Operations related action points.
- Report anomalies and incidents promptly
- Participate in Project HSE Committee meetings
Accountabilities
- Provide assistance regarding the Instrument part of systems design and functionalities to the Operations Technical Support, the Production and the Maintenance / Inspection teams as required to allow them to perform their preparation activities related to facilities hand-over, start-up and normal operations
Requirements
- Education: B. Eng (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional experience: 8 years of which 3 yrs working on maintenance of oil & gas installations,
- possess experience in instrumentation/safety systems in Oil and Gas Facilities Projects.
- Knowledge of Control process, PLC, Control loop and Data transmitter
- Skills required: Good supervisory, presentation and communication skills, team management skills
- Understanding and experience in Maritime Classification, rules and regulations applicable to Instrumentation on Floating installations.
- Possess skills in Subsea instrumentation techniques, testing and work methods.
- Risk analysis, Safety of personnel and facilities
- Maintenance methods, Metering, Inspection techniques
- Language: Fluent in English, French an advantage
