Job Description

• Get familiar with subsea projects development,
• build a good technical knowledge on the specific subject,
• Get confident with main aspects of umbilical system EPC/EPCI activity coordination,
• Develop strong attitude for team work and cooperation with the team members.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the flow of information inside the Umbilicals System with all the parties involved.
• Assist the Head of UMBILICAL on the technical tasks, working from CONTRACTORS Lagos based project office,
• Monitor with the Head of UMBILICAL the progress of technical activities related to the Umbilicals System, inside the main frame of UFR Package EPCI contract,
• Contribute to the promotion of a ‘no change’ policy inside the assigned package, in order to preserve the Project Schedule,
• In case of unavoidable changes, give support in ensuring that complete resolution of such changes is managed across the Umbilical System packages and follow-up necessary updates.
• Assist in resolution of technical queries with Vendor/ Contractor and Company PMT.
• Assist in resolution of the Interface queries.
• Assist to ensure technical documentation is consolidated with all agreed technical tasks to be developed,
• Promote and stimulate effective communication among the parties involved, especially among the team members and Contractor’s engineers of Umbilical System package.
• Participate on regular basis to the project technical meetings, as necessary, with the different contractors, with a dedicated follow-up on the implementation of technical meeting resolutions,
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date Deepwater Umbilical projects feedback to complement design dossier (as need be)
• Participate in weekly, monthly and ad-hoc meetings with CONTRACTOR and SUPPLIER.
• Attend necessary audits of contractor or subcontractors in cooperation with the Vendors and COMPANY QC Leaders
• Attend PPM and critical manufacturing activities of sub-vendors for flexible components/ raw material supply if necessary.
• Reports to UFR HSE Lead Engineer and to the Head of Umbilicals any HSE events within the perimeter or reporting perimeter of the Project.
• Support as necessary approved Third parties (Certification and/or Classification and/or MWS) when applicable.
• Participate when requested to any technical reviews such as COMOPS, SIMOPS, Hazids, Hazops, Project Technical Reviews, Risk Assessments and ensure implementation of recommendations as necessary.
• To fully comply with office security, health and safety instructions.
• To stay vigilant and maintain continuous awareness of hazards and surroundings.
• To report to Management on any issue they may face or observe and propose way of improvement.
• To also take care of colleagues safety and behavior without hesitating to intervene as much as necessary.
• To give his own input and making sure the workplace is safe (obviously clean and tidy).
• When in doubt, ask questions to gain clarification.
• To fully comply with Security rules about Travelling in Nigeria

Qualification and Requirements

• Graduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline that relates to industry at large and preferably to Petroleum Industry activities (minimum B.Sc.), MANDATORY (copy of diploma to be provided).
• At least 2 years of experience in the industry, preferably with practice of Oil & Gas industry for offshore and subsea works.
• Basic knowledge of umbilicals or umbilical component manufacture and testing for deepwater Projects.
• Basic knowledge of general subsea equipment engineering.
• Basic knowledge of international design codes / standards and TOTAL general specifications
• Basic practice of offshore works (preferable).
• Some basic knowledge in structural engineering/fabrication, material, corrosion, coatings will be also valuable.
• Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
